The overgrowth of weeds growing along with the primary crop in the fields reduces crop *** solutions like hand weeding are labor-intensive,costly,and time-consuming;farmers have used *** application of herbicide is effective but causes environmental and health ***,Precision Agriculture(PA)suggests the variable spraying of herbicides so that herbicide chemicals do not affect the primary *** by the gap above,we proposed a Deep Learning(DL)based model for detecting Eggplant(Brinjal)weed in this *** key objective of this study is to detect plant and non-plant(weed)parts from crop *** the help of object detection,the precise location of weeds from images can be *** dataset is collected manually from a private farm in Gandhinagar,Gujarat,*** combined approach of classification and object detection is applied in the proposed *** Convolutional Neural Network(CNN)model is used to classify weed and non-weed images;further DL models are applied for object *** have compared DL models based on accuracy,memory usage,and Intersection over Union(IoU).ResNet-18,YOLOv3,CenterNet,and Faster RCNN are used in the proposed *** outperforms all other models in terms of accuracy,i.e.,88%.Compared to other models,YOLOv3 is the least memory-intensive,utilizing 4.78 GB to evaluate the data.

Cancer stem cells: Involvement in pancreatic cancer pathogenesis and perspectives on cancer therapeutics

Pancreatic cancer is one of the most aggressive and lethal malignancies. Despite remarkable progress in understanding pancreatic carcinogenesis at the molecular level, as well as progress in new therapeutic approaches, pancreatic cancer remains a disease with a dismal prognosis. Among the mechanisms responsible for drug resistance, the most relevant are changes in individual genes or signaling pathways and the presence of highly resistant cancer stem cells(CSCs). In pancreatic cancer, CSCs represent 0.2%-0.8% of pancreatic cancer cells and are considered to be responsible for tumor growth, invasion, metastasis and recurrence. CSCs have been extensively studied as of late to identify specific surface markers to ensure reliable sorting and for signaling pathways identified to play a pivotal role in CSC self-renewal. Involvement of CSCs in pancreatic cancer pathogenesis has also highlighted these cells as the preferential targets for therapy. The present review is an update of the results in two main fields of research in pancreatic cancer, pathogenesis and therapy, focused on the narrow perspective of CSCs.

Microbiological Quality of Traditional Romanian Cheeses from the Rucar-Bran Pass and its Surrounding Regions

The traditional products＇ quality is often recognized based on organoleptic characteristics without considering the microbiological features, which bring a special note to these products＇ composition and aroma. It is especially the case of cheeses, whose taste varies from one geographical region to another depending on specific flora and technological processes used in traditional systems. The paper tries to bring new elements on the methodology used in order to elucidate some aspects related to traditional products＇ quality, products obtained by private producers in the Bra^ov district （Rucar-Bran pass）. Covasna district and Bistrita Nasaud district were analyzed organoleptically, physico-chemically and microbiologically samples of fresh cow cheese, soft cow cheese, smoked curd cheese, gaiter cheese and cottage cheese taken within the strategic and self-control program from individuals in the rural areas of Fundata, Poiana Sibiului, Sirnea, Pfirliu, Cristian, Cincaor, Sohodol, Ranov, Brarov, Bod, Roadea, Harnan, Prejmer, Soars, Rupea, Lunca Calnicului, Balanii, Mari, Bran, Buzaiel, Bacut, H~.lchiu, Fagraa, Moeciu de Sus, Purcaareni, Bran-Simon, Venelia de Jos, Vama Buzatului, lntorsura Buzaului, Vatrghia and Sita Buzaului.

B2 adrenergic receptors and morphological changes of the enteric nervous system in colorectal adenocarcinoma

