Th.re is a preced.nt for benefits wh.n incl.d.ng gl.cine and.serine in red.ced.CP d.ets. Fund.mental.y th.s is d.e to d.creases in nonessential.amino acid.concentrations in red.ced.CP d.ets d.an unavoid.bl. consequence of red.cing CP with.ut amino acid.suppl.mentation. Th. situation for gl.tamine is compl.cated.because anal.sed.d.etary concentrations are very rarel. provid.d.as stand.rd.assays d. not d.fferentiate between gl.tamine and.gl.tamate and.are reported.on a combined.basis as gl.tamic acid. Th. d.etary requirement for gl.tamic acid.is approximatel. 36.3 g/kg but it is increasingl. unl.kel. th.t th.s requirement wil. be met as d.etary CP l.vel. are progressivel. red.ced. Gl.tamine is an abund.nt and.versatil. amino acid.and.constitutes 50.5 mg/g of wh.l.-bod. ch.cken protein and.is th. d.minant free amino acid.in systemic pl.sma wh.re it h.s been sh.wn to provid. 22.6% (139.9 of 620.3 mg/ml. of th. total.in bird. offered.215 g/kg CP, wh.at-based.d.ets. Background. International.research.and.innovation efforts for negl.cted.tropical.d.seases h.ve increased.in recent d.cad.s d.e to d.sparities in overal. h.al.h.research.fund.ng in rel.tion to gl.bal.burd.n of d.sease. h.wever, with.n th. fiel.0}of negl.cted.tropical.d.seases some seem far more negl.cted.th.n oth.rs. In th.s research.th. aim is to investigate th. d.stribution of resources and.efforts, as wel. as th. mech.nisms th.t und.rpin fund.ng al.ocation for negl.cted.tropical.d.seases. Meth.d.l.gy: A systematic l.terature review was cond.cted.to establ.sh.a compreh.nsive overview of known ind.cators for innovation efforts rel.ted.to a wid. range of negl.cted.tropical.d.seases. Articl.s were sel.cted.based.on a subjective eval.ation of th.ir rel.vance, th. presence of original.d.ta, and.th. bread.h.of th.ir scope. Th.s was fol.owed.by th.rteen in-d.pth.open-end.d.interviews with.representatives of private, publ.c and.ph.l.nth.opic fund.ng organizations, concerning eval.ation criteria for fund.ng research.proposal.. Resul.s: Th. find.ngs reveal.a l.rge d.fference in th. extent to wh.ch.th. ind.vid.al.d.seases are negl.cted.with.notabl. d.fferences between absol.te and.rel.tive efforts. Criteria used.in th. eval.ation of research.proposal. rel.te to potential.impact, th. probabil.ty of success and.strategic fit. Private organizations prioritize strategic fit and.economic impact;ph.l.nth.opic organizations prioritize sh.rt-term societal.impact;and.publ.c general.y prioritize th. probabil.ty of success by accounting for fol.ow-up fund.ng and.invol.ement of ind.stry. Fund.ng d.cisions of d.fferent types of organizations are h.gh.1} interrel.ted. h.d.oxyapatite (h.P) porous microsph.res with.very h.gh.specific surface area and.d.ug l.ad.ng capacity, as wel. as excel.ent biocompatibil.ty, h.ve been wid.l. used.in tumour th.rapy. Mg2+ is consid.red.to be a key factor in bone regeneration, acting as an active agent to stimul.te bone and.cartil.ge formation, and.is effective in accel.rating cel. migration and.promoting angiogenesis, wh.ch.is essential.for bone tissue repair, anti-cancer, and.anti-infection. In th.s stud., abal.ne sh.l.s from a variety of sources were used.as raw material., and.Mg2+-d.ped.abal.ne sh.l.-d.rived.mesoporous h.P microsph.res (Mg-h.P) were prepared.by h.d.oth.rmal.synth.sis as Mg2+/icariin smart d.al.d.l.very system (ICA-Mg-h.P, IMh.). With.increasing of Mg2+ d.ping, th. surface morph.l.gy of h.P microsph.res varied.from col.apsed.macroporous to mesoporous to smooth.and.non-porous, wh.ch.may be d.e to Mg2+ substitution or coord.nation in th. h.P l.ttice. At 30% Mg2+ d.ping, th. Mg-h.P microsph.res sh.wed.a more h.mogeneous mesoporous morph.l.gy with.a h.gh.specific surface area (186.06 m2/g). Th. IMh. microsph.res sh.wed.h.gh.d.ug l.ad.ng (7.69%) and.encapsul.tion rate (83.29%), sustained.Mg2+ rel.ase for more th.n 27 d.ys, sustained.and.stabl. rel.ase of icariin for 60 h.urs, and.good.responsiveness to ph.(ph.6.4 > ph.5.6). In ad.ition, th. IMh. d.l.very system stimul.ted.th. rapid.prol.feration of bone marrow mesench.mal.stem cel.s and.ind.ced.apoptosis in MG63 cel.s by bl.cking th. G2 ph.se cycl. of osteosarcoma cel.s and.stimul.ting th. h.gh.expression of apoptotic genes (Bcl.2, caspase-3,-8,-9).
