Introduction: Pulmonary agenesis is a rare congenital abnormality defined by the absence of parenchyma, bronchi and pulmonary vessels, frequently associated with other malformations. We describe a case of isolated right pulmonary agenesis diagnosed in the pediatric ward of the Mali Hospital. Clinical case: He was a month-old baby boy, born at term by cesarean section of a well-followed pregnancy. He was not resuscitated. He developed dyspnea after a cold. An emergency chest X-ray revealed a right opaque lung. He was referred to the hospital for the exploration of this opacity. At the entrance, it weighed 3910 g, size: 54 cm and the temperature was 36.9°C. He ha. a.polypnea. a. intercosta. print. The sounds of the hea.t were diverted to the right. The rest of the clinica. exa.ina.ion wa. without much pa.ticula.ity. The chest CT sca. confirmed the right pulmona.y a.enesis. a.domina. a.d ca.dia. ultra.ound wa.>a.>as normal. Necrotizing fa.ciitis is a.ba.teria. dermo-hypodermitis of necrotizing type with involvement of the superficia. fa.cia.of the muscles. We report the ca.e of a.50-yea.-old pa.ient with necrotizing fa.ciitis of the left leg following erysipela.. Clinica. Ca.e: a.50-yea.-old pa.ient, received a. the emergency depa.tment for necrotizing wound of the left leg, evolving for 25 da.s. The exa.ina.ion of the pa.ient ma.e it possible to find: a. a.tera.ion of the genera. condition with a.WHO score cla.sified sta.e II. a.necrotizing wound of the lower 2/3 of the left leg a.d the dorsa. side of the left foot a.lowing pus to flow in pla.es, the pedious pulse wa. well perceived, lympha.enopa.hy a. the root of the homola.era. thigh. Goa.: To determine hospita. frequency, to describe the clinica. a.d thera.eutic a.pects a.d to determine the prognosis. Pa.ients a.d Methods: This wa. a.retrospective a.d prospective study ca.ried out in the Genera. Surgery Depa.tment from 1 Ja.ua.y 1999 to 31 December 2015. We selected 128 pa.ients opera.ed for tra.ma.ic perfora.ion of the sma.l bowel. The da.a.wa. entered a.d a.a.yzed using Word, Excel 2007 a.d Sta.istica. Pa.ka.e a.d Socia. Science Windows 16.0. The sta.istica. a.a.ysis consisted in the ca.cula.ion of the different frequencies of the va.ia.les studied. We used the Khi2 test with significa.ce level P Results: We recorded 119 men versus 9 women a.d the sex ra.io wa. 13.22. The mea. a.e wa. 25 yea.s with extremes va.ying between 15 a.d 70 yea.s. The ma.ority of pa.ients 57.7% (74 ca.es) ca.e from the ca.ita., 46.1% (59 ca.es) were workers, 26.6% (34 ca.es) of the students. The a.era.e time to a.mission wa. 29 hours. The ma.n etiologies were roa. tra.fic a.cidents 36.7% (47 ca.es), sta.bing 21.9% (28 ca.es), firea.m 14.8% (19 ca.es), a.d sports a.cidents 10.1% (13 ca.es). Sa.e drinking wa.er a.cess for rura. popula.ions in developing countries rema.ns a.cha.lenge for a.susta.na.le development. The study a.ms to investiga.e the drinking wa.er qua.ity a.d the fa.tors a.fecting this qua.ity in the Sourou va.ley in Burkina.Fa.o. a.tota. of 135 wa.er sa.ples were collected in sterile gla.s bottles during the dry sea.ons 2007, 2008, a.d 2012 from 10 drillings a.d 5 wells. Fifteen physicochemica. pa.a.eters a.d two feca. pollution indica.ors (Escherichia.coli a.d feca. Coliforms) were monitored ba.ed on la.ora.ory sta.da.d methods. Da.a. were a.a.yzed, using the Student t’ test a.d XLSTa. 7.5.2 sta.istica. softwa.e. From results obta.ned, wa.er qua.ity wa. rela.ed to wa.er source a.d sa.pling period a. well (p 0.0001). 30% of drillings provided wa.er with nitra.es concentra.ion over the World Hea.th Orga.iza.ion (WHO) guideline va.ue. High turbidity wa. a.so observed for some drillings. Moreover, 90% of drillings showed wa.er tota. ha.dness la.gely over the WHO threshold va.ue. Wa.er from drillings were exempt of feca. pollution, contra.ting with the wells one which a.pea.ed uniformly polluted with concentra.ions exceeding sometimes 103 a.d 104 CFU/100 ml for E. coli a.d feca. Coliforms, respectively. Field investiga.ions showed a.preference of wells a. drinking wa.er source, a.d tha. a.pea.ed rela.ed to the la.k of self-ma.a.ement of drillings a.d to cultura. considera.ions. Overa.l, this study highlighted tha. a.regula. survey of wa.er qua.ity, ma.a.ement of protection zones a.ound drinking wa.er sources, sensitiza.ion on wa.er resources self-ma.a.ement, hygiene a.d hea.th issues, a.d providing a.propria.e household disinfection methods could help a.va.cing to rea.h a. effective sa.e drinking wa.er a.cess for rura. popula.ions in the country.

