Chemical Composition of Pellonula leonensis Fish Oils from the Congo River Obtained by Soxhlet Extraction

The chemical composition of Pellonula leonensis fish oils from the Congo River (at Boko city) was carried out. The fatty acids were determined by gas chromatography. The Sn-2 position of fatty acids on glycerol was carried out by the ISO 6800 standard. The separation of the compounds (as free fatty acids, monoglycerides, diglycerides, triglycerides, sterols and methyl esters, etc.) was carried out by HPLC using gel permeation with refractometric detection. The phospholipid composition was by HPLC with an evaporative light scattering detector. we obtained oil contents of 32.10 (±0.46)%. The major fatty acids were Palmitic acid (27.41%) and oleic acid (24.23%). The SFA were of 44.50%. The MUFA represent 32.54% and PUFA 22.60%. Regarding the Sn-2 position on glycerol, 48.0% were by SFA and 51.3% were by unsaturated fatty acids. Among them 34.2% of fatty acids were 17.5% oleic acid molecules, 3.3% dHA molecules and 2.1% EPA molecules. Free fatty acids have contents of more than 62%, diglycerides 16.63% and triglycerides 20.46%. Seven different phospholipids were identified, namely: Phosphatidylglycerol (PG), Phosphatidylethanolamine (PE), Phosphatidylinositol (PI), Phosphatidylcholine (PC), Sphingomyelin (SM), Lyso Phosphatitdylcholine (LPC) and Lyso Phosphatidylethanolamine (LPE). According to the high levels in position 2 of the glycerol of palmitic acid, the consumption of Pellonula leonensis fish could be moderate.

Modeling the Kinetics of Moisture desorption from Safou Pulp [dacryodes edulis (G. don) ***] before the Oil Extraction Step

The aim of this work is to model the drying kinetics of Safou pulp with or without endocarp using a phenomenological approach. Oven-drying kinetics at 70˚C, 90˚C and 105˚C were monitored using the curves given by the reduced mass as a function of time, which are modeled according to the Avrami/page, Fick and Peleg models using OringinPro 2018 software. The results showed that parameters k and n of the Avrami/Page model vary very little with fruit size and drying temperature (0.0018 ± 0.0002 k n k (Avrami model/page) were virtually identical, while b (Fick model) and n (Avrami model/page) were virtually identical for the same sample. For the Peleg model, the parameter a, varies from 0.0018 ± 0.0002 to 0.03328 ± 0.0079, with a ratio of 18.6 for all experimental conditions studied. However, with 0.977 R2 χ2 we have a good fit of the model to the experimental data. The same applies to parameter b, which ranges from 0.82 ± 0.05 to 1.21 ± 0.02. Thus, drying modeling by these three models can be used to describe and predict the progress of oven-drying of safou pulp.

Generative adversarial networks(GANs)with gaming abilities have been widely applied in image ***,gamistic generators and discriminators may reduce the robustness of the obtained GANs in image generation under varying *** the relation of hierarchical information in a generation network and enlarging differences of different network architectures can facilitate more structural information to improve the generation effect for image *** this paper,we propose an enhanced GAN via improving a generator for image generation(EIGGAN).EIGGAN applies a spatial attention to a generator to extract salient information to enhance the truthfulness of the generated *** into relation the context account,parallel residual operations are fused into a generation network to extract more structural information from the different ***,a mixed loss function in a GAN is exploited to make a tradeoff between speed and accuracy to generate more realistic *** results show that the proposed method is superior to popular methods,i.e.,wasserstein GAN with gradient penalty(wGAN-GP)in terms of many indexes,i.e.,Frechet Inception distance,Learned Perceptual Image Patch Similarity,Multi-Scale Structural Similarity Index Measure,Kernel Inception distance,Number of Statistically-different Bins,Inception Score and some visual images for image generation.

A multi-feature-based intelligent redundancy elimination scheme for cloud-assisted health systems

Redundancy elimination techniques are extensively investigated to reduce storage overheads for cloud-assisted health *** eliminates the redundancy of duplicate blocks by storing one physical instance referenced by multiple *** compression is usually regarded as a complementary technique to deduplication to further remove the redundancy of similar blocks,but our observations indicate that this is disobedient when data have sparse duplicate *** addition,there are many overlapped deltas in the resemblance detection process of post-deduplication delta compression,which hinders the efficiency of delta compression and the index phase of resemblance detection inquires abundant non-similar blocks,resulting in inefficient system ***,a multi-feature-based redundancy elimination scheme,called MFRE,is proposed to solve these *** similarity feature and temporal locality feature are excavated to assist redundancy elimination where the similarity feature well expresses the duplicate ***,similarity-based dynamic post-deduplication delta compression and temporal locality-based dynamic delta compression discover more similar base blocks to minimise overlapped deltas and improve compression ***,the clustering method based on block-relationship and the feature index strategy based on bloom filters reduce IO overheads and improve system *** demonstrate that the proposed method,compared to the state-of-the-art method,improves the compression ratio and system throughput by 9.68%and 50%,respectively.

