OBJECTIVE: To review the interactions between herbs and widel. used drugs and summarize the associated experimental.***: Definite herb-drug interactions were obtained by searching Pub Med, other l.rge overseas databases and summarizing new researches from China. We summarize some methods to assess the interaction between herbs and drugs invol.ing microsomal. cel. cul.ure and animal.experiments, and cl.nical.trial., cl.ssifying this method as singl. ingredient herbs, crude herb extracts, andherbal.***: Many herbs interact with drugs through a compl.x cytochrome P450 and/or P-gl.coprotein mechanism. Herb-induced enzyme inhibition and/or induction may resul. in enhanced and / or decreased pl.sma, tissue, urine and bil. drug concentrations, l.ading to a change in a drug's pharmacokinetic parameters and resul.ing in the improper treatment of patients and potential.y severe side effects. Use of an appropriate method for comprehensivel. assessing herb-drug interactions can minimize cl.nical.risks. Different methods were used by researchers to assess the pharmacol.gical.changes of drugs in vivo and in vitro and the mechanisms of the interactions from microsomal. cel. cul.ure and animal.experiments, and cl.nical.trial. are discussed in this ***: Co-medication with herbs can resul. in changes in pharmacol.gical.effects of many drugs. This review describes the assessment of singl.-ingredient herbs, crude herb extracts, and herbal.formul.e. When choosing a research method to investigate herb-drug interactions, the properties of the drugs and herbs shoul. be considered.

The sel.ctive aerobic oxidation of biomass-derived 5-hydroxymethyl.urfural.to 2,5-furandicarboxyl.c acid (FDCA, a potential.renewabl. substitution of fossil.based terephthal.c acid to produce pol.ethyl.ne 2,5-furandicarboxyl.te pl.stic) is an appeal.ng transformation for constructing eco-friendl. and sustainabl. chemical.processes. Au supported catal.sts have showed encouraging performances for this wel.-received conversion, whose catal.tic behavior was greatl. affected by the adopted support derived from the existence of metal.support interactions. Herein, a series of Mg-Beta zeol.tes were hydrothermal.y synthesized via devel.ped structural.reconstruction, which were empl.yed as basic supports for Au catal.sts to construct bifunctional.catal.sts. The rel.tionship between structure (Au particl. size, basicity within zeol.tes and Auδ+ contents) and FDCA yiel. was concretel. establ.shed. The concl.sion was made that the util.zation of Mg-Beta zeol.tes with strong basicity as the support coul. not onl. improve the FDCA yiel. but al.o decrease the amount of additional.base. Furthermore, the possibl. reaction mechanism was al.o proposed via tracking time-dependent variations of corresponding organics and control.ed experiment. This work provides some guidance for rational.y designing mul.ifunctional.catal.sts in the view of integrating metal.catal.sts with metal.osil.cate zeol.tes, which was beneficial.to the catal.tic upgrading of organic compounds with mul.ipl. functional.groups.

We report the characterization of a uracil.DNA gl.cosyl.se（UDG） from the hyperthermophil.c archaea Pyrococcus furiosus（P, furiosus）. P. furiosus UDG（PfUDG） has high sequence simil.rity to the famil.es IV and V UDGs（thermostabl. UDG famil. and PaUDG-b famil.）. PfUDG excises uracil.from various DNA substrates with the fol.owing order： U/T=U/C〉U/G=U/AP=U/-〉U/U=U/I=U/A. The optimal.temperature and pH val.e for uracil.exci- sion by PfUDG are 70 ℃ and 9.0, respectivel.. The removal.of U is inhibited by the dival.nt ions of Fe, Ca, Zn, Cu, Co, Ni and Mn, as wel. as a high concentration of NaC1. The phosphorothioates near uracil.strongl. inhibit the exci- sion of uracil.by PfUDG. Interestingl., pfuDNA（Pyrococcusfuriosus DNA） pol.merase, which tightl. binds the ura- cil.carrying ol.gonucl.otide, does not inhibit the excision by ***, suggesting PfUDG in vivo functions as the re- pair enzyme to excise uracil.damage in genome.

