In the present work,we used five different versions of the quark-meson coupling(QMC)model to compute astrophysical quantities related to the GW170817 event and the neutron star cooling *** of the models are based on the original bag potential structure and three versions consider a harmonic oscillator potential to confine *** bag-like models also incorporate the pasta phase used to describe the inner crust of neutron *** a simple method studied in the present work,we show that the pasta phase does not play a significant ***,the QMC model that satisfies the GW170817 constraints with the lowest slope of the symmetry energy exhibits a cooling profile compatible with observational data.

A thrombin-like serine protease, jararassin-I, was isolated from the venom of Bothrops jararaca. The protein was obtained in high yield and purity by a single chromatographic step using the affinity resin Benzamidine-Sepharose CL-6B. SDS-PAGE and dynamic light scattering analyses indicated that the molecular mass of the enzyme was about 30 kD. The enzyme possessed fibrinogenolytic and coagulant activities. The jararassin-I degraded the Bβ chain of fibrinogen while theAα chain and γ chain were unchanged. Proteases inhibitors, PMSF and benzamidine inhibited the coagulant activity. These results showed jararassin- I is a serine protease similar to coagulating thrombin-like snake venom proteases, but it specifically cleaves Bβ chain of bovine fibrinogen. Single crystals of enzyme were obtained (0.2 mm×0.2 mm×0.2 mm) and used for X-ray diffraction experiments.

Biosensors have been developed using various types of sensing elements like biomacromolecules (viz. enzymes, antibodies, receptors, nucleic acids, etc.) organelles, tissues, intact cells of both microorganisms and higher organisms. A recent trend is the emergence of aptamers as sensing elements that has the potential to replace all the above ligands. This is possible due to the unique features of aptamers (sensitivity, specificity, reusability, stability, non-immunogenic- ity), which can be easily exploited in biosensor technology. Aptasensors are thus basically biosensors based on aptamers as ligand molecules. Here we review the various applications of aptasensors in health (specifically in diagnostics), food industry and environmental monitoring.

Impact of Climate Variability on Yield of Spring Wheat in North Dakota

Agricultural production is highly dependent on the climatic variability of the specific regions. Differential climatic and soil conditions bring about changes in yield, quality of crops thus affecting the economy. This study evaluated the impact of variability in different climatic factors keeping the other factors constant on spring wheat production in North Dakota from 2007 to 2011. The spring wheat yield mainly depends on the climatic changes during growing periods April to September. Average maximum air temperature was significantly different from April to September except June from 2007 to 2011. High average minimum and maximum air temperatures during planting time increase yield and planting area for 2010. In 2011, low mean soil temperature, excess rainfall in April caused low yield of spring wheat. The unmitigated climate variability will result in declines in yields. So, adoption of sustainable agriculture practices helps the farmers to develop the different practices for their farms.

Echinococcosis is a parasitic disease caused by the ,larval forms of echinococci. It has two main forms as the unilocular cystic form that is more commonly seen and caused by E. granulosus and the alveolar form that is rarely seen and caused by E. multilocularis. E. multilocularis usually contaminates from foxes and sometimes contaminates from domestic animals as dogs and cats to humans and usually affects the liver. Progression of alveolar echinococcosis is more severe and agressive. It can metastise to the lungs, brain and bones. We present a case of alveolar echinococcosis that was initially thought to be a lymphomatous infiltration but then determined to infect the liver, lung and brain in a patient with a large T-cell lymphoma.

