Crystal habit and crystal form are critical elements in determining product properties and functions. In this work, we developed a microfluidic antisolvent crystallization technique to rapidly screen and accurately control the solid form and crystal habit of triphenylmethanol(Ph_(3)COH). This advanced technique separates the primary mixing of solutions from crystal formation(nucleation and growth) by introducing the microfluidic device, avoiding clogging in microchannels to obtain high-quality crystals. The results show that we can achieve controllable preparation of pure 2Ph_(3)COH·DMSO(DMSO solvate), pure Ph_(3)COH(form β), and mixed crystals with different mass ratios. Moreover, the microscale can prompt the DMSO solvate to grow into hexagonal sheet-like and bulk crystals. We can regulate the aspect ratio of hexagonal sheet-like crystals in binary solvents and control the crystal habit of the form β to transition between long needle-like shapes and short hexagonal prisms in DMF-H_(2)O. Meanwhile, we revealed that the solvent ratio, the antisolvent flow rate, and the initial concentration of Ph_(3)COH are the main factors affecting the solid form selectivity and morphology transition. Such a novel method would be considered as a promising technique to be extended to screen and control key crystallization parameters of other substances.

In September 2018,we proposed the cutting-edge concept of“Beyond Limits Manufacturing”(BLM).BLM technology is based on the three-dimensional inner engraving or precise outer engraving of ultra-fast laser,to invent micro/nano scale flow chips or devices,which makes it possible for the microform,integration,economy,safety,high efficiency,green and intelligence of research,development and manufacturing process,so as to realize transformational manufacturing in the era of Industry 4.0.In this paper,we reviewed the representative results we made in the field of micro/nano flow chemistry during the implementation of the BLM major project(December 2019 to August 2023),and discussed its application prospects in micro/nano flow chemistry.

Whereas the proper choice of reaction solvent constitutes the cornerstone of the green solvent concept,solvent effects on chemical reactions are not mechanistically well understood due to the lack of feasible molecular models.Herein,by taking the case study of nucleophilic addition reaction in aqueous solution,we extend the proposed multiscale reaction density functional theory(RxDFT)method to investigate the intrinsic free energy profile and total free energy profile,and study the solvent effect on the activation and reaction free energy for the nucleophilic addition reactions of hydroxide anion with methanal and carbon dioxide in aqueous solution.The predictions of the free energy profile in aqueous solution for these two nucleophilic addition reactions from RxDFT have a satisfactory agreement with the results from the RISM and MD-FEP simulation.Meanwhile,the solvent effect is successfully addressed by examining the difference of the free energy profile between the gas phase and aqueous phase.In addition,we investigate the solvent effect on the reactions occurred near solid-liquid interfaces.It is shown that the activation free energy is significantly depressed when reaction takes place in the region within 10A distance to the substrate surface owing to the decrease of hydration free energy at the solid-liquid interface.

Continuous synthesis of dolutegravir sodium crystals using liquid-gas heterogeneous microreactor

In this work, a liquid-gas heterogeneous microreactor was developed for investigating continuous crystallization of dolutegravir sodium(DTG), as well as revealing reaction kinetics and mixing mechanism with 3-min data acquisition. The reaction kinetics models were established by visually recording the concentration variation of reactants over time in the microchannel via adding pH-sensitive fluorescent dye. The mixing intensification mechanism of liquid-gas flow was quantified through the fluorescent signal to indicate mixing process, demonstrating an outstanding mixing performance with a mixing time less than 0.1 s. Compared with batch crystallization, continuous synthesis of dolutegravir sodium using liquid-gas heterogenous microreactor optimizes crystal distribution size, and successfully modifies the crystal morphology in needle-like habit instead of rod-like habit. The microreactor continuous crystallization can run for 5 h without crystal blockage and achieve D90 of DTG less than 30 μm. This work provides a feasible approach for continuously synthesizing dolutegravir sodium, and can optimize the existing pharmaceutical crystallization.

基于人工智能建置的风险评估在美国等国家的刑事司法中得到广泛运用,风险评估可能受开发者的主观价值判断影响,产生偏见、歧视及违反正当程序原则等问题,但因为人工智能算法具有“黑箱”等性质,对风险评估进行实质审查的难度较高,导致被评估人救济自身合法权利的途径受阻。如果要将风险评估引入我国司法语境,需要对其设置一定的规制措施。在将风险评估与宪法、刑法、刑事诉讼法中的相关法律原则进行理念辩证后,确定风险评估的规制方向,并因应制定规制措施。从透明性规制的角度而言,准确选取公开数据的种类,以民主参与为核心建构数据公开制度;从问责性规制的角度而言,建立风险评估的事前审查机制与事后监督程序;同时需要预防司法人员可能出现的“自动化自满”倾向。

A dynamical model is constructed to depict the spatial-temporal evolution of malware in mobile wireless sensor networks(MWSNs). Based on such a model, we design a hybrid control scheme combining parameter perturbation and state feedback to effectively manipulate the spatiotemporal dynamics of malware propagation. The hybrid control can not only suppress the Turing instability caused by diffusion factor but can also adjust the occurrence of Hopf bifurcation induced by time delay. Numerical simulation results show that the hybrid control strategy can efficiently manipulate the transmission dynamics to achieve our expected desired properties, thus reducing the harm of malware propagation to MWSNs.

