Potassium-ion hybrid capacitors(PIHCs)tactfully combining capacitor-type cathode with battery-type anode have recently attracted increasing attentions due to their advantages of decent energy density,high power density,and low cost;the mismatches of capacity and kinetics between capacitor-type cathode and battery-type anode in PIHCs yet hinder their overall performance ***,based on prediction of density functional theory calculations,we find Se/N co-doped porous carbon is a promising candidate for K+storage and thus develop a simple and universal self-sacrifice template method to fabricate Se and N co-doped three-dimensional(3D)macroporous carbon(Se/N-3DMpC),which features favorable properties of connective hier-archical pores,expanded interlayer structure,and rich activity site for boosting pseudocapacitive activity and kinetics toward K^(+)storage anode and enhancing capacitance performance for the reversible anion adsorption/desorption *** expected,the as-assembled PIHCs full cell with a working voltage as high as 4.0 V delivers a high energy density of 186 Wh kg^(−1) and a power output of 8100 W kg^(−1) as well as excellent long service *** proof-of-concept PIHCs with excellent performance open a new avenue for the development and application of high-performance hybrid capacitors.

Cooked rice and the vegetables like lettuce are common kitchen waste,which are carbonaceous materials and have the potential as feedstock for the production of activated *** is similar to hydrothermal treatment(HTC),which might impact the subsequent activation of kitchen *** this study,the HTC of lettuce,rice,or their mixture and the activation of the resulting hydrochars were *** results indicated that cross-polymerization between the N-containing organics from lettuce and the sugar derivatives from rice took place in their co-HTC,which significantly increased the hydrochar *** of the hydrochar from the coHTC generated the AC with a yield of 2 times that from direct activation of mixed lettuce/***,the coHTC facilitated aromatization,reducing reactivity with K2C2O4in activation and producing the AC with main micropores and low specific surface *** of the hydrochar from HTC of rice followed the above trend,while that from lettuce was the *** organics in lettuce were thermally unstable and could not undergo sufficient *** activation of hydrochar from HTC of lettuce thus generated the AC with the lowest yield,but the highest specific surface area(1684.9 m2/g),abundant mesopores,and superior capability for adsorption of ***,the environmental impacts and energy consumption for the production of AC from the hydrochar of lettuce were higher than that from hydrochar of co-HTC.

Genome instability has been identified as one of the enabling hallmarks in *** damage response(DDR)network is responsible for maintenance of genome integrity in *** cancer cells frequently carry DDR gene deficiencies or suffer from replicative stress,targeting DDR processes could induce excessive DNA damages(or unrepaired DNA)that eventually lead to cell ***(ADP-ribose)polymerase(PARP)inhibitors have brought impressive benefit to patients with breast cancer gene(BRCA)mutation or homologous recombination deficiency(HRD),which proves the concept of synthetic lethality in cancer ***,the other two scenarios of DDR inhibitor application,replication stress and combination with chemo-or radio-therapy,are under active clinical *** this review,we revisited the progress of DDR targeting therapy beyond the launched firstgeneration PARP *** generation PARP1 selective inhibitors,which could maintain the efficacy while mitigating side effects,may diversify the application scenarios of PARP inhibitor in *** with unavoidable on-mechanism toxicities,several small molecules targeting DNA damage checkpoints(gatekeepers)have shown great promise in preliminary clinical results,which may warrant further *** addition,inhibitors for other DNA repair pathways(caretakers)are also under active preclinical or clinical *** these progresses and efforts,we envision that a new wave of innovations within DDR has come of age.

At hybrid analog-digital(HAD) transceiver, an improved HAD estimation of signal parameters via rotational invariance techniques(ESPRIT), called I-HAD-ESPRIT, is proposed to measure the direction of arrival(DOA) of a desired user, where the phase ambiguity due to HAD structure is dealt with ***, a machine-learning(ML) framework is proposed to improve the precision of measuring ***, we find that the probability density function(PDF) of DOA measurement error(DOAME) can be approximated as a Gaussian distribution by the histogram method in ML. Then, a slightly large training data set(TDS) and a relatively small real-time set(RTS) of DOA are formed to predict the mean and variance of DOA/DOAME in the training stage and real-time stage, respectively. To improve the precisions of DOA/DOAME, three weight combiners are proposed to combine the-maximum-likelihood-learning outputs of TDS and RTS. Using the mean and variance of DOA/DOAME, their PDFs can be given directly, and we propose a robust beamformer for directional modulation(DM) transmitter with HAD by fully exploiting the PDF of DOA/DOAME, especially a robust analog beamformer on RF chain. Simulation results show that:(1) the proposed I-HAD-ESPRIT can achieve the HAD Cramer-Rao lower bound(CRLB);(2) the proposed ML framework performs much better than the corresponding real-time one without training stage;(3) the proposed robust DM transmitter can perform better than the corresponding non-robust ones in terms of secrecy rate.