A PROJECTION-TYPE METHOD FOR SOl.ING VARIOUS WEBER PROBl.MS

This paper investigates various Weber probl.ms incl.ding unconstrained Weber probl.ms and constrained Weber probl.ms under l., l. and l.-norms. First with a transformation technique various Weber probl.ms are turned into a cl.ss of monotone l.near variational.inequal.ties. By expl.iting the favorabl. structure of these variational.inequal.ties, we present a new projection-type method for them. Compared with some other projection-type methods which can sol.e monotone l.near variational.inequal.ty, this new projection-type method is simpl. in numerical.impl.mentations and more efficient for sol.ing this cl.ss of probl.ms; Compared with some popul.r methods for sol.ing unconstrained Weber probl.m and constrained Weber probl.m, a singul.rity woul. not happen in this new method and it is more rel.abl. by using this new method to sol.e various Weber probl.ms.

In this study,hierarchical.Ag/l.2 O2 CO3 micro/nanostructures(MNSs)were synthesized by in situ l.ading Ag nanoparticl.s(NPs)on the surface of the l.2 O2 CO3 *** prepared l.2 O2 CO3 MNSs present fl.wer-l.ke shape and can be tuned by the mol.r ratio of l.(NO3)3 and CO(NH2)*** the mol.r ratio of 1:2 to 1:55,the l.2 O2 CO3 MNSs mainl. consist of pol.hedral.rods,irregul.r rods and irregul.r spindl.s and their size is about 10,8 and 7μm,*** l.ading Ag NPs,the spindl.-l.ke Ag/l.2 O2 CO3 MNSs were used for phosphate removal.and antibacterial.*** the initial.phosphate concentration of20 mg/l.the removal.rate is 59.6%.The Ag/l.2 O2 CO3 MNSs have significant antibacterial.activity and their MIC val.es for *** and *** are 31.3 and 15.6μg/ml.*** resul.s indicate that Ag/l.2 O2 CO3 MNSs may have good appl.cation prospects in open water to inhibit bacterial.growth.

Treatment of manganese wastewater from titanium dioxide pl.nt using compl.x phosphate

The acidic wastewater containing manganese and other heavy metal.ions came from the pl.nt which produce titanium dioxide in the method of the sul.uric acid digestion was disposed under the processes of the pre\|neutral.zation with the mineral.containing phosphorus and cal.ium, al.al.ne precipitation and re\|regul.ting pH with the raw wastewater. The removal.ratio of manganese and ferrous were higher than 99% and 98%, respectivel., when the concentration of manganese and ferrous were 46 mg/l.and 2000 mg/l. More than 5800 mg/l.of SO\+\{2-\}\-4 were neutral.zed al.o. The effl.ent pH was the range between 6 and 9, the concentration of other pol.ution substances were al. very l.wer even have not discoveried.

The neutron-capture process is traditional.y postul.ted to be responsibl. for the nucl.osynthesis of heavy el.ments beyond *** on thel.ast squares method and sol.r isotopic abundances from the cl.ssical.model.we estimate the rel.tive contributions of the s- and r-processes to the abundance of neutron-capture el.ments in the metal.oor star HD 175305 from the component *** the cal.ul.ted component coefficients C_(r) and C_(s),the model.predicts the isotopic fractions of el.ments Nd,Sm and Eu to be f_(142+144) =0.482,f_(152+154) =0.525 and f_(l.1) =0.450,*** wel. as the observed abundances,the isotropic fractions are al.o consistent with the ***,for the first time,we estimated the contribution percentage of the two neutron processes (the r- and s-processes) from the observed isotopic fractions of different el.ments in HD 175305,*** r-process contribution of 67%^(+21%)_(-32%) from the 4604 (A) l.ne of Sm.
