Due to the limited uplink capability in heterogeneousnetworks (HetNets), the decoupled uplinkand downlink access (DUDA) mode has recently beenproposed to improve the uplink performance. In thispaper, the random discontinuous transmission (DTX)at user equipment (UE) is adopted to reduce the interferencecorrelation across different time slots. By utilizingstochastic geometry, we analytically derive themean local delay and energy efficiency (EE) of an uplinkHetNet with UE random DTX scheme under theDUDA mode. These expressions are further approximatedas closed forms under reasonable assumptions.Our results reveal that under the DUDA mode, there isan optimal EE with respect to mute probability underthe finite local delay constraint. In addition, with thesame finite mean local delay as under the coupled uplinkand downlink access (CUDA) mode, the HetNetsunder the DUDA mode can achieve a higher EE witha lower mute probability.

Nitrene transfer reactions are powerful tools in synthetic organic chemistry.In recent years,transitionmetal catalyzed nitrene transfer reactions with carbamates as the nitrene precursors have been widely pursued.Such species undergoes facile C-H amination,aziridination,and bifunctionalization of alkenes under the catalysis of different transition metals including Rh,Fe,Ru and others,enabling the efficient construction of various nitrogen-containing molecules.In this review,the recent developments in nitrene transfer reactions with carbamates via N-O bond cleavage were introduced based on different types of reaction,and the key mechanistic information and synthetic applications of the methodologies were discussed.

In this paper,we consider the following perturbed fractional Hamiltonian systems{tD_(∞)^(α)(_(-∞)D_(t)^(α)u(t))+L(t)u(t)=■_(u)W(t,u(t))+■(u)G(t,u(t)),t∈R,u∈H^(α)(R,R^(N)),whereα∈(1/2,1],L∈C(R,R^(N×N))is symmetric and not necessarily required to be positive definite,W∈C1(R×R^(N,R))is locally subquadratic and locally even near the origin,and perturbed term G∈C1(R×R^(N,R))maybe has no parity in u.Utilizing the perturbed method improved by the authors,a sequence of nontrivial homo clinic solutions is obtained,which generalizes previous results.

Elevational patterns of warming effects on plant community and topsoil properties: focus on subalpine meadows ecosystem

Climate warming profoundly affects plant biodiversity, community productivity, and soil properties in alpine and subalpine grassland ecosystems. However, these effects are poorly understood across elevational gradients in subalpine meadow ecosystems. To reveal the elevational patterns of warming effects on plant biodiversity, community structure, productivity, and soil properties, we conducted a warming experiment using open-top chambers from August 2019 to August 2022 at high(2764 m a. s. l.), medium(2631 m a. s. l.), and low(2544 m a. s. l.) elevational gradients on a subalpine meadow slope of Mount Wutai, Northern China. Our results showed that three years of warming significantly increased topsoil temperature but significantly decreased topsoil moisture at all elevations(P<0.05), and the percentage of increasing temperature and decreasing moisture both gradually raised with elevation lifting. Warming-induced decreasing proportions of soil organic carbon(SOC, by 19.24%), and total nitrogen(TN, by 24.56%) were the greatest at high elevational gradients. Experimental warming did not affect topsoil C: N, p H, NO_(3)^(-)-N, or NH_(4)^(+)-N at the three elevational gradients. Warming significantly increased species richness(P<0.01) and Shannon-Weiner index(P<0.05) at low elevational gradients but significantly decreased belowground biomass(P<0.05) at a depth of 0–10 cm at three elevational gradients. Warming caused significant increases in the aboveground biomass in the three elevational plots. Warming significantly increased the aboveground biomass of graminoids in medium(by 92.47%) and low(by 98.25%) elevational gradients, that of sedges in high(by 72.44%) and medium(by 57.16%) elevational plots, and that of forbs in high(by 75.88%), medium(by 34.38%), and low(by 74.95%) elevational plots. Species richness had significant linear correlations with SOC, TN, and C: N(P<0.05), but significant nonlinear responses to soil temperature and soil moisture in the warmed treatment(P<0.05). This study assesses the suitability of convolutional neural networks(CNNs) for downscaling precipitation over East Africa in the context of seasonal forecasting. To achieve this, we design a set of experiments that compare different CNN configurations and deployed the best-performing architecture to downscale one-month lead seasonal forecasts of June–July–August–September(JJAS) precipitation from the Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology Climate Forecast System version 1.0(NUIST-CFS1.0) for 1982–2020. We also perform hyper-parameter optimization and introduce predictors over a larger area to include information about the main large-scale circulations that drive precipitation over the East Africa region, which improves the downscaling results. Finally, we validate the raw model and downscaled forecasts in terms of both deterministic and probabilistic verification metrics, as well as their ability to reproduce the observed precipitation extreme and spell indicator indices. The results show that the CNN-based downscaling consistently improves the raw model forecasts, with lower bias and more accurate representations of the observed mean and extreme precipitation spatial patterns. Besides, CNN-based downscaling yields a much more accurate forecast of extreme and spell indicators and reduces the significant relative biases exhibited by the raw model predictions. Moreover, our results show that CNN-based downscaling yields better skill scores than the raw model forecasts over most portions of East Africa. The results demonstrate the potential usefulness of CNN in downscaling seasonal precipitation predictions over East Africa,particularly in providing improved forecast products which are essential for end users.

While acid mine drainage(AMD)issues have become a topic of global concern,few studies have focused on acid drainage problems of non-mining activities.We conducted field research and a series of laboratory experiments to investigate the characteristics,release processes and formation of acid drainage contamination.Spoil rock samples and adjacent surface water,groundwater,soil and sediment samples were collected at a railway tunnel construction site in central China,and various parameters,such as the p H,mineral ion concentrations,and heavy metal concentrations,were measured.Based on the measured concentrations,surface water and sediments were seriously contaminated by acids,sulfate salts and heavy metals.Contamination in surface water showed a decreasing tendency as the distance from the spoils increased,while that in sediments showed a greater influence of coprecipitation and adsorption processes of heavy metal ions.The eluviation experiments of three rock samples indicated that R2(silty fine sandstone)was the most likely major acid drainage contributor.Thiobacillus ferrooxidans was cultured and isolated from contaminated water to study the oxidation conditions during the release processes.The significant release of acid drainage when air and bacteria were both in the culture container suggested that oxygen and bacteria were necessary to produce acid drainage from spoils.

A Server Placement Algorithm for Reducing Risk and Improving Power Utilization in Data Centers

As the power demand in data centers is increasing,the power capacity of the power supply system has become an essential resource to be optimized.Although many data centers use power oversubscription to make full use of the power capacity,there are unavoidable power supply risks associated with it.Therefore,how to improve the data center power capacity utilization while ensuring power supply security has become an important issue.To solve this problem,we first define it and propose a risk evaluation metric called Weighted Power Supply Risk(WPSRisk).Then,a method,named Hybrid Genetic Algorithm with Ant Colony System(HGAACS),is proposed to improve power capacity utilization and reduce power supply risks by optimizing the server placement in the power supply system.HGAACS uses historical power data of each server to find a better placement solution by population iteration.HGAACS possesses not only the remarkable local search ability of Ant Colony System(ACS),but also enhances the global search capability by incorporating genetic operators from Genetic Algorithm(GA).To verify the performance of HGAACS,we experimentally compare it with five other placement algorithms.The experimental results show that HGAACS can perform better than other algorithms in both improving power utilization and reducing the riskof powersupply system.
