The growth in wireless technologies applications makes the necessity of providing a reliable communication over wireless networks become *** real time communication in wireless medium poses a significant challenge due to its poor delivery *** this study,a recovery and redundancy model based on sequential time division multiple access(S-TDMA)for wireless communication is *** media access control(MAC)layer of the S-TDMA determines which station should transmit at a given time slot based on channel state of the *** of the system models were carried out using MATLAB SIMULINK *** blocks from the signal processing and communication block sets were used to model the communication *** S-TDMA performance is evaluated with total link reliability,system throughput,average probability of correct delivery before deadline and system *** evaluation results displayed in graphs when compared with instant retry and drop of frame were found to be reliable in recovering loss packets.

This paper presents issues and trepidations associated with transferring from conventional methods of electricity monitoring and distribution to the cyberspace, especially in developing countries like Nigeria where current approaches have failed to provide regular, reliable electric power. The Smart Power Grid is a developing concept already put to test, successfully, in very advanced countries. The implementation of the Smart Grid will include the deployment of many new technologies and multiple communication infrastructures. Connecting the electricity grid to the Internet can provide a lot of advantages in terms of control, data viewing and generation. However, in Nigeria, the proposal to transfer conventional methods to the Smart Grid has perhaps not hit the deck yet because of excessive focus on power generation, and because of the annotated reservations associated with the Internet, as the Smart Grid involves circulation and dispersal via inter-networking structures. This paper describes the key technologies that support Power Grid substation automation, summarizes the mode of implementation into the existing Nigerian electrical infrastructure and brings fore issues and mitigating approaches to provide a seamless and securitised transfer of the current power grid to the Smart Grid.

With the continuous use of cloud and distributed computing, the threats associated with data and information technology (IT) in such an environment have also increased. Thus, data security and data leakage prevention have become important in a distributed environment. In this aspect, mobile agent-based systems are one of the latest mechanisms to identify and prevent the intrusion and leakage of the data across the network. Thus, to tackle one or more of the several challenges on Mobile Agent-Based Information Leakage Prevention, this paper aim at providing a comprehensive, detailed, and systematic study of the Distribution Model for Mobile Agent-Based Information Leakage Prevention. This paper involves the review of papers selected from the journals which are published in 2009 and 2019. The critical review is presented for the distributed mobile agent-based intrusion detection systems in terms of their design analysis, techniques, and shortcomings. Initially, eighty-five papers were identified, but a paper selection process reduced the number of papers to thirteen important reviews.

Surgical management of spontaneous rupture of primary liver cell carcinoma:a case report

Primary liver cell carcinoma (PLCC) or Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most common primary malignant liver tumor in Nigeria. It is a difficult problem in surgery for the diagnosis and therapy of spontaneous liver rupture. The clinical presentation can be varied owing to its clinical signs being usually not specific; therefore, correct diagnosis and management are very important. Without any treatment, the outcome is poor and survival rate is only 10%. Surgeons operate on those patients who present with ruptured PLCC; consisting of packing, hepatic artery ligation and hepatectomy. However, it is often associated with a high mortality rate; as high as 70%, even for the less invasive procedures like packing, argon beam coagulation or hepatic artery ligation. We present a 24-year old lady who had ligation of hepatic artery at an emergency laparotomy for ruptured primary liver cell carcinoma.

Fecal Metabolomes in Response to Feed Supplemented with Fermented <i>Parkia biglobosa</i>and <i>Sphenostylis stenocarpa</i>in Obese Rats

The ubiquitous consumption of junk foods has drastically contributed to the exponential rise in the incidence of obesity. Hence, the present study explores the therapeutic effect of selected indigenous wild bean Sphenostylis stenocarpa (Otili) and condiment fermented Parkia biglobosa (Iru) on obese rats. The rats were fed with a high fat diet for four weeks and the gut microbiota was monitored every other day throughout the period of the experiment. Then, the fecal metabolome was analysed by Gas Chromatography Mass Spectroscopy (GC-MS). Although there was a decrease in the mean weight of rats treated with fermented iru compared with those given Otili, it was not statistically significantly (p ≤ 0.05). The organisms identified from the fecal samples of the fermented Iru groups are Proteus vulgaris, Bacillus cereus and Esherichia coli while those identified from the Otili group include Escherichia coli, and Citrobacter Freundii. However, further study revealed that Otili and Iru had a similar faecal metabolome. Medium chain fatty acids, such as Decanoic acid, Octanoic acid, ethyl tetradecanoate, Hexadecanoic acid, Methyl tetradecanoate, 9-Hexadecanoic acid, Hexadecnoic acid, cis-10-Hepadecanoic acid, are the most common compounds found in this study. This suggests the fact that the associated gut microbiota from breakdown of respective food samples must have actively mediated in their roles of ameliorating the effect of obesity.
