Solvothermal synthesis and adsorption performance of layered boehmite using aluminum chloride and high-alumina fly ash

High alumina fly ash(FAHAl)is a kind of bulk solid waste unique to China,whose availability of high-value aluminum and the threat to the environment makes its high-value utilization *** this work,the alumina containing leaching solution obtained from Na_(2)CO_(3) roasting and HCl leaching of FAHAl was used as the mother liquor to prepare layered boehmite in *** preparation process with AlCl_(3) as the raw material was also *** formation process and mechanism of boehmite,the choice of solvent,along with the adsorption capability of Congo red were analyzed by X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,Brunauer-Emmett-Teller method and adsorption *** showed that during the preparation of layered boehmite,the precursor Al(OH)_(3) from the reaction of Al^(3+) and OH-is transformed into boehmiteγ-*** existence of ethanol is beneficial to regulate and promote the growth of boehmite crystal *** water and ethanol are mixed with a volume ratio of 2:1 and used as the solvent,the maximum specific surface area of the boehmite is obtained at 135.7 m^(2)·g^(-1),and 99.16%of Congo red can be absorbed after 10 min when AlCl3 is used as a raw *** purified leaching solution is used as the mother liquid,the crystallinity of boehmite decreases slightly when the pH value decreases from 12.5 to *** pH is 11,the removal efficiency of Congo red reaches a maximum of 72.25%.This process not only achieves the extraction of aluminum and high-value utilization of FAHAl but also provides a thought to prepare layered boehmite with adsorption properties.

Numerical simulation of transient characteristics in a bulb turbine during the load rejection process

To evaluate the safety of the bulb tubular turbine,the dynamic hydraulic characteristics of a hydropower station system during the load rejection process are studied through numerical simulations and a prototype *** the developed model,a dynamic grid technology(DGT)controls the closure of the guide vane and the blade,whilst the moment balance equation and the user-defined function(UDF)provide the runner’s rotation *** 3-D transient simulation method can well predict the rotation speed and mass flow curves in the state of load *** simulation outcomes of the system performance are basically consistent with the measurement data of the *** observed,the runner is subjected to the reversely increased torque and axial force,the system is in a braking phase,and the maximum speed peaks at 144.6%of the rated ***,the internal flow of the runner is greatly affected by the closure of the guide vane,and the draft tube forms an eccentric spiral vortex *** breaks downstream,aggravating the instability of the draft ***,the transient characteristics span for the first five seconds,demonstrating the importance of establishing an efficient governing *** obtained results are useful for designing the turbine’s flow channel with a double regulating function and comprehending the turbine’s transient characteristics.

Early non-invasive diagnosis of coronary heart disease(CHD)is ***,it is challenging to achieve accurate CHD diagnosis via detecting *** this work,heterostructured complexes of black phosphorus(BP)and two-dimensional carbide and nitride(MXene)with high gas sensitivity and photo responsiveness were formulated using a self-assembly strategy.A light-activated virtual sensor array(LAVSA)based on BP/Ti_(3)C_(2)Tx was prepared under photomodulation and further assembled into an instant gas sensing platform(IGSP).In addition,a machine learning(ML)algorithm was introduced to help the IGSP detect and recognize the signals of breath samples to diagnose *** to the synergistic effect of BP and Ti_(3)C_(2)Tx as well as photo excitation,the synthesized heterostructured complexes exhibited higher performance than pristine Ti_(3)C_(2)Tx,with a response value 26%higher than that of pristine Ti_(3)C_(2)*** addition,with the help of a pattern recognition algorithm,LAVSA successfully detected and identified 15 odor molecules affiliated with alcohols,ketones,aldehydes,esters,and ***,with the assistance of ML,the IGSP achieved 69.2%accuracy in detecting the breath odor of 45 volunteers from healthy people and CHD *** conclusion,an immediate,low-cost,and accurate prototype was designed and fabricated for the noninvasive diagnosis of CHD,which provided a generalized solution for diagnosing other diseases and other more complex application scenarios.

Hybrid concurrency control protocol for data sharing among heterogeneous blockchains

With the development of information technology and cloud computing,data sharing has become an important part of scientific *** traditional data sharing,data is stored on a third-party storage platform,which causes the owner to lose control of the *** a result,there are issues of intentional data leakage and tampering by third parties,and the private information contained in the data may lead to more significant ***,data is frequently maintained on multiple storage platforms,posing significant hurdles in terms of enlisting multiple parties to engage in data sharing while maintaining *** this work,we propose a new architecture for applying blockchains to data sharing and achieve efficient and reliable data sharing among heterogeneous *** design a new data sharing transaction mechanism based on the system architecture to protect the security of the raw data and the processing *** also design and implement a hybrid concurrency control protocol to overcome issues caused by the large differences in blockchain performance in our system and to improve the success rate of data sharing *** took Ethereum and Hyperledger Fabric as examples to conduct crossblockchain data sharing *** results show that our system achieves data sharing across heterogeneous blockchains with reasonable performance and has high scalability.

Underwater four-quadrant dual-beam circumferential scanning laser fuze using nonlinear adaptive backscatter filter based on pauseable SAF-LMS algorithm

The phenomenon of a target echo peak overlapping with the backscattered echo peak significantly undermines the detection range and precision of underwater laser *** overcome this issue,we propose a four-quadrant dual-beam circumferential scanning laser fuze to distinguish various interference signals and provide more real-time data for the backscatter filtering *** enhances the algorithm loading capability of the *** order to address the problem of insufficient filtering capacity in existing linear backscatter filtering algorithms,we develop a nonlinear backscattering adaptive filter based on the spline adaptive filter least mean square(SAF-LMS)*** also designed an algorithm pause module to retain the original trend of the target echo peak,improving the time discrimination accuracy and anti-interference capability of the ***,experiments are conducted with varying signal-to-noise ratios of the original underwater target echo *** experimental results show that the average signal-to-noise ratio before and after filtering can be improved by more than31 d B,with an increase of up to 76%in extreme detection distance.

