Efficacy and safety of Yiqi Peiyuan granules for improving the short-term prognosis of patients with acute kidney injury:A multicenter,double-blind,placebo-controlled,randomized trial

Background:Yiqi Peiyuan(YQPY)prescription,a composite prescription of traditional Chinese medicine,has been used to prevent or delay the continued deterioration of renal function after acute kidney injury(AKI)in some institutions and has shown considerable ***:This is the first randomized controlled trial to assess efficacy and safety of YQPY for improving short-term prognosis in adult patients with ***,setting,participants and interventions:This is a prospective,double-blind,multicenter,randomized,and placebo-controlled clinical trial.A total of 144 enrolled participants were randomly allocated to two groups according to a randomization ***,caregivers and investigators assessing the outcomes were blinded to group *** in the YQPY group received 36 g YQPY granules twice a day for 28 *** in the placebo group received a placebo in the same dose as the YQPY *** outcome measures:The primary outcome was the change in the estimated glomerular filtration rate(eGFR)between baseline and after 4 and 24 weeks of *** secondary outcomes were the change of serum creatinine(Scr)level between baseline and after treatment,and the incidence of endpoint events,defined as eGFR increasing by more than 25%above baseline,eGFR>75 mL/min per1.73 m2or the composite endpoint,which was defined as the sum of patients meeting either of the above ***:Data from a total of 114 patients(59 in the YQPY group and 55 in the control group)were *** mean changes in eGFR and Scr in weeks 4 and 24 had no difference between the two *** further subgroup analysis(22 in the YQPY group and 31 in the control group),the mean change in eGFR after treatment for 4 weeks was 27.39 mL/min per 1.73 m2in the YQPY group and 5.78 mL/min per1.73 m2in the placebo group,and the mean difference between groups was 21.61 mL/min per 1.73 m2(Pbo g

Analysis of thermal management and anti-mechanical abuse of multi-functional battery modules based on magneto-sensitive shear thickening fluid

Electric vehicles(EVs)have garnered significant attention as a vital driver of economic growth and environmental ***,ensuring the safety of high-energy batteries is now a top priority that cannot be overlooked during large-scale *** paper proposes an innovative active protection and cooling integrated battery module using smart materials,magneto-sensitive shear thickening fluid(MSTF),which is specifically designed to address safety threats posed by lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)exposed to harsh mechanical and environmental *** theoretical framework introduces a novel approach for harnessing the smoothed-particle hydrodynamics(SPH)methodology that incorporates the intricate interplay of non-Newtonian fluid behavior,capturing the fluid-structure coupling inherent to the *** approach is further advanced by adopting an enhanced Herschel-Bulkley(H-B)model to encapsulate the intricate rheology of the MSTF under the influence of the magnetorheological effect(MRE)and shear thickening(ST)*** simulation results show that in the case of cooling,the MSTF is an effective cooling medium for rapidly reducing the *** terms of mechanical abuse,the MSTF solidifies through actively applying the magnetic field during mechanical compression and impact within the battery module,resulting in 66%and 61.7%reductions in the maximum stress within the battery jellyroll,and 31.1%and 23%reductions in the reaction force,*** mechanism effectively lowers the risk of short-circuit *** groundbreaking concepts unveiled in this paper for active protection battery modules are anticipated to be a valuable technological breakthrough in the areas of EV safety and lightweight/integrated design.

Effect and Mechanism of Rare Earth Hydrotalcite Inhibiting Coal Spontaneous Combustion

A hydrotalcite(layered double hydroxide, LDH) inhibitor which is suitable for the whole process of coal spontaneous combustion and a LDH inhibitor containing rare earth lanthanum elements were prepared. The inhibition effect and mechanism were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy(SEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD), thermal performance analysis, in-situ diffuse reflectance infrared spectroscopy and temperature-programmed experiment. The results have shown that the inhibitor containing lanthanum can play a good inhibitory role in every stage of coal oxidation. During the slow oxidation of coal samples, the inhibitor containing lanthanum ions can slow down the oxidation process of coal and increase the initial temperature of coal spontaneous combustion. At the same time, because the hydroxyl groups in LDHs are connected with-COO-groups on the coal surface through hydrogen bonds, the stability of coal is improved. With the increase of temperature, LDHs can remove interlayer water molecules and reduce the surface temperature of coal. CO release rate of coal samples decreases significantly after adding inhibitor containing lanthanum element, and the maximum inhibition rate of the inhibitor is 58.1%.

Divalent anion intercalation and etching-hydrolysis strategies to construct ultra-stable electrodes for seawater splitting

Developing stable electrodes for seawater splitting remains a great challenge due to the detachment of catalysts at a large operating current and severe anode corrosion caused by ***,divalent anion intercalation and etching-hydrolysis strategies are deployed to synthesize the ultra-stable anode,dendritic Fe(OH)_(3) grown on Ni(SO_4)_(0.3)(OH)_(1.4)–Ni(OH)_(2).Experimental results reveal that the anode exhibits good activity and excellent stability in alkaline simulated *** 500 h,the current density operated at 1.72 V remains 99.5%,about 210 m A cm^(-2).The outstanding stability originates from the etchinghydrolysis strategy,which strengthens the interaction between the catalyst and the carrier and retards thus the detachment of catalysts at a large current ***,theoretical simulations confirm that the intercalated divalent anions,such as SO_4^(2-) and CO_(3)^(2-),can weaken the adsorption strength of chlorine on the surface of catalysts and hinder the coupling and hybridization between chlorine and nickel,which slows down the anode corrosion and improves catalytic ***,the twoelectrode system shows the remarkable 95.1% energy efficiency at 2,000 A m-2and outstanding stability in 6 mol L^(-1) KOH +seawater at 80 ℃.
