The development of portable X-ray detectors is necessary for diagnosing fractures in unconscious patients in emergency ***,this is quite challenging because of the heavy weight of the scintillator and silicon *** weight and thickness of X-ray detectors can be reduced by replacing the silicon layer with an organic *** study presents a novel bithienopyrroledione-based polymer donor that exhibits excellent photodetection properties even in a thick photoactive layer(~700 nm),owing to the symmetric backbone and highly soluble molecular structure of *** ability of bithienopyrroledione-based polymer donor to strongly suppress the dark current density(Jd~10−10 A cm^(−2))at a negative bias(−2.0 V)while maintaining high responsivity(R=0.29 A W−1)even at a thickness of 700 nm results in a maximum shot-noise-limited specific detectivity of D_(sh)^(*)=2.18×10^(13)Jones in the organic *** organic photodetectors are developed by slot-die coating for use in X-ray detectors,which exhibit D_(sh)^(*)=2.73×10^(12)Jones with clear rising(0.26 s)and falling(0.29 s)response times upon X-ray *** reliability is also proven by linear response of the X-ray detector,and the X-ray detection limit is 3 mA.

Comparison of Depth Dose Distributions Using Cerenkov Fiber-Optic Dosimeter and Monte Carlo Simulation for HDR Brachytherapy

In this study, we fabricated a Cerenkov fiber-optic dosimeter (CFOD) without any scintillator to measure Cerenkov radiation signals owing to gamma-rays. The relative depth dose (RDD) distributions of Ir-192 HDR brachytherapy source were obtained by using the CFOD based on a subtraction method and the RDD curve was compared with the simulation result of Monte Carlo N-particle extended transport code (MCNPX). Finally, we demonstrated that the CFOD can be used to measure real-time dose information for HDR brachytherapy.

In the last decade,numerous kinds of nanoscale materials have been *** characteristics are critically influenced by their synthetic or fabrication *** this review article,we introduce perfect crystal gold nanowires(Au NWs) synthesized by vapor transport method and summarize their material properties and biological ***-crystalline Au NWs having no defects or twins show unique mechanical,electrical,and electrochemical ***,they are exceptionally competent in penetrating cells or tissues with minimum biological damage and in the electrical analysis and manipulation of biological activities in the cells and/or *** is expected that the Au NWs would give us technological breakthrough in diverse applications such as nanoscale functional components as well as new insights in fundamental material science.

Dear Editor,Eliminating misfolded or mistargeted proteins is crucial for cell viability because these proteins accumulate as non-specific aggregates, which can be toxic to the cell （lee et al., 2009; Sroka et al., 2009）. Previously, we have shown that in ppi2 （plastid protein import 2） mutant plants, the transcript levels of Hsc70-4 （one isoform of the Hsc70 family） and CHIP （an E3 ligase） were highly upregulated, which ultimately plays crucial roles in proteasomal degradation of unimported plastid proteins （lee et al., 2009）. We also found that, along with those of Hsc70-4 and CHIP, the transcript level of AtBAG1 （Arabidopsis thaliana Bcl2-associated athanogene 1） in the ppi2 mutant was 2.38-fold higher than that in the wild-type （lee et al., 2009）.
