The discontinuity of new types of clean energy,such as wind power and solar cells, has promoted the development of large-scale energy storage systems(EES).Rechargeable aqueous zinc-ion batteries(ZIBs) have received extensive attention due to their inherent safety and low cost. At this stage, the performance of ZIBs is still limited by cathode materials. In this work, we have constructed a ZIBs cathode material-V_(2)O_(3)@N–C, through surface coating and N atom doping. The N-doped carbon coating endows V_(2)O_(3)@N–C with excellent structural stability and enhances its electrical conductivity. As a result,V_(2)O_(3)@N–C cathode delivers exceptional reversible of Zn^(2+) intercalation/deintercalation. The fabricated Zn/V_(2)O_(3)@N–C batteries exhibit high capacity of 274.6 mAh·g^(-1) at 5 A·g^(-1) and excellent capacity retention of 94% after 2000 cycles. The reversible intercalation/deintercalation of Zn^(2+) in the V_(2)O_(3)@N–C cathode is proved by ex-situ testing methods. It is believed that this work should inject new vitality into the development of ZIBs cathode.

Resilient power systems urgently need real-time evaluation of their operational states.By mining the characteristics of the grid operational data and mapping them to the operational state,this paper proposes a method to evaluate the real-time state and the evolution direction of power systems.First,the state evaluation matrix is constructed using nodal voltages.Then,from the data-driven perspective,the grid state is embodied in the operational data change.Furthermore,four indicators are proposed to characterize the power grid statefrom inherent physical and operating characteristics perspectives.Finally,through the simulations of a real power grid in China,it is shown that the method proposed in this paper can adequately characterize the power grid state,and is robust against bad data.

Intramedullary spinal cavernous malformations with high ossification:a case report and review of the literature

Background Cavernous malformations of the spinal cord are a rare type of vascular malformation,comprising approximately 5 to 16%of all vascular lesions in the spinal cord.Depending on their origin position,these malformations can be distributed in different locations within the spinal canal.Although intramedullary cavernous malformations have been reported in the literature,they are exceedingly rare.Furthermore,highly calcified or ossified intramedullary cavernous spinal malformations are even rarer.Case presentation Here,we present a case report of a 28-year-old woman diagnosed with a thoracic intramedullary cavernous malformation.The patient had been experiencing progressive numbness in her distal limbs for a period of 2 months.During routine lung computed tomography screening for COVID-19,a hyperdense mass was noted in the patient’s spinal canal.Magnetic resonance imaging revealed a mulberry-shaped intramedullary mass at the T1-2 level.The patient underwent surgical treatment,during which the entire lesion was successfully removed,resulting in a gradual improvement of her symptoms.Histological examination confirmed the presence of cavernous malformations with calcification.Conclusions Intramedullary cavernous malformations with calcification are rare and special type that should be treated surgically in the early stage without significant neurological impairment before rebleeding or enlargement of the lesion can occur.

An ambient modal framework for inertia estimation using synchrophasor data is proposed in this letter.Specifically,an analytical formulation is developed for the estimation of inertia based on the frequency and damping ratio modes extracted from ambient data.An advantage of the proposed framework is that it can rely on synchronized ambient data under non-disturbed conditions for online estimation and tracking of inertia.Ultimately,numerical simulation studies and physical experiments demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed approach.

Vitamin A and its metabolite,retinoic acid(RA)play important roles in regulating skeletal muscle development.This study was conducted to investigate the effects of early intramuscular vitamin A injection on the muscle growth of lambs.A total of 16 newborn lambs were given weekly intramuscular injections of corn oil(control group,n=8)or 7,500 IU vitamin A palmitate(vitamin A group,n=8)from birth to 3 wk of age(4 shots in total).At 3 wk of age and weaning,biceps femoris muscle samples were taken to analyze the effects of vitamin A on the myogenic capacity of skeletal muscle cells.All lambs were slaughtered at 8 months of age.The results suggest that vitamin A treatment accelerated the growth rate of lambs and increased the loin eye area(Pbody weight of lambs(P0.05).Moreover,vitamin A upregulated the expression of PAX7(P0.05)as evidenced by myogenic gene expression and fusion index.Taken together,neonatal intramuscular vitamin A injection promotes lamb muscle growth by promoting the myogenic potential of satellite cells.

