Single-phase multiferroic materials of rare-earth orthoferrites with magnetism and ferroelectricity are of great technological importance in storage ***,the polarization(P)of these materials is generally weak(0.01μC-cm^(-2)),and the ferroelectricity is reported to exist below room temperature(25℃).Here,(Bi_(0.2)La_(0.2)Y_(0.2)Dy_(0.2)Tb_(0.2))FeO_(3)(BLYDTFO)high-entropy oxides that exhibit a saturation P of 5.3μ***^(-2)at the electric field(E)of 45 kV·cm^(-1)at room temperature was designed and fabricated by the conventional solid-phase *** results show that configurational entropy introduces atomic disorder and a larger tilt of bo6 octahedron,which facilitates noncentrosymmetric distortion and ferroelectricity at room temperature compared with other single components(LaFeO_(3),YFeO_(3),DyFeO_(3),and TbFeO_(3)).This high-entropy approach expands the compositional window of the rare-earth orthoferrites to enhance the ferroelectricity in multiferroic applications.

The uniform mesoporous SBA-15 consisting of SiO2 with long-range channels Offers an excellent host material to synthesize or assemble the magnetic nanocomposites, such as Fe, ni. In this paper, highly dispersed and uniform iron nanoparticles were incorporated into the pore channels of SBA-15 through a newly developed strategy in which some kinds of coupling agents were used to entrap the nanoparticles into the silica framework. The X-ray diffraction （XRD）, fourier transmission infrared spectroscopy （FTIR）, high-resolution transmission electronic microscopy （HRTEM） and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy （EDX） were performed to further identify the successful incorporation and grafting of iron. Compared with other ordinary non-assembled magnetic nanoparticles, the assembled Fe nanoparticles with the diameter even in the size range of 5～6 nm still have better magnetic properties.

To reduce the influence of laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy （LIBS） experimental parameter fluctuations to quantitative analysis of slag components, a normalization method using integral intensity of plasma image was proposed and a series of experiments with slag samples were performed. Mg II 279.55 nm, Ca II 396.85 and Ca I 422.67 nm were selected as analytical lines, and analytical curves of reference mass fractions versus spectral line intensities were established. With the incre- ment of set threshold for edge extraction of plasma image, the determination coefficients and relative standard deviations of analytical curves were improved gradually and reached the optimmn values when the threshold was equal to 10 000. Comparing with the results without normalization and normalized by whole spectrum area, the relativity between spectral line intensity and mass fraction can be enhanced etfieiently after normalized by integral intensity of plasma image. The verification experiments with Ti alloy samples further confirmed the conclusions mentioned above.

Segmenting the lesion regions from the ultrasound （US） images is an important step in the intra-operative planning of some computer-aided therapies. High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound （HIFU）, as a popular computer-aided therapy, has been widely used in the treatment of uterine fibroids. However, such segmentation in HIFU remains challenge for two reasons：（1） the blurry or missing boundaries of lesion regions in the HIFU images and （2） the deformation of uterine fibroids caused by the patient＇s breathing or an external force during the US imaging process, which can lead to complex shapes of lesion regions. These factors have prevented classical active contour-based segmentation methods from yielding desired results for uterine fibroids in US images. In this paper, a novel active contour-based segmentation method is proposed, which utilizes the correlation information of target shapes among a sequence of images as prior knowledge to aid the existing active contour method. This prior knowledge can be interpreted as a unsupervised clustering of shapes prior modeling. Meanwhile, it is also proved that the shapes correlation has the low-rank property in a linear space, and the theory of matrix recovery is used as an effective tool to impose the proposed prior on an existing active contour model. Finally, an accurate method is developed to solve the proposed model by using the Augmented Lagrange Multiplier （ALM）. Experimental results from both synthetic and clinical uterine fibroids US image sequences demonstrate that the proposed method can consistently improve the performance of active contour models and increase the robustness against missing or misleading boundaries, and can greatly improve the efficiency of HIFU therapy.

