A phase-pure NaTi2（PO4）3/reduced graphene oxide （rGO） nanocomposite was prepared using a microwave-assisted one-pot method and subsequent heat treatment. The well-crystallized NaTi2（PO4）3 nanoparticles （30-40 nm） were uniformly precipitated on rGO templates through Ti-O-C bonds. The chemical interactions between the NaTi2（PO4）3 nanoparticles and rGO could immobilize the NaTi2（PO4）3 nanoparticles on the rGO sheets, which might be responsible for the excellent electrochemical performance of the nanocomposite. The NaTi2（PO4）B/rGO nanocomposite exhibited a specific capacity of 128.6 mA-h.g-1 approaching the theoretical value at a 0.1 C-rate with an excellent rate capability （72.9% capacity retention at 50 C-rate） and cycling performance （only 4.5% capacity loss after 1,000 cycles at a high rate of 10 C）. These properties were maintained even when the electrodes were prepared without the use of an additional conducting agent. The excellent sodium storage properties of the NaTi2（PO4）B/rGO nanocomposite could be attributed to the nano-sized NaTi2（PO4）3 particles, which significantly reduced the transport lengths for Na＋ ions, and an intimate contact between the NaTi2（PO4）3 particles and rGO due to chemical bonding.

Dear Editor,Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome(SFTS)is an emerging tick-borne infectious disease caused by a novel bunyavirus called SFTS virus(SFTSV).It was initially identified in China in 2009(Yu et al.,2011).Since then,the number of reported SFTS cases has rapidly increased in China,South Korea,and Japan(Li,et al.,2018;Takahashi et al.,2014;kim et al.,2018).Sporadic SFTS cases have also been identified in several other Asian countries,such as Vietnam,Pakistan,Myanmar,and Thailand(Takahashi et al.,2014;Tran et al.,2019;Li et al.,2021).This disease is recognized as a highly lethal viral hemorrhagic fever with a mortality rate ranging from 12%to 50%(Yu et al.,2011;Li et al.,2018;Takahashi et al.,2014;kim et al.,2013).SFTS primarily spreads to humans through bites from ticks infected with SFTSV,with the Haemaphysalis longicornis tick acting as the predominant vector for SFTSV(Zhuang et al.,2018).

This research focuses on identifying the damping ratio of bridges using nonstationary ambient vibration data. The damping ratios of bridges in service have generally been identified using operational modal analysis （OMA） based on a stationary white noise assumption for input signals. However, most bridges are generally subjected to nonstationary excitations while in service, and this violation of the basic assumption can lead to uncertainties in damping identification. To deal with nonstationarity, an amplitude-modulating function was calculated from measured responses to eliminate global trends caused by nonstationary input. A natural excitation technique （NExT）-eigensystem realization algorithm （ERA） was applied to estimate the damping ratio for a stationarized process. To improve the accuracy of OMA-based damping estimates, a comparative analysis was performed between an extracted stationary process and nonstationary data to assess the effect of eliminating nonstationarity. The mean value and standard deviation of the damping ratio for the first vertical mode decreased after signal stationarization.

AIM:To evaluate the pathogens in cultured Jones tubes used in lacrimal bypass surgery according to the postoperative periods and to obtain data for the prevention of infection of functional lacrimal stent ***:Totally 71 patients(81 eyes)who underwent the removal of Jones tubes were enrolled in *** the removed Jones tubes were cultured for bacterial and fungal identification and tested for bacterial antibiotic *** results were analyzed according to the duration of the inserted Jones tube after lacrimal bypass ***:Of the 81 eyes,bacteria were isolated from 69 eyes(85.2%)and fungi from 6 eyes(7.4%).Among 69 eyes,40.6% showed Staphylococcus aureus(***),11.6% were Pseudomonas aeruginosa(***).Gram-positive bacteria were isolated more than Gramnegative bacteria,but Gram-negative bacteria showed a higher incidence in the Jones tube implanted for over 10y(P=0.035).The antibiotic sensitivity test showed that 46.4% of *** were resistant to *** terms of antibiotics commonly used in ocular clinical practice,vancomycin was sensitive to *** and Streptococcus pneumoniae(***),amikacin responded to *** and Proteus mirabilis(***).Trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole(TMP/SMX)was all sensitive to ***,*** and *** except ***:*** is the most commonly found organism in the Jones tube after lacrimal bypass surgery,and 46.4% of them are methicillin-resistant ***(MRSA),sensitive to ***,*** responded with amikacin is dominantly detected in the Jones tubes implanted for more than 10y.