To study the morphology of the enteric nervous system and the expression of beta-2 adrenergic (B2A) receptors in primary colorectal *** this study, we included forty-eight patients with primary colorectal cancer and nine patients for control tissue from the excision of a colonic segment for benign conditions. We determined the clinicopathological features and evaluated the immunohistochemical expression pattern of B2A receptors as well as the morphological changes of the enteric nervous system (ENS). In order to assess statistical differences, we used the student t-test for comparing the means of two groups and one-way analysis of variance with Bonferroni’s post hoc analysis for comparing the means of more than two groups. Correlations were assessed using the Pearson’s correlation ***2A receptors were significantly associated with tumor grading, tumor size, tumor invasion, lymph node metastasis (P 0.05). We observed, on one hand, a decrease of the relative area for both Auerbach and Meissner plexuses with the increase of the tumor grading, and on the other hand, an increase of the relative area of other nervous elements not in the Meissner plexus or in the Auerbach plexus with the tumor grading. For G1 tumors we found that epithelial B2A area showed an inverse correlation with the Auerbach plexus areas [r(14) = -0.531, P < 0.05], while for G2 tumors, epithelial B2A areas showed an indirect variation with both the Auerbach plexus areas [r(14) = -0.453, P < 0.05] and the Meissner areas [r(14) = -0.825, P < 0.01]. For G3 tumors, the inverse dependence increased for both Auerbach [r(14) = -0.587, P < 0.05] and Meissner [r(14) = -0.934, P < 0.05] ***2A receptors play an important role in colorectal carcinogenesis and can be utilized as prognostic factors. We report on a two-arm hybrid high-power laser system(HPLS) able to deliver 2 × 10 PW femtosecond pulses,developed at the Bucharest-Magurele Extreme Light Infrastructure Nuclear Physics(ELI-NP) Facility. A hybrid frontend(FE) based on a Ti:sapphire chirped pulse amplifier and a picosecond optical parametric chirped pulse amplifier based on beta barium borate(BBO) crystals, with a cross-polarized wave(XPW) filter in between, has been *** delivers 10 mJ laser pulses, at 10 Hz repetition rate, with more than 70 nm spectral bandwidth and high-intensity contrast, in the range of 1013:1. The high-energy Ti:sapphire amplifier stages of both arms were seeded from this common FE. The final high-energy amplifier, equipped with a 200 mm diameter Ti:sapphire crystal, has been pumped by six 100 J nanosecond frequency doubled Nd:glass lasers, at 1 pulse/min repetition rate. More than 300 J output pulse energy has been obtained by pumping with only 80% of the whole 600 J available pump energy. The compressor has a transmission efficiency of 74% and an output pulse duration of 22.7 fs was measured, thus demonstrating that the dual-arm HPLS has the capacity to generate 10 PW peak power femtosecond pulses. The reported results represent the cornerstone of the ELI-NP 2 × 10 PW femtosecond laser facility, devoted to fundamental and applied nuclear physics research.

Photodynamic Therapy on B16 Cells with Tetrasulphonated Porphyrin and Different Light Sources

The aim of this paper is to explore the patyhway of mouse melanoma B16 cells death and the effects on their cell cycle induced by 5,10,15,20-tetra-p-sulphonato-phenyl-porphyrin-based photodynamic therapy (TSPP-PDT), excited by light with a specific wavelength. TSPP was studied at different photodynamic wavelength from different laser types. Also, this porphyrin was evaluated as an inducer of photodamage on B16 (mouse melanoma). These effects frequently lead to induction of apoptosis by the mitochondrial pathway involving caspases. The viability studies showed that B16 mouse melanoma is sensitive to photodynamic damage induced by TSPP. B16 melanoma cells were incubated with 1mM TSPP for either one, two, three or four hours. The control had TSPP added immediately prior to timelapse imaging (no incubation). They were then irradiated with red light He-Ne laser (λ = 632.8 nm, power 180 J/cm2 for 20 minutes). A 375 W Hg medium pressure lamp provided a wavelength of 470nm +/- 20nm with bandpass filter. Also, it has been used a laser diode GaInAs (25 mW/cm2, λ =650 nm). The cells demonstrated clear morphological changes associated with apoptosis. There were changes in texture, as expected. Changes appeared to occur more quickly at lamp irradiation than at HeNe and GaInAs diode laser. Addition of TSPP just prior to exposure and observation, with no incubation, did not showed in changes in cell morphology or cell death.

We report on the generation and delivery of 10.2 PW peak power laser pulses,using the High Power Laser System at the Extreme Laser Infrastructure–Nuclear Physics *** this work we demonstrate for the first time,to the best of our knowledge,the compression and propagation of full energy,full aperture,laser pulses that reach a power level of more than 10 PW.