Microstructure and antibacterial property of stainless steel implanted by Cu ions

Copper ions were implanted into AISI 304 austenitic stainless steel by metal vapor vacuum are (MEVVA) with 60 - 100 keV energy and a dose range (0.2 - 5.0) × 1017 cm-2. Then Cu-implanted stainless steel was treated by a special antibacterial treatment. Antibacterial rates of Cu-implanted stainless steel, Cu-implanted stainless steel with special antibacterial treatment and un-implanted stainless steel were obtained by agar plate method. Phase composition in the implanted layer was analyzed by glancing X-ray diffraction (GXRD). Microstructure of antibacterial stainless steel was observed with transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and changes of the bacterium appearance after 24 h antibacterial action on the surface of un-implanted and Cu-implanted stainless steel with antibacterial treatment were observed with bio-TEM respectively. The results show that stainless steel obtains antibacterial property against E. coli when the Cu ions dose approaches to the saturated one. A suitable amount of Cu-rich phase uniformly disperses on the surface of Cu-implanted stainless steel that is treated by the special antibacterial treatment. The Cu-rich phase naked on the surface has a function of damage to pericellular membrane and cell wall,the pericellular membrane is thickened and the karyon degraded, and finally, bacteria die. Cu-rich phase naked on the surface endows stainless steel with best antibacterial property.

While the past years have witnessed great achievement in pseudocapacitors,the inauguration of electrode materials of high-performance still remains a formidable ***,the capacity and rate capability of the electrode depends largely on its electrical conductivity,which ensures fast charge transfer kinetics in both the grain bulk and grain ***,nickel hydroxides with oxygen vacancies are facilely fabricated via a hydrothermal *** active materials exhibit a high specific capacitance of 3250 F·g^(−1)and a high areal of capacitance of 14.98 F·cm^(−2)at 4.6 mA·cm^(−2).The asymmetric supercapacitor device based on our material delivers a high energy density of~71.6 Wh·kg^(−1)and a power density of~17,300 W·kg^(−1)and could retain~95%of their initial capacitance even after 30,000 *** addition,the defect-rich hydroxides demonstrate higher electrical conductivity as well as dielectric constant,which is responsible for the superior pseudocapacitive *** new scientific strategy in terms of taking the advantages of oxygen vacancies might open up new opportunities for qualified pseudocapacitive materials of overall high performances not only for nickel hydroxides but also for other metal hydroxides/oxides.

High-entropy materials(HEMs),which are newly manufactured compounds that contain five or more metal cations,can be a platform with desired properties,including improved electrocatalytic performance owing to the inherent ***,a strain engineering methodology is proposed to design transition-metal-based HEM by Li manipulation(LiTM)with tunable lattice strain,thus tailoring the electronic structure and boosting electrocatalytic *** confirmed by the experiments and calculation results,tensile strain in the LiTM after Li manipulation can optimize the d-band center and increase the electrical ***,the asprepared LiTM-25 demonstrates optimized oxygen evolution reaction and hydrogen evolution reaction activity in alkaline saline water,requiring ultralow overpotentials of 265 and 42 mV at 10 mA cm−2,*** strikingly,LiTM-25 retains 94.6%activity after 80 h of a durability test when assembled as an anion-exchange membrane water ***,in order to show the general efficacy of strain engineering,we incorporate Li into electrocatalysts with higher entropies as well.

Radio frequency(RF)heating is usually used to control insects while maintaining the quality of harvested *** packaging conditions may influence RF heating uniformity,insecticidal efficacy,product quality,and energy *** RF unit was used for conducting thermal treatments to evaluate the heating uniformity,the mortality of Rhizopathy dominica,the main quality attributes of mung beans under four packaging conditions,and the energy *** results show that after the aluminum foil sheet was added at the top or bottom side of bags,the RF heating uniformity was *** mortality of Rhizopathy dominica in mung beans was 100%for vacuum-packaged bags added with aluminum sheets on the bottom side and ordinarily sealed *** fastest cooling rate was observed in vacuum-packaged bags with aluminum foil sheets added at the top *** energy efficiency of the RF system for treating mung beans in Packaging A,B,C,and D were 54.8%,56.0%,53.6%,and 54.8%,*** effective RF treatment protocol was developed using vacuum-packaged bags with aluminum sheets added at the bottom side,54℃hot air assisted RF treatment under an electrode gap of 13.5 cm for 5 min,holding for 6 min,and placing bags upward for *** suitable packaging condition could be explored for developing practical RF disinfestation treatments.
