VGQ-Vor： extending virtual grid quadtree with Voronoi diagram for mobile k nearest neighbor queries over mobile objects

Performing mobile k nearest neighbor （MkNN） queries whilst also being mobile is a challenging problem. All the mobile objects issuing queries and/or being queried are mobile. The performance of this kind of query relies heav- ily on the maintenance of the current locations of the objects. The index used for mobile objects must support efficient up- date operations and efficient query handling. This study aims to improve the performance of the MkNN queries while re- ducing update costs. Our approach is based on an observa- tion that the frequency of one region changing between being occupied or not by mobile objects is much lower than the frequency of the position changes reported by the mobile ob- jects. We first propose an virtual grid quadtree with Voronoi diagram （VGQ-Vor）, which is a two-layer index structure that indexes regions occupied by mobile objects in a quadtree and builds a Voronoi diagram of the regions. Then we propose a moving k nearest neighbor （kNN） query algorithm on the VGQ-Vor and prove the correctness of the algorithm. The ex- perimental results show that the VGQ-Vor outperforms the existing techniques （Bx-tree, Bdual-tree） by one to three or- ders of magnitude in most cases.

Targeting the problem of available water conservation in sand fixation, the sand-fixing and grass-planting materials were prepared with clay modified by emulsifying vegetable waxes and octylphenol polyoxyethylene ether （OP4）. The water retention property was studied in simulating desertification environmental climate and the materials were characterized by means of UV-Vis, SEM, FTIR, XRD and TGA measurements. The experimental result showed that the materials had excellent water retention properties, due to that vegetable waxes adhered evenly to clay particle surfaces, made the clay pores changing from hydrophilic to hydrophobic and so inhibited the water evaporation. Grass-planting experiment showed that, with reasonable mass ratio of clay, vegetable waxes and surfactant, the materials not only inhibited water evaporation but also maintained sound air permeability so shat the germination rate and survival rate of grass were significantly improved.

Thirty-seven years since reform and opening up, China has sustained rapid economic growth and urbanization. However, there was inadequate protection of natural, historical, and cultural heritage, especially in the past 17 years, which led to the outcome that urban and rural construction lacked features. To rebuild our urban features during urbanization, and avoid destroying them,we should probe into the reason of lacking features and how to protect them. Therefore, taking Jinan City as an example, this paper explored the crisis and its causes of urban characteristics during the period of rapid urbanization based on discussing roles of spring features, including economic effects, social effects, ecological effects and so on. What is more, this paper listed and analyzed those protection measures taken by Jinan. The results showed that spring groups spewed again and kept for 8 years through those measures, which meant that urban characteristics restored. Thus, Jinan City provides successful and significant reference for other cities in restoring urban features during urbanization construction. Also, the author deemed that cities could recollect their urban features as long as they take reasonable measures.

The most important performance indicator of a fertilizer metering mechanism is the evenness of fertilizer *** this study,a regression mathematical model between the key operating parameters of the fluted roller meter and the flow evenness was developed to simulate a fluted-roller meter for metering diammonium phosphate fertilizer using the discrete element method(DEM).The model was verified by bench test using the same equipment and parameters as the DEM *** working parameters of the fluted-roller meter,including roll length(L),roll rotational speed(n),and flap angle(α)(for fertilizer discharge control),were optimized to maximize the flow *** evenness was assessed by the coefficient of variation(CV)of the discharging mass during the *** simulation and experiment results showed the similar trends,in terms of effects of machine parameters on the *** relative errors ranged from 0.2%to 34.6%with a mean of 10.5%.This demonstrated that the DEM model was feasible to simulate the metering process of the fluted-roller *** machine parameters that significantly affected the values of CV in descending order wereα,L and *** simulation and measurement results revealed that the optimal machine parameters,represented by the minimum value of CV,were observed at L=45 mm,n=55 r/min andα=22.5°.This combination of parameters returned CV values of 10.89%and 9.55%for simulations and measurements,*** study provided useful information for guiding the design and selection of machine parameters for metering devices for fertilizer applications.

Stachyose is a prebiotic that traditionally extracted from plants,such as *** has been demonstrated to alleviate intestinal inflammation by regulating gut microbiota,but the mechanism has been *** research aims to detect the potential mechanism of stachyose in alleviating the severity of ulcerative colitis(UC).The results indicated that the administration of stachyose could recover the body weight,protect against the colonic tissue damage,reduce the pro-inflammatory cytokines levels,and reverse the histological abnormalities in UC *** stachyose could restore dextran sulfate sodium(DSS)-induced disturbance in intestinal ***,the metabolome result of serum samples showed that stachyose treatment significantly altered serum metabolites against inflammatory responses in colitis ***,a significant correlation can be found between 23 metabolite biomarkers and 18 differential *** results provided a strong foundation for the future study of the protective role of stachyose in maintaining intestinal homeostasis.

Effect of MR Field Strength on the Texture Features of Cerebral T2-FLAIR Images: A Pilot Study

Objective To investigate effect of MR field strength on texture features of cerebral T2 fluid attenuated inversion recovery(T2-FLAIR)*** We acquired cerebral 3 D T2-FLAIR images of thirty patients who were diagnosed with ischemic white matter lesion(WML)with MR-1.5 T and MR-3.0 T *** texture features which included mean signal intensity(Mean),Skewness and Kurtosis,and gray level co-occurrence matrix(GLCM)texture features which included angular second moment(ASM),Contrast,Correlation,Inverse difference moment(IDM)and Entropy,of regions of interest located in the area of WML and normal white matter(NWM)were measured by ImageJ *** texture parameters acquired with MR-1.5 T scanning were compared with MR-3.0 T *** The Mean of both WML and NWM obtained with MR-1.5 T scanning was significantly lower than that acquired with MR-3.0 T(P0.05).ASM,Correlation and IDM of both WML and NWM acquired with MR-1.5 T revealed significantly lower values than those with MR-3.0 T(P<0.001),while Contrast and Entropy acquired with MR-1.5 T showed significantly higher values than those with MR-3.0 T(P<0.001).Conclusion MR field strength showed no significant effect on histogram textures,while had significant effect on GLCM texture features of cerebral T2-FLAIR images,which indicated that it should be cautious to explain the texture results acquired based on the different MR field strength.

Background: Secretory otitis media (SOM) patients usually complain about tinnitus accompanied with a sensation of hearing loss and ear fullness. Investigation of the association between Sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL) and tinnitus has been rarely reported. Methods: The clinical records of 34 patients with unilateral SOM accompanied with tinnitus were reviewed in search of bone conduct (BC) hearing thresholds and Tinnitus Handicap Inventory (THI). All the enrolled patients take audio-gram and THI preoperative and three month’s postoperative between February 2015 and January 2016. Differences between the affected side and the other in BC threshold, preoperatively and postoperatively were calculated. Correlations between BC thresholds’ lose and change of the THI scores’ postoperative data were analyzed. Results: The mean BC thresholds of the SOM ears preoperative were 18.3 ± 10.7 dBHL, which was higher than the other ear (16.6 ± 8.8 dBHL, t = 2.105, p t = 3.510, p t = 6.958, p t = 3.195, p t = 3.057, p Conclusion: SOM could bring about SNHL and tinnitus which reduced post-operatively. In addition, Tinnitus has correlation with bone-conduct hearing thresholds and conductive hearing loss.