公益广告为社会所需要,它既有利于公众利益,又有利于和谐社会的营造,已成为了解一个国家价值观和社会文化等的重要窗口,因此对其研究意义重大。另外,公益广告是引导公众实施某种公益行为,可视为一种指令行为。中韩公益广告中,社会公德类公益广告所占的比重最高,其主题内容上最贴近个人和公众,且与公众正确的行为规范有着很深的关联,可以说,此类公益广告对公众提出的某种要求,具有强烈的指令意义。指令类言语行为要指示人实施某种指令,因此在指令类言语行为实施方式上需要与之相应的有效表达方式,本论文则主要对中韩社会公德类公益广告指令行为的表达进行了对比分析。第一部分对本论文的研究对象、研究内容、理论基础及研究意义进行说明,并对中韩两国公益广告的界定进行了比较。第二部分考察了中国社会公德类公益广告指令类言语行为的表达方式。这里指令类言语行为表达方式的分类是按照Blum-kulka九种请求策略进行的。中国社会公德类公益广告指令行为主要通过语气导出、施为动词性、询问准备、暗示四种形式表现出来。另外,表达叙述特征上,主要有通过理性诉求的指令行为表达和通过韵律平衡的指令行为表达这两个特征;在功能上,中国社会公德类公益广告的指令行为主要具有信息传达功能和宣教功能。第三部分考察了韩国社会公德类指令类言语行为的表达方式。韩国社会公德类公益广告指令行为主要通过语气导出、义务陈述、建议表达、询问准备、暗示等方式表现出来。另外,韩国社会公德类公益广告的指令行为叙述特征上,主要有通过感性诉求表达指令行为和“故事讲述”的方式表达指令行为这两个特征。在功能上,韩国社会公德类公益广告指令行为主要具有反思功能和说服功能。第四部分是对中韩两国公益广告指令行为表达进行对比分析。主要是分析两国公益广告指令行为表达上明显的异同点。最后是总结。综上,本文对中韩社会公德类公益广告指令行为的表达进行了对比分析,以期对今后中韩两国公益广告指令行为的研究有所拓展,并期待通过指令表达的对比分析增进对两国社会文化的了解。

Raman probing of carbon electrode and electrolyte under dynamic conditions is performed here using different aqueous electrolytes to elucidate the fundamental events occurring in electrochemical supercapacitor during charge–discharge *** areal capacitance ranges from 1.54 to 2.31μF cm^(-2)μm and it is determined using different *** findings indicate that the Helmholtz capacitance governs the overall charge-storage process instead of the space charge(quantum)capacitance commonly verified for HOPG electrodes in the range of~3 to 7μF cm^(-2).Molecular dynamics simulations are employed to elucidate the origin of the reversible Raman spectral changes during the charge–discharge processes.A correlation is verified between the reversible Raman shift and the surface excesses of the different ionic species.A theoretical framework is presented to relate the effect of the applied potential on the Raman shift and its correlation with the surface ionic *** is proposed that the Raman shift is governed by the interaction of solvated cations with graphite promoted by polarization *** is the first time that a comparative study on different aqueous electrolyte p H and cation ion size has been performed tracking the Raman spectra change under dynamic polarization conditions and contrasting with comprehensive electrochemistry and dynamic molecular simulations *** study shines lights onto the charge-storage mechanism with evidence of Kohn anomaly reduction in the carbon electrode during the reversible adsorption/desorption and insertion/extraction of ionic species.

Antifungal activity of natural compounds against Candida species isolated from HIV-positive patients

Objective: To evaluate the antifungal effect of Cinnamomum zeylanicum(C. zeylanicum) and Melaleuca alternifolia essential oils and honey against strains of Candida sp. from HIV-positive patients in order to subsidize new therapeutic strategies for ***: The study evaluated the antifungal effect of natural antimicrobials against 30 strains of Candida sp. isolated from oral cavities in HIV-infected patients. Then, they were compared to the action of fl uconazole and amphotericin B. Antifungal susceptibility was evaluated by the broth macrodilution technique and the minimum inhibitory concentration and the minimum fungicidal concentration were ***: Among all antifungals evaluated in this study, amphotericin B was the one showing the best results; however, all compounds studied here showed inhibitory activities against isolates of Candida sp. Honey(0.031 3 to 64 μg/m L) demonstrated fungistatic activity inhibiting 70% of the isolates. C. zeylanicum essential oil(0.031 3 to 64 μg/m L) inhibited 93.3% of the Candida strains and Melaleuca alternifolia essential oil(0.031 3 to 64 μg/m L) was able to inhibit 73.3% of ***: Therefore, all natural compounds evaluated in this study, especially C. zeylanicum essential oil, may become promising agents for oral candidiasis therapy including in HIV-positive patients.
