Multi-drug loaded vitamin E-TPGS nanoparticles for synergistic drug delivery to overcome drug resistance in tumor treatment

A facile self-assembly strategy to labricate vitamin E-tocopheryl polyethylene glycol succinate （TPGS） based nanoparticles with a high drug loading level for co-delivery of multiple drugs was developed. To overcome multi-drug resistance, a chemotherapeutic agent （paclitaxel, PTX） and a drug resistance inhibitor （tariq- uidar, TQR） were co-loaded in the vitamin E-TPGS based nanoparticle to obtain TPGS/PTX/TQR nanoparticles. The sizes of mono-drug loaded TPGS/PTX nanoparticles and dual-drug loaded TPGS/PTX/TQR nanoparticles were below 150 nm with relatively narrow size distributions. The efficiencies of the drug delivery systems on tumor cells inhibition and reversal of drug resistance were evaluated in drug resistant cancer cells （MCF-7/ADR） as compared with nonresistant cells （HeLa）. Due to the effective inhibition of the P-gp efflux by TQR, the dual-drug loaded nanoparticles exhibited significantly improved tumor cell inhibitory efficiency. To study the immunostimulatory effect, the effect of the drug delivery system on the production of IL- 10, a cytokine related to tumor development, in the drug resistant cells was determined. After the treatment by the drug delivery systems, the concentration of IL-10 in the cell supernatant decreased. The multi-drug loaded vitamin E-TPGS nanoparticles for synergistic drug delivery have promising applications in reversal of drug resistance in tumor treatments.

Background： The treatment of high-grade developmental spondylolisthesis （HGDS） is still challenging and controversial. In this study, we investigated the efficacy of the posterior reduction and monosegmental fusion assisted by intraoperative three-dimensional （3D） navigation system in managing the HGDS. Methods： Thirteen consecutive HGDS patients were treated with posterior decompression, reduction and monosegmental fusion ofL5/S1, assisted by intraoperative 3D navigation system. The clinical and radiographic outcomes were evaluated, with a minimum follow-up of 2 years. The differences between the pre- and post-operative measures were statistically analyzed using a two-tailed, paired t-test. Results： At most recent follow-up, 12 patients were pain-free. Only l patient had moderate pain, There were no permanent neurological complications or pseudarthrosis. The magnetic resonance imaging showed that there was no obvious disc degeneration in the adjacent segment. All radiographic parameters were improved. Mean slippage improved from 63.2% before surgery to 12.2% after surgery and 11.0% at latest follow-up. Lumbar lordosis changed from preoperative 34.9 ± 13.3° to postoperative 50.4 ±9.9°, and 49.3 ± 7.8° at last follow-up. L5 incidence improved from 71.0 ± 11.3° to 54.0 ± 1 1.9° and did not change significantly at the last follow-up 53.±1 15.4°. While pelvic incidence remained unchanged, sacral slip significantly decreased from preoperative 32.7± 12.5° to postoperative 42.6 ± 9.8°and remained constant to the last follow-up 44.4 ± 6.9°. Pelvic tilt significantly decreased from 38.4±12.5° to 30.9± 8.1° and remained unchanged at the last fbllow-up 28.1± 11.2°. Conclusions： Posterior reduction and monosegmental fusion of L5/S1 assisted by intraoperative 3D navigation are an effective technique for managing high-grade dysplastic spondylolisthesis. A complete reduction of local deformity and excellent correction of overall sagittal balance can be achieved.