A Study on the Influences of the COVID-19 Pandemic-Related Depression, Anxiety, Stress, and Treatment-Crisis on Quality of Life in Cancer Patients - A Secondary Publication

Objective:To investigate the factors affecting the quality of life of cancer patients by examining the degree of the COVID-19 pandemic-related depression,anxiety,stress,and treatment ***:Data were collected from 132 cancer patients undergoing surgery,chemotherapy,radiotherapy,and hormone therapy at K University Hospital in D City using a structured *** period of data collection was from May 6 to May 28,*** collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics,t-test,ANOVA,Pearson’s correlation,and stepwise multiple ***:The mean scores of quality-of-life,depression,anxiety,stress,and treatment crisis during the COVID-19 pandemic were 84.64±29.09,15.14±6.49,4.66±5.27,75.83±17.70,and 78.52±19.95,*** terms of factors affecting the quality of life related to the COVID-19 pandemic,COVID-19 pandemic-related stress(β=0.41,P<0.001)appeared to have the greatest impact,followed by COVID-19 pandemic-related treatment-crisis(β=0.28,P=0.002),anxiety(β=0.21,P=0.002),and gender(β=0.14,P=0.009),with a total explanatory power of 67.6%.Conclusion:To improve the quality of life during the COVID-19 pandemic,COVID-19 pandemic-related stress,treatment-crisis,and anxiety should be periodically monitored and nursing interventions such as education on infection prevention,management,and emotional support programs should be provided to decrease the COVID-19 pandemic-related stress,treatment-crisis,and anxiety.

Many birds develop brood patches on their ventral apterium under hormonal regulation to effectively transmit body heat to eggs during *** developed patch has several characteristics,including de-feathering,vascularization,and ***,little is known about whether avian brood parasites that do not incubate their eggs exhibit brood patch development during the breeding *** this study,we measured the size of the ventral apterium in 114 Common Cuckoos(Cuculus canorus)captured in the field throughout the breeding season and examined the appearance of the ventral apterium to confirm the development of brood *** also examined whether morphological traits and various factors correlated with the size of the ventral apterium(sternal apterium and abdominal apterium)and how it changed during the breeding *** found no clear signs of brood patch development in Common Cuckoos captured throughout the breeding season,indicating that they likely did not develop brood patches on the ventral apterium during this *** also found that ventral apterium size was positively correlated with wing length and body *** addition,Common Cuckoos with newly growing feathers on the boundary of the ventral apterium with pteryla were frequently observed as seasons progressed to the *** conclusion,Common Cuckoos exhibit neither brood patch development nor the vestigial characteristics of ancestral brood patches,except for the growth of feathers on boundary the ventral *** studies examining brood patches across different groups of avian brood parasites are valuable for enhancing our understanding of the developmental and physiological adaptations of avian brood parasites.

Objective:The anti-inflammatory effects of Ecklonia cava(EC)and its mechanism of action were examined in phorbol-12 myristate 13-acetate(30 nmol/L)and A23187(1μmol/L)(PMACI)stimulated human mast cell line-1 ***:Nitric oxide content,inducible nitric oxide synthase and cyclooxygenase-2 protein expression,pro-inflammatory cytokines including IL-1β,TNF-α,and IL-6 mRNA and protein expressions were *** addition,extracellular regulated protein kinases/mitogen-activated protein kinase(ERK/MAPK)activation was ***:EC dose-dependently suppressed inducible nitric oxide synthase and cyclooxygenase-2 protein expression and subsequently it reduces nitric oxide content in PMACI stimulated human mast cell line-1 *** dose-dependently inhibited the mRNA as well as protein expression of TNF-α,IL—1β,and TL-6 in the PMACI stimulated human mast cell line-1 cells without any cytotoxic ***,EC significantly inhibited PMACI induced phosphorylation of ERK1/2 in a dose-dependent manner without affecting the total protein ***:EC exert its anti-inflammatory actions via inhibition of ERK/MAPK signalling pathway,suggesting that EC is a potent and efficacious anti-inflammatory agent for mast cellmediated inflammatory diseases.

MM： To evaluate the maximal-outer-diameter （MOD） and the maximal-mural-thickness （MMT） of the appendix in children with acute appendicitis and to determine their optimal cut-off values to diagnose acute appendicitis.METHODS： In total, 164 appendixes from 160 children between 1 and 17 years old （84 males, 76 females; mean age, 7.38 years） were examined by high-resolution abdominal ultrasound for acute abdominal pain and the suspicion of acute appendicitis. We measured the MOD and the MMT at the thickest point of the appendix. Patients were categorized into two groups according to their medical records： patients who had surgery （surgical appendix group） and patients who did not have surgery （non-surgical appendix group）. Data were analyzed by MedCalc v.9.3. The rank sum test （Mann-Whitney test） was used to evaluate the difference in the MOD and the MMT between the two groups. ROC curve analysis was used to determine the optimal cut-off value of the MOD and the MMT on diagnosis of acute appendicitis.RESULTS： There were 121 appendixes （73.8%） in the non-surgical appendix group and 43 appendixes （26.2%） in the surgical appendix group. The median MOD differed significantly between the two groups （0.37 cm vs 0.76 cm, P〈 0.0001）, and the median MMT also differed （0.15 cm vs 0.33 cm, P 〈 0.0001）. The optimal cut-off value of the MOD and the MMT for diagnosis of acute appendicitis in children was 〉 0.57 cm （sensitivity 95.4%, specificity 93.4%） and 〉 0.22 cm （sensitivity 90.7%, specificity 79.3%）, respectively.CONCLUSION： The MOD and the MMT are reliable criteria to diagnose acute appendicitis in children. An MOD 〉 0.57 cm and an MMT 〉 0.22 cm are the optimal criteria.
