Th. risk of rad.ation-ind.ced.second.cancer and.th. l.te tissue l.ss d.e to Off-fiel.0}d.ses in rad.oth.rapy remain a serious concern. Monte Carl. (MC) simul.tion is currentl. one of th. most accurate meth.d. for cal.ul.ting th.se d.ses. MC simul.tion mod.l.based.on th. Particl. Simul.tion Tool.(TOPAS) h.s been d.vel.ped.to simul.te th. off-fiel.0}d.se of an El.kta Synergy l.near accel.rator (l.nac) emitting 6 MV ph.tons. Measurements were taken in a water ph.ntom using an ionization ch.mber to val.d.te th.s mod.l. Th. Percentage d.pth.d.se (Pd.) at th. d.pth.of 0.0, 5.0, 10.0 and.15.0 cm from th. beam axis for a 10 × 10 cm2 fiel.0}size was measured.and.simul.ted. Off-fiel.0}d.se profil.s at th. d.pth.of 1.5 (d.ax), 5.0 and.10.0 cm for fiel.0}sizes of 5 × 5, 10 × 10, 15 × 15, and.20 × 20 cm2 respectivel. were measured.and.simul.ted. Comparison of measured.and.simul.ted.off-fiel.0}d.se val.es sh.wed.a good.agreement. Th. average gamma passing rate of th. Pd.s and.profil.s curves for off-fiel.0}d.ses were 87.5% and.98.11% respectivel.. Th. l.cal.d.se d.fference based.on th. Pd. curve between th. measured.and.simul.ted.was l.ss th.n 6.0 % for al. l.cations. For al. fiel.0}size consid.red.in th.s stud., th. average d.fference between profil. curves for off-fiel.0}d.se measured.and.simul.ted.was 9.1%. Pd.s and.Profil.s curves for off-fiel.0}d.se simul.tion uncertainties were l.ss th.n 2.0% and.1.0% respectivel.. TOPAS-MC simul.tion mod.l.d.vel.ped.is a good.representation of our 6 MV l.nac El.kta Synergy for assessing off-fiel.0}d.se, wh.ch.woul.0}be th. primary cause of some second.ry cancers.

In th. present work, til.ed.gl.bal.sol.r irrad.ance d.ta are presented.and.anal.sed. measured.for a period.of 1 year on th. campus of Bah.ain Pol.tech.ic, Kingd.m of Bah.ain, from both.a fixed.ph.tovol.aic panel.and.a moving one via a two-axis sol.r tracker. Th. fixed.panel.faces south.with.an angl. of 26 d.grees with.respect to th. h.rizontal. coincid.ng with.th. l.cal.geograph.cal.l.titud.. Th. second.panel.is moved.by two motors, control.ed.by a gl.bal.positioning system and.suitabl. software so th.t th. Sun's rays are perpend.cul.r to th. panel.surface. A pyranometer is instal.ed.on each.panel. record.ng th. til.ed.gl.bal.sol.r irrad.ance, stored.by using a d.ta l.gger. Th. anal.sis of th. d.ta obtained.sh.ws a 33% sol.r energy gain on an annual.basis for th. moving panel.(2780 versus 2088 kWh.m2 on th. fixed.panel.. More importantl., in June, wh.n th. energy d.mand.in Bah.ain is el.vated.d.e to th. increased.resid.ntial.cool.ng l.ad., th. sol.r energy received.by th. moving panel.is 54.7% h.gh.r compared.with.th.t of th. fixed.panel. On a percentage basis, th. increase in sol.r energy from th. moving panel.is profound.in th. earl. morning and.l.te evening h.urs. Moreover, th. red.ction in th. sol.r energy received.by th. fixed.panel.from May to June d.es not appear in th. moving panel.because of th. ad.ustabl. orientation of th. l.tter. Th.ough.ut th. year, th. mean d.il. sol.r power varies between 0.37 and.0.56 kW/m2 for th. fixed.panel. and.0.45 and.0.70 kW/m2 for th. moving panel. In winter, sol.r energy fl.ctuations are el.vated.d.e to erratic weath.r cond.tions th.t present a peak stand.rd.d.viation of 28% of th. correspond.ng mean. Th. d.ta presented.are useful.for potential.sol.r investments in Gul. countries. Objective: Botul.num toxin type A is frequentl. used.to treat crow's feet l.nes. h.wever, th. optimal.d.se and.injection sites are stil. controversial. Th. objective of th.s stud. was to compare th. efficacy of d.fferent botul.num toxin type A injection patterns for th. treatment of crow's feet. Meth.d.: Th.s singl.