AIM： To investigate the anticancer activity of DT-13 under normoxia and determine the underlying mechanisms of action. METHODS： MDA-MB-435 cell proliferation, migration, and adhesion were performed to assess the anticancer activity of DT-13, a saponin from Ophiopogonjaponicus, in vitro. In addition, the effects of DT-13 on tumor growth and metastasis in vivo were evaluated by orthotopic implantation of MDA-MB-435 cells into nude mice; mRNA levels of vascular endothelial growth factor （VEGF）, C-C chemokine receptor type 5 （CCR5） and hypoxia-inducible factor 1a （HIF-1a） were evaluated by real-time quantitative PCR; and CCR5 protein levels were detected by Western blot assay. RESULTS： At 0.01 to 1 umol·L -1, DT-13 inhibited MDA-MB-435 cell proliferation, migration, and adhesion significantly in vitro. DT-13 reduced VEGF and CCR5 mRNAs, and decreased CCR5 protein expression by down-regulating HIF-1 a. In addition, DT-13 inhibited MDA-MB-435 cell lung metastasis, and restricted tumor growth slightly in vivo. CONCLUSION： DT-13 inhibited MDA-MB-435 cell proliferation, adhesion, and migration in vitro, and lung metastasis in vivo by reducing VEGF, CCR5, and HIF-la expression.

Painlevé property, local and nonlocal symmetries, and symmetry reductions for a (2+1)-dimensional integrable KdV equation

The Painlevé property for a(2+1)-dimensional Korteweg–de Vries(KdV) extension, the combined KP3(Kadomtsev–Petviashvili) and KP4(cKP3-4), is proved by using Kruskal’s simplification. The truncated Painlevé expansion is used to find the Schwartz form, the Bäcklund/Levi transformations, and the residual nonlocal symmetry. The residual symmetry is localized to find its finite Bäcklund transformation. The local point symmetries of the model constitute a centerless Kac–Moody–Virasoro algebra. The local point symmetries are used to find the related group-invariant reductions including a new Lax integrable model with a fourth-order spectral problem. The finite transformation theorem or the Lie point symmetry group is obtained by using a direct method.

Monitoring Method for Blast Furnace Wall With Copper Staves

A monitoring method that has been designed for the first time for blast furnace wall with copper staves manufactured in China was introduced. Combining the method of ＂inverse problem＂ and the concept ＂non-inverse problem＂, the monitoring program for blast furnace wall with copper staves has been realized, which can be used to calculate online the accretion thickness and temperature of hot surface of copper staves after obtaining the values of thermocouples of copper staves. The accretion state obtained in the actual investigation has proved that the result of the program is correct. The monitoring program shows that the accretion would easily fluctuate when the accretion layer is extremely thick or thin, thereby the stable and smooth operation of the blast furnace is hindered. By maintaining appropriate accretion thickness, both long campaigns and high productivity of the blast furnace can be achieved; furthermore, it can also optimize the operation of blast furnace and maximize its production. Approximately 30--50 mm in thickness of accretion layer is maintained on the wall of Shougang blast furnace 2, which can meet the requirement for obtaining both long campaign and high productivity.

Analysis of All-Carbon Brick bottom and Ceramic Cup Synthetic Hearth bottom

One of the bottlenecks of the blast furnace （BF） campaign is the life length of hearth bottom. The basic reason for the erosion of hearth bottom is its direct contact with hot metal. According to the theory of heat transfer, models of BF hearth bottom are built based on the actual examples using software and VC language, and the calculated results are in good agreement with the data of BF dissection after blowing out. The temperature distribution and the capability of the resistance to erosion for different structures of hearth bottom are analyzed, especially the two prevalent kinds of hearth bottom arrangements called ＂the method of heat transfer＂ for all-carbon brick bottom and ＂the method of heat isolation＂ for ceramic synthetic hearth bottom. Features of the two kinds of hearth bottoms are analyzed. Also the different ways of protecting the hearth bottom are clarified, according to some actual examples. After that, the same essence of prolonging life, and the fact that the existence of a ＂protective skull＂ with low thermal conductivity between the hot metal and brick layers is of utmost importance are shown.