In Côte d’Ivoire, the recurring and unregulated use of bushfires, which cause ecological damage, presents a pressing concern for the custodians of protected areas. This study aims to enhance our comprehension of the dynamics of burnt areas within the Abokouamékro wildlife Reserve (AwR) by employing the analysis of spectral indices derived from satellite imagery. The research methodology began with the calculation of mean indices and their corresponding spectral sub-indices, including NdVI, SAVI, NdwI, NdMI, BAI, NBR, TCw, TCG, and TCB, utilizing data from the Sentinel-2A satellite image dated January 17, 2022. Subsequently, a fuzzy classification model was applied to these various indices and sub-indices, guided by the degree of membership α, with the goal of effectively distinguishing between burned and unburned areas. Following the classification, the accuracies of the classified indices and sub-indices were validated using the coordinates of 100 data points collected within the AwR through GPS technology. The results revealed that the overall accuracy of all indices and sub-indices declines as the degree of membership α decreases from 1 to 0. Among the mean spectral indices, NdVI-mean, SAVI-mean, NdMI-mean exhibited the highest overall accuracies, achieving 97%, 95%, and 90%, respectively. These results closely mirrored those obtained by sub-indices using band 8 (NdVI-B8, SAVI-B8, and NdMI-B8), which yield respective overall accuracies of 93%, 92%, and 89%. At a degree of membership α = 1, the estimated burned areas for the most effective indices encompassed 2144.38 hectares for NdVI-mean, 1932.14 hectares for mean SAVI-mean, and 4947.13 hectares for mean NdMI-mean. A prospective approach involving the amalgamation of these three indices could have the potential to yield improved outcomes. This study could be a substantial contribution to the discrimination of bushfires in Côte d’Ivoire.

Hepatitis C virus （HCV） infection is one of the major causes of chronic liver disease, including cirrhosis and liver cancer and is therefore, the most common indication for liver transplantation. Conventional antiviral drugs such as pegylated interferon-alpha, taken in combination with ribavirin, represent a milestone in the therapy of this disease. However, due to different viral and host factors, clinical success can be achieved only in approximately half of patients, making urgent the requirement of exploiting alternative approaches for HCV therapy. Fortunately, recent advances in the understanding of HCV viral replication and host cell interactions have opened new possibilities for therapeutic intervention. The most recent technologies, such as small interference RNA mediated gene-silencing, antisense oligonucleotides （ASO）, or viral vector based gene delivery systems, have paved the way to develop novel therapeutic modalities for HCV. In this review, we outline the application of these technologies in the context of HCV therapy. In particular, we will focus on the newly defined role of cellular microRNA （miR-222） in viral replication and discuss its potential for HCV molecular therapy.

Preprotein Import into Chloroplasts via the Toc and Tic Complexes Is Regulated by Redox Signals in Pisum sativum

The import of nuclear-encoded preproteins is necessary to maintain chloroplast function. The recognition and transfer of most precursor proteins across the chloroplast envelopes are facilitated by two membrane-inserted protein complexes, the translocons of the chloroplast outer and inner envelope （Toc and Tic complexes, respectively）. Several signals have been invoked to regulate the import of preproteins. In our study, we were interested in redox-based import regulation mediated by two signals： regulation based on thiols and on the metabolic NAdP＋/NAdPH ratio. we sought to identify the proteins participating in the regulation of these transport pathways and to characterize the preprotein subgroups whose import is redox-dependent. Our results provide evidence that the formation and reduction of disulfide bridges in the Toc receptors and Toc translocation channel have a strong influence on import yield of all tested preproteins that depend on the Toc complex for translocation. Furthermore, the metabolic NAdP＋/NAdPH ratio influences not only the composition of the Tic complex, but also the import efficiency of most, but not all, preproteins tested. Thus, several Tic subcomplexes appear to participate in the translocation of different preprotein subgroups, and the redox-active compo- nents of these complexes likely play a role in regulating transport.

Electro-acupuncture to prevent prolonged postoperative ileus:A randomized clinical trial

AIM:To examine whether acupuncture can prevent prolonged postoperative ileus(PPOI)after intraperitoneal surgery for colon cancer. METHOdS:Ninety patients were recruited from the Fudan University Cancer Hospital,Shanghai,China. After surgery,patients were randomized to receive acupuncture(once daily,starting on postoperative day 1, for up to six consecutive days)or usual *** was defined as an inability to pass flatus or have a bowel movement by 96 h after *** main outcomes were time to first flatus,time to first bowel movement, and *** outcomes were quality of life(QOL)measures,including pain, nausea,insomnia,abdominal distension/fullness,and sense of well-being. RESULTS:No significant differences in PPOI on day 4 (P=0.71)or QOL measures were found between the *** were also no group differences when the data were analyzed by examining those whose PPOI had resolved by day 5(P=0.69)or day 6(P= 0.88).No adverse events related to acupuncture were reported. CONCLUSION:Acupuncture did not prevent PPOI andwas not useful for treating PPOI once it had developed in this population.
