A high-performance liquid chromatography-electrospray ioniz.tion tandem mass spectrometric （HPLC- ESI-MS/MS） method was developed for the quantification of MHl148-clorgyline amide （NMl-amide）, a novel tumor-targeting monoamine oxidase A inhibitor, in mouse plasma. The method was validated in terms of sensitivity, precision, accuracy, recovery and stability and then applied to a pharmacokinetic study of NMl-amide in mice following intravenous administration. NMl-amide together with the internal standard （IS）, MHI-148, was extracted by protein precipitation using acetonitrile. Multiple reaction monitoring was used for quantification of NMl-amide by detecting m/z.transition of 491.2-361.9, and 685.3-258.2 for NMl-amide and the IS, respectively. The lower limit of quantification （LLOQ） of the HPLC- MS/MS method for NMl-amide was 0.005 μg/mL and the linear calibration curve was acquired with R2〉 0.99 in the concentration range of 0.005-2μg/mL. The intra- and inter-day precisions of the assay were assessed by percentage of the coefficient of variations, which was within 9.8% at LLOQ and 14.0% for other quality control samples, whereas the mean accuracy ranged from 86.8% to 113.2%. The samples were stable under storage and experimental conditions. This method was successfully applied to a pharmacokinetic study in mice following intravenous administration of 5 mg/kg NMl-amide.

3d transition metal oxides based thin film coatings such as copper–cobalt oxides exhibit high absorption in the visible region and low emittance in the infrared to far-infrared region of the solar spectrum which is favourable for use as potential selective surface materials in photothermal devices. These materials have the potential to minimiz. heating while increasing absorption in the operative spectrum range and therefore achieve higher solar selectivity. A series of mixed copper–cobalt metal spinel oxides（Cu_xCo_yO_z.doped with graphene oxide thin films were deposited on commercial grade aluminium substrates using a sol-gel dip-coating technique at an annealing temperature of 500 °C in air for 1 h. Characteriz.tions of the synthesiz.d films were carried out by high temperature synchrotron radiation X-ray Diffraction（SRXRD）, UV–Vis, Fourier Transform infrared spectroscopy（FTIR） and X-ray photoelectron microscopy（XPS）techniques. High thermal stability of coatings with multiple phases, binary and ternary metal oxides, was defined through SR-XRD study. FTIR analysis shows moderate（〈80%） to high（up to 99%） reflectance in the infrared region while the UV–Vis investigations demonstrate that, in the visible region, solar absorption increases gradually（up to 95%） with the addition of graphene oxide to the Cu_x Co_y O_z.*** the incorporation of 1.5 wt.% of graphene oxide to the copper–cobalt oxide coatings, a high solar selectivity of 29.01（the ratio of the average solar absorptance in visible and the average thermal emittance in infrared to far infrared region; α/ε） was achieved.

We review recent developments in the theory of quantum dynamics in ultracold atomic physics, including exact techniques and methods based on phase-space mappings that are applicable when the complexity becomes exponentially large. Phase-space representations include the truncated Wigner, positive-P and general Gaussian operator representations which can treat both bosons and fermions. These phase-space methods include both traditional approaches using a phase-space of classical dimension, and more recent methods that use a non-classical phase-space of increased dimensionality. Examples used include quantum Einstein Podolsky-Rosen （EPR） entanglement of a four-mode BEC, time-reversal tests of dephasing in single-mode traps, BEC quantum collisions with up to 106 modes and 105 interacting particles, quantum interferometry in a multi-mode trap with nonlinear absorption, and the theory of quantum entropy in phase-space. We also treat the approach of variational optimiz.tion of the sampling error, giving an elementary example of a nonlinear oscillator.

Western Tethyan Epeiric Ramp Setting in the Early Triassic： An Example from the Central Dinarides (Croatia)

In the central part of the External Dinarides in Plavno, Croatia, near Knin, a remarkably thick （927.5 m） Early Triassic depositional sequence was investigated. The Plavno sequence starts in the EarlyGriesbachian and ends with a continuous transition into the Anisian strata. A complete 13C isotope curve has been achieved and combined with conodonts, bivalves and ammonoids to establish and correlate stage and substage boundaries. The 613C curve is consistent with former studies. It displays a general increase from the Griesbachian to a prominent maximum beyond the ＋8%0 amplitude around the Dienerian-Smithian boundary （DSB）, followed by a steep and continuous decline to low, negative values in the Smithian. Around the Smithian-Spathian boundary （SSB） a steep rise to a second maximum occurred. It is followed by a saw-tooth shaped decline in the Spathian and a similar increase to a peak at the Spathian-Anisian boundary （SAB）. Sedimentologically, the Plavno sequence is interpreted as having been deposited on an extensive epeiric ramp under long-term transgressive conditions, sharing depositional characteristics of both the epeiric platform and the carbonate ramp. The entire Plavno sequence was deposited above the storm-wave base and was storm influenced. Three informal members are differentiated： 1） the dolostone member （Early Griesbachian）; 2） the silicielastic member （red-coloured shale, siltstone, sandstone with oolitic/bioclastie grainstone intercalations）, which can be further divided into lower, middle and upper intervals （Late Griesbachian, Dienerian and Smithian）; and 3） the mudstone member （grey lime mudstones, marls and calcisiltites with common ammonoids and gastropods- Spathian）. The Plavno sequence is compared with other western Tethyan sections. Observed differences stem from local controls on deposition in the overall shallow marine environment.

Background: Understanding the role of species identity in interactions among individuals is crucial for assessing the productivity and stability of mixed forests over time. However, there is limited knowledge concerning the variation in competitive effect and response of different species along climatic gradients. In this study, we investigated the importance of climate, tree siz., and competition on the growth of three tree species: spruce(Picea abies), fir(Abies alba), and beech(Fagus sylvatica), and examined their competitive response and effect along a climatic ***: We selected 39 plots distributed across the European mountains with records of the position and growth of 5,759 individuals. For each target species, models relating tree growth to tree siz., climate and competition were proposed. Competition was modelled using a neighbourhood competition index that considered the effects of inter-and intraspecific competition on target trees. Competitive responses and effects were related to *** methods and information theory were used to select the best ***: Our findings revealed that competition had a greater impact on target species growth than tree siz. or climate. Climate did influence the competitive effects of neighbouring species, but it did not affect the target species? response to competition. The strength of competitive effects varied along the gradient, contingent on the identity of the interacting species. When the target species exhibited an intermediate competitive effect relative to neighbouring species, both higher inter-than intraspecific competitive effects and competition reduction occurred along the gradient.