AIM:To investigate the effect of electroacupuncture(EA)on the mitochondria-dependent apoptotic signaling pathway in the ciliary muscle of guinea pigs with negative lensinduced myopia(LIM).METHODS:Guinea pigs were randomly divided into normal control(NC)group,LIM group,LIM+SHAM acupoint(LIM+SHAM)group,and LIM+EA group.Animals in the NC group received no intervention,while those in other three groups were covered with-6.0 diopter(D)lenses on right eyes.Meanwhile,animals in the LIM+EA group received EA at Hegu(LI4)combined with Taiyang(EX-HN5)acupoints,while those in the LIM+SHAM group were treated at sham points.After treatments for 1,2,and 4wk,morphological changes in ciliary muscles were observed with hematoxylin and eosin(H&E)staining and nick end labeling(TUNEL),and the expression of the mitochondrial apoptotic signaling pathway-related molecules in ciliary muscles was measured by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction(qPCR)and Western blot.Additionally,the adenosine triphosphate(ATP)contents were also determined in ciliary muscles.RESULTS:Axial length increased significantly in the LIM and LIM+SHAM groups and decreased in the LIM+EA group.The ciliary muscle fibers were broken and destroyed in both LIM and LIM+SHAM groups,whereas those in the LIM+EA group improved significantly.TUNEL assay showed the number of apoptotic cells increased in the LIM and LIM+SHAM groups,whereas reduced in the LIM+EA group.ATP contents showed a significant decrease in the LIM and LIM+SHAM groups,whereas increased after EA treatment.Compared with the NC group,the dynamin-related protein 1(DRP1),Caspase3,and apoptotic protease activator 1(APAF1)levels were significantly increased in the LIM group and decreased in the LIM+EA group.CONCLUSION:The results provide evidence of EA inhibiting the development of myopia by regulating the mitochondrial apoptotic signaling pathway.

为有效贯彻对罪错未成年人“教育、感化、挽救”的方针,通过对国外相关制度进行借鉴,未成年人恢复性司法成为我国理论界因应未成年人犯罪的时兴观念,但司法实践经验仍有所阙如。为加快推进未成年人恢复性司法的本土化建构,应在现有刑事和解制度的基础上,从加害人、被害人及刑事法治的不同角度确立一系列指导原则,再以之为基础设计制度方案。未成年人恢复性司法可由适用条件、参与主体、适用阶段及修复会议等要素组成,并通过修正司法实践及调查问卷中暴露的问题不断进行自我完善。

Optimizing sludge dewatering with a combined conditioner of Fenton’s reagent and cationic surfactant

Enhancing sludge dewatering is of importance in reducing environmental burden and disposal costs.In this work, a cationic surfactant, cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide(CTAB), was combined with Fenton’s reagent for sludge dewatering.Results show that the Fenton-CTAB conditioning significantly promotes the sludge dewatering.Using combined techniques of response surface methodology and uniform design, dosages of Fe2+, H2O2, and CTAB for water content response were optimized to be 89, 276, and 233 mg/g dry solids(DS),respectively.The water content of sludge decreased from 79.0% to 66.8% under the optimal conditions.Compared with cationic polyacrylamide, the Fenton-CTAB system exhibited superior sludge dewatering performance.To gain insights into the mechanisms involved in sludge dewatering, the effects of Fenton-CTAB conditioning on the composition of extracellular polymeric substances(EPS) and the morphology of the sludge flocs were investigated.The decomposition of EPS into some dissolved organics and the release of proteins in tightly bound EPS facilitated the conversion of bound water to free water and further reduced the water content of sludge cake.After conditioning, morphology of sludge showed aggregation.Overall, the enhanced sludge dewatering by Fenton-CTAB treatment provides an efficient way for management of sewage sludge.

Performance of single versus two operators in laparoscopic surgery

Aim:To examine the significance of team collaboration in the context of complex laparoscopic surgery,laparoscopic tasks performed by single operators are compared against that of dyad teams.Methods:The laparoscopic tasks require subjects to reach,grasp and transport a ring through a rollercoaster obstacle using a pair of laparoscopic graspers.The task was performed either bimanually(using both hands)or unimanually(using their preferred hands)in a dyad team.Results:Twelve participants completed all the tasks.The dyad teams recorded significantly greater number of anticipatory movements than individuals who performed the task bimanually(p<0.05).However,there is no significant difference in the task completion time(p=0.701)and the number of errors(p=0.860)recorded between the dyad and the bimanual group.Conclusion:Compared to a single operator,dyad operators performed the task with greater number of anticipatory movements.The increased movement synchronization can help benefit surgical education and team training.
