The short release half-life of carbon monoxide(CO)is a major obstacle to the effective therapeutic use of carbon monoxide-releasing molecule-2(CORM-2).The potential of CORM-2-entrapped ultradeformable liposomes(CORM-2-UDLs)to enhance the release half-life of CO and alleviate skin inflammation was investigated in the present ***-2-UDLs were prepared by using soy phosphatidylcholine to form lipid bilayers and Tween 80 as an edge *** deformability of CORM-2-UDLs was measured and compared with that of conventional liposomes by passing formulations through a filter device at a constant *** release profile of CO from CORM-2-UDLs was evaluated by myoglobin *** vitro and in vivo anti-inflammatory effects of CORM-2-UDLs were assessed in lipopolysaccharide-stimulated macrophages and TPA-induced ear edema model,*** deformability of the optimized CORM-2-UDLs was 2.3 times higher than conventional ***-2-UDLs significantly prolonged the release half-life of CO from 30 s in a CORM-2 solution to 21.6 ***-2-UDLs demonstrated in vitro anti-inflammatory activity by decreasing nitrite production and pro-inflammatory cytokine ***,CORM-2-UDLs successfully ameliorated skin inflammation by reducing ear edema,pathological scores,neutrophil accumulation,and inflammatory cytokines *** results demonstrate that CORM-2-UDLs could be used as promising therapeutics against acute skin inflammation.

On the modification of hypereutectic Al-Si alloys using rare earth Er

Hypereutectic Al-17.5Si （wt pct） and Al-25Si （wt pct） alloys with various content of rare earth Er were prepared by conventional casting technique. The effect of Er on the microstructure and properties of the hypereutectic Al-Si alloys was investigated using optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy as well as friction and wear tests. It was found that optimal amount of Er exists in modifying the hypereutectic Al-Si alloys. An appropriate addition of Er improved the anti-wear properties, and reduced the friction coefficient of the hypereutectic Al-Si alloys studied. The primary silicon crystals in the hypereutectic Al-Si alloys were refined with the suitable addition of Er element. The modification mechanism was also discussed in this paper.

Corrosion protection of waterborne epoxy coatings containing mussel-inspired adhesive polymers based on polyaspartamide derivatives on carbon steel

A novel mussel-inspired adhesive polymer（PHEA-DOPA） containing the 3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine（DOPA） functional group based on polyaspartamide derivatives was synthesized. The corrosion protection of the waterborne epoxy coatings containing the adhesive polymers was investigated by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy（EIS）. The results indicated that the PHEA-DOPA could improve the corrosion resistance of the waterborne epoxy coating. The corrosion products were also analyzed by Raman microspectroscopy（RM）, indicating the formation of the insoluble DOPA-Fe complexes on the carbon steel surface. These complexes simultaneously acting as a passivating layer, can inhibit the process of corrosion at the metal-solution interface. The differential scanning calorimeter（DSC） measurement indicated that PHEA-DOPA can increase the crosslinking density of coating. The effect of O;on the protective mechanism of the PHEA-DOPA coating in a 3.5% NaCl solution was also evaluated by EIS. The results indicated that the barrier effect was significantly improved under aerated conditions because DOPA was oxidized to DOPA-quinone（Dq） by O;, which triggered the reaction with Fe ions that were released from the surface of the carbon steel. This led to more compact coatings.

Effect of inclusion size on the high cycle fatigue strength and failure mode of a high V alloyed powder metallurgy tool steel

The fatigue strength of a high V alloyed powder metallurgy tool steel with two different inclusion size levels, tempered at different temperatures, was investigated by a series of high cycle fatigue tests. It was shown that brittle inclusions with large sizes above 30μm prompted the occurrence of subsurface crack initiation and the reduction in fatigue strength. The fracture toughness and the stress amplitude both exerted a significant influence on the fish-eye size. A larger fish-eye area would form in the sample with a higher fracture toughness subjected to a lower stress amplitude. The stress intensity factor of the inclusion was found to lie above a typical value of the threshold stress intensity factor of 4 MPa.m^1/2. The fracture toughness of the sample with a hardness above HRC 56 could be estimated by the mean value of the stress intensity factor of the fish-eye. According to fractographic evaluation, the critical inclusion size can be calculated by linear fracture mechanics.