Sea topography information holds significant importance in oceanic research and the climate change detection. Radar imaging altimetry has emerged as the leading approach for global ocean observation,employing synthetic aperture radar(SAR) interferometry to enhance the spatial resolution of Sea topography. Nevertheless, current payload capacity and satellite hardware limitations prevent the extension of the interferometric baseline by enlarging the physical antenna size. This constraint hinders achieving centimeter-level accuracy in interferometric altimetry. To address this challenge, we conducted a numerical simulation to assess the viability of a large baseline interferometric imaging altimeter(LB-IIA). By controlling the baseline within the range of 600-1000 m through spiral orbit design in two satellites and mitigating baseline de-correlation with the carrier frequency shift(CFS) technique, we aimed to overcome the above limitations. Our findings demonstrate the efficacy of the CFS technique in compensating for baseline decoherence, elevating coherence from less than 0.1 to over 0.85. Concurrently. The height difference accuracy between neighboring sea surfaces reaches 1 cm within a 1 km resolution. This study is anticipated to serve as a foundational reference for future interferometric imaging altimeter development, catering to the demand for high-precision sea topography data in accurate global bathymetry inversion.

Double carbohelicenes have attracted considerable attention due to their aesthetic structures,distinctπ-conjugation extension,inherent chirality,and intriguing optical and electronic ***,the concise de novo synthesis of a new double[5]carbohelicene 1 together with its chiroptical properties,isomerization process and lasing application is presented.1 was synthesized by a simple protocol involving the formation of a 6,6′-bipentacene as the key *** is worth noting that1 existed as two diastereomers 1-PP/MM and 1-PM,which were successfully isolated and unambiguously confirmed by Xray *** optical resolution of the racemic 1-PP/MM was successfully achieved by chiral-phase highperformance liquid chromatography(HPLC),and 1-PP and 1-MM were characterized by circular ***,it was found that 1-PP/MM could be completely isomerized to 1-PM upon heating,and the detailed thermodynamics and kinetics of the isomerization process were systematically investigated.1-PM exhibited deep-red luminescence with emission maximum at 723 nm and fluorescence quantum yield as high as 32.95%.Consequently,we can showcase the lasing application of 1-PM by doping with epoxy resin to assemble a bottle microlaser spontaneously,which the lasing wavelength is 796.6 nm at a threshold of 0.8 m J cm^(-2).We believe that our studies,including the facile synthesis methodology,detailed isomerization studies,and lasing application,will shed some light on the design and synthesis of novel carbohelical systems with more functions.

Weakly supervised learning can provide a more reliable approach in these situations. Current popular approaches mainly adopt the classification-based class activation maps (CAM) as initial pseudo labels to solve the task.

This study focuses on the electrical properties and microstructure of polypropylene(PP)-based blends used for cable insulation in nuclear power plants(NPPs).The PP-based blend,comprising isotactic PP and propylene-based elastomer(PBE)at concentrations ranging from 0 to 50 wt%,underwent a melt blending process and subsequent cobalt-60 gamma-ray irradiation with doses ranging from 0 to 250 *** conductivity,trap distribution,and alternating(AC)breakdown strength were chosen to assess the insulation *** results indicate that the addition of PBE significantly improves the electrical properties of PP under *** PP,the electrical conductivity increased with irradiation,whereas the trap depth and breakdown strength decreased ***,for the blend,these changes initially exhibit opposite *** the irradiation was increased to 250 kGy,the AC breakdown strength of the blend improved by more than 21%compared to that of *** physical and chemical structures of the samples were investigated to explore the improvement *** results offer insights into the design of new cable-insulation materials suitable for NPPs.

Quantum information masking（QIM） is a crucial technique for protecting quantum data from being accessed by local subsystems. In this paper, we introduce a novel method for achieving1-uniform QIM in multipartite systems utilizing a Fourier matrix. We further extend this approach to construct an orthogonal array with the aid of a Hadamard matrix, which is a specific type of Fourier matrix. This allows us to explore the relationship between 2-uniform QIM and orthogonal arrays. Through this framework, we derive two distinct 2-uniform quantum states,enabling the 2-uniform masking of original information within multipartite ***, we prove that the maximum number of quantum bits required for achieving a2-uniformly masked state is 2~n-1, and the minimum is 2n-1+ 3. Moreover, our scheme effectively demonstrates the rich quantum correlations between multipartite systems and has potential application value in quantum secret sharing.