Multipoint Heave Motion Prediction Method for Ships Based on the PSO-TGCN Model

During ship operations,frequent heave movements can pose significant challenges to the overall safety of the ship and completion of cargo *** existing heave compensation systems suffer from issues such as dead zones and control system time lags,which necessitate the development of reasonable prediction models for ship heave *** this paper,a novel model based on a time graph convolutional neural network algorithm and particle swarm optimization algorithm(PSO-TGCN)is proposed for the first time to predict the multipoint heave movements of ships under different sea *** enhance the dataset's suitability for training and reduce interference,various filter algorithms are employed to optimize the *** training process utilizes simulated heave data under different sea conditions and measured heave data from multiple *** results show that the PSO-TGCN model predicts the ship swaying motion in different sea states after 2 s with 84.7%accuracy,while predicting the swaying motion in three different *** performing a comparative study,it was also found that the present method achieves better performance that other popular *** model can provide technical support for intelligent ship control,improve the control accuracy of intelligent ships,and promote the development of intelligent ships.

The saponin DT-13 inhibits gastric cancer cell migration through down-regulation of CCR5-CCL5 axis

AIM: To investigate the effect of DT-13 on gastric cancer cell migration, and to explore the possible mechanisms underlying the anti-metastasis activity of DT-13. METHODS: Growth inhibition of DT-13 was analyzed by the MTT assay. Cell migration was measured by the scratch-wound assay and transwell double chamber assay. To investigate the possible mechanisms underlying the anti-metastasis activity of DT-13, chemokine receptors that are involved in cancer metastasis(CCR2, CCR5, CCR7, CXCR4, and CXCR6) were detected by conventional PCR. The effect of DT-13 on CCR5 and CXCR4 expression was further evaluated by quantitative PCR and Western blot, respectively. The secretion of CCL5(ligand of CCR5) and SDF-1(ligand of CXCR4) were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA). RESULTS: DT-13 inhibited BGC-823 and HGC-27 cell growth in a dose dependent manner, and the estimated IC50 value for 24 h treatment was 23.5 ± 5.1 μmol·L-1 for BGC-823 cells and 35.6 ± 7.6 μmol·L-1 for HGC-27 cells. DT-13 also significantly decreased gastric cancer cell migration. DT-13 significantly decreased the gene expression of CCR5 in both BGC-823 and HGC-27 gastric cancer cells, and moderately reduced the expression of CXCR4. Similar to the results of gene expression, significant down-regulation of CCR5 protein was observed, but CXCR4 protein levels were much less affected. CCL5 secretion, but not SDF-1 production, was inhibited by DT-13. CONCLUSION: DT-13 inhibited gastric cancer cell migration by down-regulation of the CCR5-CCL5 axis.

Complete mesocolic excision: Lessons from anatomy translating to better oncologic outcome

Since the introduction of complete mesocolic excision(CME) for colon cancer, the oncologic outcome of patients has been greatly improved, which has led to a longer survival and a lower recurrence, just like the total mesorectum excision for rectal cancer. Despite the fact that the exact anatomy of the organ is one of the most vital things for surgeons to conduct surgery, no team has really studied the exact structure of the mesocolon and related attachments for CME, until the mesocolonic anatomy was first formally characterized in 2012. Therefore, this article mainly focuses on the anatomy development of the mesocolon and the achievement in this field. Meanwhile, we introduce the latest progress in laparoscopic surgery for colon cancer achieved by our team.

Biological structural materials,despite consisting of limited kinds of compounds,display multifunctionalities due to their complex hierarchical *** some biomimetic strategies have been applied in artificial materials to enhance their mechanical stability,the simultaneous optimization of other functions along with the mechanical properties via biomimetic designs has not been thoroughly ***,iron oxide/carbon nanotube(CNT)-based artificial nacre with both improved mechanical and electromagnetic interference(EMI)shielding performance is fabricated via the mineralization of Fe_(3)O_(4)onto a CNTincorporated *** micro-and nano-structures of the artificial nacre are similar to those of natural nacre,which in turn improves its mechanical *** alternating electromagnetic wave-reflective CNT layers and the wave-absorptive iron oxide layers can improve the multiple reflections of the waves on the surfaces of the reflection layers,which then allows sufficient interactions between the waves and the absorption ***,compared with the reflection-dependent EMI-shielding of the non-structured material,the artificial nacre exhibits strong absorption-dependent shielding behavior even with a very low content of wave-absorptive *** to the high mechanical stability,the shielding effectiveness of the artificial nacre that deeply cut by a blade is still maintained at approximately 70%−96%depending on the incident wave *** present work provides a new way for designing structural materials with concurrently enhanced mechanical and functional properties,and a path to combine structural design and intrinsic properties of specific materials via a biomimetic strategy.