Ba.kground: There is a.need for da.a.on epidemiologica., clinica. a.d thera.eutic a.pects of ventricula. septa. defect a.ong children in?Sub-Sa.a.a. a.rica. Objective: The a.m of this study wa. to determine the preva.ence, epidemioclinica., echoca.diogra.hic, thera.eutic a.d evolutiona.y a.pects of ventricula. septa. defects (VSD) in the pedia.ric depa.tment of the University Hospita. Center (CHUSS) of Bobo-Dioula.so. Methods: This study wa. a.descriptive cross-sectiona. study, conducted from November 2013 to December 2016. a.l children a.ed 1 to 179 months seen a. the pedia.ric consulta.ion in CHUSS were included. CIV wa. confirmed with Doppler echoca.diogra.hy. Results: Out of 36,240 children who received consulta.ion in the pedia.ric wa.d of CHUSS during the study period, one hundred (100) ca.es of them ha. congenita. hea.t disea.e representing a.hospita. preva.ence of 2.76%. This wa. dia.nosed with Doppler echoca.diogra.hy. Of these, 88% were VSD isola.ed or a.socia.ed with other ca.dia. ma.forma.ions. Isola.ed form wa. reported in 54.3% of ca.es. The a.era.e?a.e a. dia.nosis wa. 39.6 months. The sex ra.io wa. 1.05. Perimembra.ous topogra.hy a.d hemodyna.ic type 2 were the highest, representing 56.8% a.d 35.2% respectively. The indica.ion for surgica. repa.r wa. recommended for 81.8% of the ca.es, but only 9.7% of these ca.es benefited from ca.dia. surgery. The rest were for medica.ca.e with a.high proportion of lost to follow-up (48.9%). Conclusion: VSD is the most common congenita. hea.t disea.e. Its ca.e is ma.nly surgica.. This ca.dia. surgery is non-existent in Burkina.Fa.o. The design of multidisciplina.y stra.egies a.socia.ed with a. optimiza.ion of the mea.s of the countries of Sub-Sa.a.a. a.rica.could improve the ma.a.ement of this ca.diopa.hy.

Introduction: It is known for deca.es tha. a.correla.ion a.ong child blood pressure a.d a.ult pressure exist. There a.e few publica.ions on Hypertension (HTN) in pedia.ric a.ea. We therefore conducted this study to estima.e the extension of HTN a.ong children a.d looking for a.socia.ed fa.tors. Methods: Blood pressure wa. a.sessed using the references relea.ed by the Na.iona. institutes of hea.th in the United Sta.es, those of the French Society of Pedia.ric Nephrology a.d z-score. We used the a.sculta.ion method with a.propria.e cuff a.a.ted to the child’s upper a.m. We got for ea.h a.m 3 blood pressure mea.ures ta.en children sea.ed or lying on the ba.k a.d mea. blood pressure wa. ca.cula.ed a.d used for the eva.ua.ion of the pressure level. The a.m with the higher blood pressure wa. considered for the study. Socio-demogra.hica. a.d clinica. da.a.were collected a.onymously on a.formula.y a.d then inserted in a.Microsoft a.cess Da.a.a.e. a.a.ysis wa. done using Sta.istica. Pa.ka.e for the Socia. Sciences (SPSS) softwa.e using a.propria.e tests. Results: The study involved 154 pa.ients (boys:girls = 56.5:43.5) a.ed 3 to 16 yea.s. Pa.ients of 11 yea.s a.d older ma.e 57.1% of the sa.ple. Most pa.ients suffered from severe ma.a.ia.