Elucidating the complex interactions between the work material and abrasives during grinding of gallium nitride(GaN)single crystals is an active and challenging research *** this study,molecular dynamics simulations were performed on double-grits interacted grinding of GaN crystals;and the grinding force,coefficient of friction,stress distribution,plastic damage behaviors,and abrasive damage were systematically *** results demonstrated that the interacted distance in both radial and transverse directions achieved better grinding quality than that in only one *** grinding force,grinding induced stress,subsurface damage depth,and abrasive wear increase as the transverse interacted distance ***,there was no clear correlation between the interaction distance and the number of atoms in the phase transition and dislocation *** interacted distances between abrasives can decrease grinding force,coefficient of friction,grinding induced stress,subsurface damage depth,and abrasive wear during the grinding *** results of grinding tests combined with cross-sectional transmission electron micrographs validated the simulated damage results,*** atoms,high-pressure phase transition,dislocations,stacking faults,and lattice *** results of this study will deepen our understanding of damage accumulation and material removal resulting from coupling between abrasives during grinding and can be used to develop a feasible approach to the wheel design of ordered abrasives.

Viral myocarditis(VMC)is one of the most common acquired heart diseases in children and ***,its pathogenesis is still unclear,and effective treatments are *** study aimed to investigate the regulatory pathway by which exosomes alleviate ferroptosis in cardiomyocytes(CMCs)induced by coxsackievirus B3(CVB3).CVB3 was utilized for inducing the VMC mouse model and cellular *** echocardiography,left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF),and left ventricular fractional shortening(LVFS)were implemented to assess the cardiac *** CVB3-induced VMC mice,cardiac insufficiency was observed,as well as the altered levels of ferroptosis-related indicators(glutathione) peroxidase 4(GPX4),glutathione(GSH),and malondialdehyde(MDA).However,exosomes derived from human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells(hucMSCs-exo)could restore the changes caused by CVB3 ***-7a-5p was enriched in hucMSCs-exo,and the inhibitory ffect of hucMSCs-exoa-ie-pmimo on CVB3-induced ferroptosis was higher than that of hucMSCs-exommie N(NC:negative control).Mothers against decapentaplegic homolog 2(SMAD2)increased in the VMC group,while the expression of zinc-finger protein 36(ZFP36)***-7a-5p was confirmed to interact with SMAD2 messenger RNA(mRNA),and the SMAD2 protein interacted directly with the ZFP36 *** SMAD2 and overexpressing ZFP36 inhibited the expression of ferroptosis-related ***,the levels of GPX4,solute carrier family 7,member 11(SLC7A11),and GSH were lower in the SMAD2 overexpression plasmid(oe-SMAD2)+let-7a-5p mimic group than in the oe-NC+let-7a-5p mimic group,while those of MDA,reactive oxygen species(ROS),and Fe^(2+)*** conclusion,these data showed that ferroptosis could be regulated by mediating SMAD2 ***-let-7a-5p derived from hucMSCs could mediate SMAD2 to promote the expression of ZFP36,which further inhibited the ferroptosis of CMCs to alleviate CVB3-induced VMC.

CO_(2) gas stripped off membranous residual oil from pore surfaces: Effects of temperature, pressure and wettability

The threshold values of CO_(2) gas stripped off membranous residual oil from the pore walls are not clear under different temperatures, pressures and wettability conditions. The extent to which temperature, pressure and wettability influence CO_(2) flooding for enhancing the recovery of residual oil in membranous formations also remains uncertain. Therefore, further quantitative characterization is entailed. In this study, the molecular dynamics method was employed to explore CO_(2) flooding under different temperatures, pressures and wettability conditions, aiming to enhance the production of membranous residual oil. The results reveal that the interaction energy between CO_(2), decane molecules and pore walls exhibits a decrease with increasing temperature and an increase with increasing pressure, respectively, in distinct wettability scenarios. When the temperature was at or below 363 K and the pressure was not lower than 40 MPa, CO_(2) gas could detach the membranous residual oil from the pore walls in the water-wet systems. When the temperature was equal to 363 K and the pressure remained under 40 MPa, or the temperature surpassed 363 K, CO_(2) gas failed to detach the membranous residual oil from the pore walls in the water-wet systems. For the mixed-wet and oil-wet systems, CO_(2) molecules could not detach the membranous residual oil from the pore walls. The hierarchy of influence regarding temperature, pressure and wettability on the competitive adsorption capacity of CO_(2) and decane molecules on the pore walls emerged as follows: wettability > temperature > pressure. The findings of this study offer valuable insights into the application of CO_(2) gas flooding for the exploitation of membranous residual oil on pore walls.

Zn-ion batteries(ZIBs) have gained great attention as promising next-generation power sources, because of their low cost, enviable safety and high theoretical capacity. Recently, massive researches have been devoted to vanadium-based materials as cathodes in ZIBs, owing to their multiple valence states, competitive gravimetric energy density, but the capacity degradation, sluggish kinetics, low operating voltage hinder further optimization of their performance in ZIBs. This review summarizes recent progress to increase the interlayer spacing, structural stability, and the diffusion ability of the guest Zn ions, including the insertion of different ions, introduction of defects, design of diverse morphologies, the combination of other materials. We also focus on approaches to promoting the valuable performance of vanadiumbased cathodes, along with the related ongoing scientific challenges and limitations. Finally, the future perspectives and research directions of vanadium-based aqueous ZIBs are provided.

A series of environmental and energy issues,such as global warming,water pollution,acid rain,and energy shortage,have to be settled ***-organic frameworks(MOFs)are compounds consisting of metal ions or clusters coordinated to organic ligands,which show great promise for alleviating or mitigating these challenges owing to their outstanding physical and chemical *** this review,we summarize the recent advances of MOFs in the fields of green applications,including carbon capture,harmful gas removal,sewage treatment,and green energy *** addition,the challenges and prospects of the large-scale commercialized use of MOFs in handling environmental issues are also discussed.