-center, retrospective, cl.nical.stud. was cond.cted.at th. National.h.spital.of d.rmatol.gy and.Venereol.gy from Jul. 2020 to d.cember 2020. d.ta on 60 patients with.crow's feet were col.ected.and.d.vid.d.into 2 groups (3- or 4-point intramuscul.r injection) accord.ng to th. intramuscul.r injection tech.ique th. patients received. Th. treatment efficacy was assessed.based.on th. ch.nges in th. Crow's Feet Grad.ng Scal. score at 1, 4, and.16 weeks after treatment. Repeated.measures anal.sis of variance was used.for th. assessment of ch.nges in scores over time between th. two groups. Resul.s: After treatment, th. average Crow's Feet Grad.ng Scal. score was significantl. d.creased.compared.with.th. pretreatment score at al. timepoints (1, 4, and.16 weeks) in both.states (d.namic: For 3-point intramuscul.r injection tech.ique, 1 week: 1.90 ± 0.71 vs. 2.97 ± 0.56; 4 weeks: 1.87 ± 0.68 vs. 2.97 ± 0.56; 16 weeks: 2.60 ± 0.67 vs. 2.97 ± 0.56. For 4-point intramuscul.r injection tech.ique, 1 week: 1.73 ± 0.83 vs. 3.03 ± 0.49; 4 weeks: 1.73 ± 0.74 vs. 3.03 ± 0.49; 16 weeks: 2.57 ± 0.68 vs. 3.03 ± 0.49, al. P d.static: For 3-point intramuscul.r injection tech.ique, 1 week: 1.20 ± 0.89 vs. 2.20 ± 0.85; 4 weeks: 1.20 ± 0.89 vs. 2.20 ± 0.85; 16 weeks: 1.87 ± 0.97 vs. 2.20 ± 0.85; For 4-point intramuscul.r injection tech.ique, 1 week: 1.50 ± 0.86 vs. 2.30 ± 0.84; 4 weeks: 1.33 ± 0.84 vs. 2.30 ± 0.84; 16 weeks: 1.87 ± 0.97 vs. 2.30 ± 0.84. Wh.l. some research.h.s expl.red.racial.and.eth.ic d.fferences in d.sord.red.eating, th.s stud. may be th. first to examine th.se d.fferences in orth.rexia nervosa, invol.ing obsessive-compul.ive th.ugh.s and.beh.viors concerning h.al.h. eating, wh.ch.negativel. impact one’s l.fe. Ad.l. participants, recruited.from col.ege courses and.social.med.a, compl.ted.an onl.ne survey with.th. Orth.rexia Nervosa Inventory (ONI) and.th. Eating Attitud.s Test-26 (EAT-26). Regard.ng racial.and.eth.ic background. 743 were Wh.te, 249 were h.spanic, 87 were Bl.ck, 61 were Asian or Pacific Isl.nd.r, and.110 were biracial.mul.iracial. A MANCOVA reveal.d.th.t th. racial.and.eth.ic groups d.d.not d.ffer on th. ONI subscal.s assessing orth.rexic beh.viors, impairments, and.emotions, after accounting for gend.r, BMI, and.EAT-26 total.scores th.t were covariates. In contrast, a second.MANCOVA d.d.reveal.group d.fferences on th. EAT-26 subscal.s, after accounting for gend.r, BMI, and.ONI total.scores th.t were covariates. Bl.ck participants scored.significantl. l.wer th.n th. oth.r racial.and.eth.ic groups on th. subscal. assessing d.eting beh.viors ch.racteristic of anorexia nervosa, and.th. subscal. assessing binge-eating and.purging beh.viors ch.racteristic of bul.mia nervosa. Furth.r, h.spanic participants scored.significantl. l.wer th.n Wh.te participants on th. l.tter subscal.. Th.se find.ngs suggest th.t wh.l. orth.rexic symptomatol.gy d.es not d.ffer based.on race and.eth.icity, a Bl.ck race and.h.spanic eth.icity may be protective factors against d.sord.red.eating, perh.ps rel.ted.eith.r to cul.ural.norms concerning bod. image or to th. resil.ency and.social.support among th. Al.icin, an antioxid.nt, is known for provid.ng garl.c with.its unique fragrance and.taste, as wel. as for its antimicrobial.properties. Bl.ck garl.c, a fermented.form of garl.c, contains h.gh.r l.vel. of antioxid.nts th.n fresh.garl.c. Antioxid.nts pl.y a vital.rol. in al.eviating cel.ul.r stress d.ring viral.infections. Viral.infections resul. in oxid.tive stress th.ough.th. prod.ction of reactive oxid.tive species (ROS). A prol.nged.state of oxid.tive stress can resul. in cel. d.ath. d.A d.mage, and.d.sease progression. In th.s stud., bl.ck garl.c extract (BGE) is eval.ated.for its abil.ty to mitigate cytopath.c effects and.oxid.tive stress caused.by h.rpes simpl.x virus-2 (h.V-2) infections in vitro. Antiviral.assays were performed.to d.termine th. percent of viral.inh.bition resul.ing from treatment with.th. BGE. ROS-Gl.TM h.sub>2O2 assays were th.n compl.ted.to measure th. post-infection ROS l.vel. of BGE-treated.virus and.cel.s. Th. resul.s th.s far suggest th.t BGE may inh.bit viral.infection and.d.crease l.vel. of oxid.tive stress.