The main goal of this study was to investigate the effects of selected ship collision parameter values on the characteristics of the absorbed energy in several ship collision scenarios. Non-linear simulations were performed using a finite element method （FEM） to obtain virtual experiment data. In the present research, the size of the side damage from a collision phenomenon were measured and used to verify the numerical configuration together with the calculation results using an empirical equation. Parameters in the external dynamics of a ship collision such as the location of the contact point and velocity of the striking ship were taken into consideration. The internal energy and deformation size on the side structure were discussed further in a comparative study. The effects of the selected parameters on several structural behaviors, namely energy, force, and damage extent were also observed and evaluated in this section. Stiffener on side hull was found to contribute significantly into resistance capability of the target ship against penetration of the striking bow. Remarkable force during penetration was observed to occur when inner shell was crushed as certain velocity was applied in the striking bow.

AIM：To investigate the incidence and general characteristics of sports-related eye injuries in patients visiting the Emergency Department. Variation in carbon,nitrogen and phosphorus partitioning between above-and belowground biomass along a precipitation gradient at Tibetan Plateau

Precipitation is a potential factor that significantly affects plant nutrient pools by influencing biomass sizes and nutrient concentrations. However, few studies have explicitly dissected carbon(C), nitrogen(N) and phosphorus(P) pools between above- and belowground biomass at the community level along a precipitation gradient. We conducted a transect(approx. 1300 km long) study of Stipa purpurea community in alpine steppe on the Tibet Plateau of China to test the variation of N pool of aboveground biomass/N pool of belowground biomass(AB/BB N) and P pool of aboveground biomass/P pool of belowground biomass(AB/BB P) along a precipitation gradient. The proportion of aboveground biomass decreased significantly from mesic to drier sites. Along the belt transect, the plant N concentration was relatively stable; thus, AB/BB N increased with moisture due to the major influences by above- and belowground biomass allocation. However, P concentration of aboveground biomass decreased significantly with increasing precipitation and AB/BB P did not vary with aridity because of the offset effect of the P concentration and biomass allocation. Precipitation gradients do decouple the N and P pool of a S. purpurea community along a precipitation gradient in alpine steppe. The decreasing of N:P in aboveground biomass in drier regions may indicate much stronger N limitation in more arid area.

为更好地保护和管理部分哺乳类动物及其栖息地 ,自 2 0 0 1年 6月至 2 0 0 2年 3月在韩国白头大干山脉 8个被道路切割的林区内调查了道路两边一定距离内所见哺乳动物随距离增加而变化的丰富度。我们共调查了 10种哺乳类 (野猪、狍、獐、黄鼬、貉、豹猫、华南兔、松鼠、花鼠、鼹 )的各种痕迹 (粪便、足迹、食痕、卧迹及休息处 ) ,发现距道路近处两边的丰富度确有较大下降。这说明道路建设的确影响哺乳类的生境选择及其利用方式。所以今后在道路设计、管理及扩充等方面均需充分考虑和满足所有野生动物整个生命过程所需的空间要求。

AIM To investigate the temporal trends in the misdiagnosis rate between Crohn's disease(CD) and intestinal tuberculosis(ITB) in South Korea. METHODS We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of patients managed for CD or ITB at Asan Medical Center, a tertiary referral hospital, seoul, Korea between 1996 and 2014. The temporal trends in the misdiagnosis rates between the two diseases were analyzed. The demographic and clinical characteristics were compared between CD patients who were initially misdiagnosed as ITB(final CD group) and vice versa(final ITB group). Final diagnostic criteria for ITB and medication for CD before definite diagnosis of TB were also analyzed in final ITB *** In total, 2760 patients were managed for CD and 772 patients for ITB between 1996 and 2014. As well, 494 of the 2760 CD patients(17.9%) were initially misdiagnosed as ITB and 83 of the 772 ITB patients(10.8%) as CD. The temporal trend in misdiagnosing CD as ITB showed a decrease(OR = 0.89, 95%CI: 0.87-0.91, P both groups. CONCLUSION Cases of CD misdiagnosed as ITB have been decreasing, whereas cases of ITB misdiagnosed as CD have been increasing over the past two decades.

This paper presents an unbalance response analysis for a rotor bearing system that utilizes a high-density fuel as its working fluid. The extensive simulations with a LP spool rotor indicate that the unbalance response can be significantly varied by manipulation of the fluid supply pressure. It suggests that use of semi-active fluid bearing can be very effective in attenuation of unbalance response of the spool rotor, when the fluid supply pressure is properly manipulated. For comparison, the characteristics of the conventional design using rolling element bearings are also analyzed.