Safety accidents in the operation field of the distribution network often occur,which seriously endanger the safety and lives of operators.Existing identification methods for safety risk can identify static safety risks,such as no-helmet,no-safety gloves,etc.,but fail to identify risks in the dynamic actions of operators.Therefore,this paper proposes a skeletonbased violation action-recognition method for supervision of safety during operations in a distribution network,i.e.,based on spatial temporal graph convolutional network(STGCN)and key joint attention module(KJAM),which can implement dynamic violation behavior recognition of operators.In this method,the human posture estimation method,i.e.Multi-Person Pose Estimation,is utilized to extract the skeleton information of operators during operations,and to construct an undirected graph,which reflects the movement and posture of the human body.Then,the STGCN is utilized to identify actions of operators that can lead to dynamic violations.In addition,the KJAM captures important joint information of operators.The effectiveness and superiority of the proposed method are verified in comparison to other action recognition methods.The experimental results show that the proposed method has higher recognition accuracy for common violations collected at the actual operation site of the distribution network and shows a strong generalization ability,which can be applied to the video monitoring system of field operations to reduce the occurrence of safety accidents.

Nature has provided us the assurance and inspiration for thousands of years in synthesizing value-added chemicals,with the assistance of reactive hydrogen species,and water as the ultimate hydrogen source.However,the natural photosynthesis is inefficient due to some intrinsic properties,urging people not only to learn from but also surpass during nature imitation.In this review,we summarized recent progresses on reactive hydrogen species-assisted nanocatalytic reduction of organic molecules towards value-added fine chemicals and pharmaceuticals,with water as the hydrogen source,and especially highlighted how photocatalytically or electrocatalytically evolved reactive hydrogen species synergize with biocatalytic centers and nanocatalytic sites for reduction of organic molecules.The design principles of collaborative semi-artificial systems and nanocatalytic artificial systems,the structure tuning of catalysts for the evolution and utilization of hydrogen species,and the determination of reactive hydrogen species for mechanistic insights were discussed in detail.Finally,perspectives were provided for further advancing this emerging area of nanocatalytic reduction of organic molecules from water(or proton)and organics.

High-fidelity simulation of blade vortex interaction of helicopter rotor based upon TENO scheme

Numerical simulation methods for unsteady vortex field of helicopter rotor with high resolution and low dissipation TENO8-AA primitive variables reconstruction schemes are established based on moving-embedded grid and Navier-Stokes equations.Firstly,the Targeted Essentially Non-Oscillatory(TENO)scheme are developed by employing ENO-like candidate stencil selection strategy,and the candidate stencil is adopted with optimal weight in smooth region while it is discarded completely in discontinuous region,which reduces the dissipation and dispersion errors and approaches better spectral properties.Then,the aerodynamic characteristics of Helishape-7A model rotor in Blade Vortex Interaction(BVI)state and the flowfield of Lynx rotor in hover are simulated,which validates that the blade tip vortex trajectory with larger wake age and more details of vortex can be captured by TENO8-AA scheme with only a quarter of grid points and half time comparing to WENO-JS scheme.Moreover,the simulation accuracy of thrust coefficient is improved by up to 36%.Finally,the analyses for BVI and aeroacoustic characteristics of Operational Loads Survey(OLS)rotor are conducted,and the different forms of interaction mechanism are explored,such as oblique and parallel interactions.The results indicate that TENO scheme not only ensures the resolution of simulation in discontinuous region,but also minimizes the numerical dissipation in smooth region dominated by blade tip vortex.Therefore,the acoustic pressure peak prediction error of rotor in BVI state is significantly reduced to 5.6%and 0.8%at two microphone locations,respectively.

3D printing of osteocytic Dll4 integrated with PCL for cell fate determination towards osteoblasts in vitro

Since 3D printed hard materials could match the shape of bone,cell survival and fate determination towards osteoblasts in such materials have become a popular research target.In this study,a scaffold of hardmaterial for 3D fabrication was designed to regulate developmental signal(Notch)transduction guiding osteoblast differentiation.We established a polycaprolactone(PCL)and cell-integrated 3D printing system(PCI3D)to reciprocally print the beams of PCL and cell-laden hydrogel for a module.This PCI3D module holds good cell viability of over 87%,whereas cells show about sixfold proliferation in a 7-day culture.The osteocytic MLO-Y4 was engineered to overexpress Notch ligand Dll4,making up 25%after mixing with 75%stromal cells in the PCI3D module.Osteocytic Dll4,unlike other delta-like family members such as Dll1 or Dll3,promotes osteoblast differentiation and themineralization of primary mouse and a cell line of bone marrow stromal cells when cultured in a PCI3D module for up to 28 days.Mechanistically,osteocytic Dll4 could not promote osteogenic differentiation of the primary bone marrow stromal cells(BMSCs)after conditional deletion of the Notch transcription factor RBPjκby Cre recombinase.These data indicate that osteocytic Dll4 activates RBPjκ-dependent canonical Notch signaling in BMSCs for their oriented differentiation towards osteoblasts.Additionally,osteocytic Dll4 holds a great potential for angiogenesis in human umbilical vein endothelial cells within modules.Our study reveals that osteocytic Dll4 could be the osteogenic niche determining cell fate towards osteoblasts.This will open a new avenue to overcome the current limitation of poor cell viability and low bioactivity of traditional orthopedic implants.
