The by-product gases, which are generated in ironmaking, coking and steel making processes, can be used as fuel for the metallurgical processes and on-site power plants. However, if the supply and demand of by-product gases are imbalanced, gas flaring may occur, leading to energy wastage and environmental pollution. Therefore, optimal scheduling of by-product gases is important in iron and steel works. A BP_LSSVM model, which combines back-propagation (BP) neural network and least squares support vector machine (LSSVM), and an improved mixed integer linear programming model were proposed to forecast the surplus gases and allocate them optimally. To maximize energy utilization, the stability of gas holders and boilers was considered and a concise heuristic procedure was proposed to assign penalties for boilers and gas holders. Moreover, the optimal level of gas holder was studied to enhance the stability of the gas system. Compared to the manual operation, the optimal results showed that the electricity generated by the power plant increased by 2.93% in normal condition and by 22.2% in overhaul condition. The proposed model minimizes the total cost by optimizing the boiler load with less adjustment frequency and the stability of gas holders and can be used as a guidance in dynamic forecasting and optimal scheduling of by-product gases in integrated iron and steel works.

Cardiovascular disease is a crucial disease threatening human health, and its mortality rate ranks first among Chinese residents. Myocardial mitochondrial dysfunction is the main cause of various heart diseases such as myocardial infarction, myocarditis, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and heart failure. In recent years, many studies have confirmed that traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) can be used to improve myocardial mitochondrial function and treat heart disease. The purpose of this review was to analyze the regulatory mechanism of myocardial mitochondrial function by summarizing the effect of TCM on cardiovascular disease.

Underwater hybrid near-field acoustical holography based on the measurement of vector hydrophone array

Hybrid near-field acoustical holography(NAH) is developed for reconstructing acoustic radiation from a cylindrical source in a complex underwater environment. In hybrid NAH,we combine statistically optimized near-field acoustical holography(SONAH) and broadband acoustical holography from intensity measurements(BAHIM) to reconstruct the underwater cylindrical source field. First,the BAHIM is utilized to regenerate as much acoustic pressures on the hologram surface as necessary,and then the acoustic pressures are taken as input to the formulation implemented numerically by SONAH. The main advantages of this technology are that the complex pressure on the hologram surface can be reconstructed without reference signal,and the measurement array can be smaller than the source,thus the practicability and efficiency of this technology are greatly enhanced. Numerical examples of a cylindrical source are demonstrated. Test results show that hybrid NAH can yield a more accurate reconstruction than conventional NAH. Then,an experiment has been carried out with a vector hydrophone array. The experimental results show the advantage of hybrid NAH in the reconstruction of an acoustic field and the feasibility of using a vector hydrophone array in an underwater NAH measurement,as well as the identification and localization of noise sources.

Hypoxia, which results from an inadequate oxygen supply in the body, has been associated with various diseases, such as tumors, cardiac ischemia, stroke and vascular diseases.1 Therefore, the development of efficient diagnostic agents with the capabilities like the accurate detection of hypoxic level will be helpful to estimate the degree of ischemia and subsequently guide more effective personalized treatment. Based on the researches that the nitro functional group has excellent properties and as one of the candidates for detecting hypoxia,2 we developed a near-infrared boDIPY-loaded nanoprobe functionalized with targeting ligand in which a large fluorescence increase is triggered by the reduction of the nitro. After myocardial infarction（MI）, the nanoprobe could specifically recognize myocardial cells and were selectively taken up by myocardial cells, where they can release hypoxia-sensitive probe and get ―turn-on‖ fluorescent signal. The nanoprobe can be used for fluorescence imaging of hypoxic cardiomyocytes and real-time monitoring of ischemia in the heart. This work presents a simple but novelty protocol with great potential in myocardial hypoxia and ischemia monitoring.

Background It is well recognized that meteorological factors have important influences on the onset and development of many kinds of diseases. The present study was undertaken to investigate the effects of the meteorological elements on admission rates of cerebral infarction patients with hypertensive nephropathy at Changchun city, Jilin Province, northeast China. Methods A total of 763 medical records of inpatients from nine hospitals at Changchun city, during a period from April 6 to April 17 in 2010, were reviewed. These patients were admitted to hospitals due to the occurrence of cerebral infarction. The hypertensive nephropathy was evidenced with certain diagnosis of essential hypertension and hypertension-related kidney injuries. The cerebral infarction was diagnosed according to the World Health Organization （Stroke） standard. All the meteorological data were from practical monitoring records in Jilin Province Meteorological Observatory. The relationships between the epidemiological prevalence of cerebral infarction and meteorological variables were analyzed using the time series models of statistics. Results Compared with admission rates before the violent change in meteorological status （April 6 to April 17, 2010）, the number of admission patients suffering from cerebral infarction remarkably peaked on April 12. Such an increase was highly correlated with heavy precipitation, elevation of daily average relative humidity, and reduction of average daily air temperature. With the betterment of the meteorological conditions on April 17, the admission rates of cerebral infarction patients dropped to the same level as the dates before snowing （April 6 to April 11）. Conclusions The meteorological changes are highly associated with the occurrence of cerebral infarction in patients with hypertensive renal injury in northeast China.