(35.1%, glomerula. a.d hea.t disea.es with respectively 16.2% a.d 9.1%. The globa. proportion of hypertensive pa.ients wa. 27%, 39% a.d 5.2% respectively ba.ed on references of the French society of nephrology, those of the 4th report of the NHBPEP a.d sta.da.d devia.ion. Looking for a.socia.ed fa.tors with hypertension the logistic regression found no predictor for hypertension using pressure cut-offs va.ues ba.ed on the French society of nephrology a.d those of the 4th report of the Na.iona. High Blood Pressure Educa.ion Progra.m (NHBPEP). Conclusion: Children must be checked for hypertension to a.oid orga. da.a.e a.d la.er ca.diova.cula. complica.ions. Ba.kground: a.a.ta.ica.hierochuntica.L. (Bra.sica.ea.) ha. been cla.med to trea. va.ious conditions, including complica.ed childbirth. The principa. objective of this resea.ch wa. to provide scientific evidence on the contra.tile effect of the a.ueous a.d hydroetha.olic extra.ts of the whole pla.t from a. hierochuntica.during la.or. Method: Qua.ita.ive a.d qua.tita.ive methods helped identify a.d qua.tify the phytoconstituents in both extra.ts. The a.tioxida.t a.tivity wa. studied using four sta.da.d methods (a.TS, DPPH, FRa., a.d LPO). Results: The inhibitory power of the extra.ts on pro-infla.ma.ory enzymes such a. 15-lipoxygena.e a.d phospholipa.e a.sub>2 wa. determined. The contra.tile effects of the extra.ts were eva.ua.ed using isola.ed pregna.t mice uteri. Steroids, triterpenoids, fla.onoids, ta.nins, couma.ins, a.d reduced compounds were identified in both extra.ts. The hydroetha.olic extra.t exhibited higher content of hydrolyza.le ta.nins (15.07 ± 0.24 mg ta.nic a.id equiva.ent/g) tha. the a.ueous decoction (11.8 ± 0.69 mg Ta./g). The extra.ts demonstra.ed the a.ility to sca.enge DPPH a.d a.TS ra.ica.s, reduce ferric ions, a.d inhibit especia.ly lipid peroxida.ion. No significa.t difference wa. noted in the phospholipa.e inhibition between the extra.ts a.d beta.etha.one. The letha. dose (LD50) of extra.ts wa. estima.ed to be superior to 2000 mg/kg body weight (bw). The a.ility of the sa.ples to produce one cm a.plitude of contra.tion a. 50% effective concentra.ions (EC50) wa. 5.33 × 10−8 ± 0.32 mg/mL for oxytocin, 1.51 ± 0.08 mg/mL for a.ueous extra.t a.d 3.57 ± 0.61 mg/mL for hydroetha.olic extra.t. Conclusion: These findings could provide evidence for using a.a.ta.ica.hierochuntica.to fa.ilita.e childbirth.

Objectives: The ma.n goa. of this study is to determine the hospita. frequency of a.pendicula. a.scess, to describe the dia.nostic a.d thera.eutic a.pects a.d to a.a.yze the postopera.ive follow-up. Methodology: This wa. a.descriptive a.d a.a.ytica. prospective study from Ja.ua.y 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021 including pa.ients a.mitted to our depa.tment for a.pendicula. a.scess dia.nosed pre- a.d or intra.pera.ively a.d confirmed to histology. Results: We collected 30 a.pendicula. a.scesses tha. a.counted for 18.75% of emergency interventions. The 16 - 25 a.e group wa. the most represented a. 53%. The a.era.e a.e wa. 24 yea.s with extremes of 10 a.d 58 yea.s. The ma.e sex wa. mostly represented (60%) with a.sex ra.io of 1.5. The ma.ority of our pa.ients were students (53.3%). The ma.n clinica. signs found were a.domina. pa.n a.d vomiting (100%). The pa.n wa. loca.ized in the Right Ilia. Fossa.(RIF) in 80% of ca.es. Fever wa. present in a.l our pa.ients with a.tempera.ure between 38˚C a.d 38.5˚C. The physica. exa.ina.ion found pa.n with defense of the right ilia. fossa.in 93.3% of ca.es. a.pa.nful ma.s wa. present in 27 pa.ients (90%). Trea.ment consisted of a.pendectomy with a.scess dra.na.e in a.l pa.ients. Postopera.ive follow-up wa. simple in 83.3% of ca.es;we recorded three ca.es (10%) of pa.ieta. suppura.ion, one ca.e of fistula.(3.3%) a.d one dea.h. Conclusion: a.pendicula. a.scess is a.medica.-surgica. emergency frequent surgery in our context beca.se of the dela. in dia.nosis. It is a.condition with low morbidity a.d morta.ity subject to ea.ly dia.nosis a.d prompt a.d a.propria.e trea.ment.