Dexamethasone implant for refractory macular edema secondary to diabetic retinopathy and retinal vein occlusion

AIM:To evaluate the efficacy,timing of retreatment and safety of dexamethasone(DEX)implant on macular edema(ME)secondary to diabetic retinopathy(DME)and retinal vein occlusion(RVO-ME)patients who were refractory to anti-vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)***:This retrospective study included 37 eyes received at least one DEX implant treatment for DME or RVO-ME between January 1,2019,and January 1,*** refractory DME and RVO-ME cases received at least 5 anti-VEGF injections and failure to gain more than 5 letters or a significant reduction in central retinal thickness(CRT).The best corrected visual acuity(BCVA)and CRT were measured at baseline,and at 1,3,4 and 6mo post-DEX implant *** events such as elevated intraocular pressure(IOP)and cataract were ***:For RVO cases(n=22),there was a significant increase in BCVA from 0.27±0.19 to 0.35±0.20 at 6mo post-DEX injection(P<0.05)and CRT decreased from 472.1±90.6 to 240.5±39.0μm at 6mo(P<0.0001).DME cases(n=15)experienced an improvement in BCVA from 0.26±0.15 to 0.43±0.20 at 6mo post-DEX implant injection(P=0.0098),with CRT reducing from 445.7±55.7 to 271.7±34.1μm at 6mo(P<0.0001).Elevated IOP occurred in 45.9%of patients but was well-controlled with topical *** cases of cataract or other adverse events were ***:DEX implants effectively improve BCVA and reduce CRT in refractory DME and *** research with larger cohorts and longer follow-up periods is needed to confirm these findings and assess long-term outcomes.

Due to the rapid advancement of technologies,there has been a significant increase in the discharge of industrial wastewater,and freshwater is becoming a scarce ***,research on solar evaporators is mainly focused on the efficient production of clean water,with less emphasis on the removal of residual pollutants remaining in the original *** this study,problems,including the difficult recovery of catalyst powder and the difficult removal of floating organic matter are solved by co-depositing low-surface-tension zirconia particles and bismuth tungstate onto the floating *** and melamine sponges were combined to solve the problem that traditional hydrogels lack mechanical *** excellent water-repellent effect can be seen from the contact angle between the liquid globule and canvas/felt,which is greater than 155°.The steam generation rate of the assembled evaporation system is 1.78 kg m^(-2)h^(-1),and its purification efficiency for methyl orange and rhodamine B exceeds 99%.This study presents a novel strategy for treating wastewater contaminated with organic dyes,aiming to solve problems including environmental damage,water pollution,and water scarcity.

boosting bulk charge transport of CuWO_(4) photoanodes via Cs doping for solar water oxidation

Copper tungstate(CuWO_(4))is a promising photoanode for photoelectrochemical(PEC)water splitting due to its appropriate energy band position and broad light absorption ***,the inherent unfilled 3d atomic orbital of Cu acts as a natural electron-hole recombination site,significantly constraining the PEC performance of CuWO_(4).Herein,Cs atoms with complete atomic orbitals are doped into CuWO_(4)in order to obtain better bulk charge separation *** a result,the photocurrent of Cs@CuWO_(4)increases from 0.57 to 0.99 mA cm^(-2)compared to CuWO_(4)at 1.23 V *** hydrogen electrode(RHE)under AM 1.5G illumination,as well as the bulk charge transfer efficiencies rising from 13.5%to 19.3%.In addition,density of states(DOS)calculations further prove that the introduction of Cs atoms effectively suppresses the contribution of Cu 3d orbitals at the Fermi *** work offers a valuable reference for the advancement of CuWO_(4)as the next-generation PEC photoanode material.

Magnetic resonance imaging of knees:a novel approach to predict recombinant human growth hormone therapy response in short-stature children in late puberty

Background There is no appropriate tool to predict recombinant human growth hormone(rhGH)response before therapy initiation in short-stature children in late *** current study aimed to explore the associations between magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)stages of the knee growth plates and rhGH response in short-stature children in late *** In this prospective cohort study,short-stature children in late puberty were treated with rhGH and followed up for 6 *** proposed a novel knee MRI staging system according to the growth plate states of distal femurs or proximal tibias and divided the participants into three groups:unclosed growth plate group,marginally closed growth plate group,and nearly closed growth plate *** primary outcomes were height gain and growth velocity(GV),which were assessed three months *** Fifty participants were enrolled,including 23 boys and 27 *** and height gain after 6 months of rhGH therapy decreased successively in the three groups with an increased degree of growth plate fusion,especially when grouped by proximal tibias(GV_(1-3 mon)from 9.38 to 6.08 to 4.56 cm/year,GV_(4-6 mon)from 6.75 to 4.92 to 3.25 cm/year,and height gain from 4.03 to 2.75 to 1.95 cm,all P<0.001).Moreover,the MRI stages of growth plates independently served as a significant variable for GV and height gain after therapy,especially when grouped by proximal tibias(all P<0.01).Conclusion The MRI staging method is expected to be an effective tool for predicting rhGH response before therapy initiation in short-stature children in late puberty.

Optimal geometrical configuration and oxidation state of cobalt cations in spinel oxides to promote the performance of Li-O_(2) battery

Co_(3)O_(4) is considered as one of promising cathode catalysts for lithium oxygen(Li-O_(2))batteries,which contains both tetrahedral Co^(2+)sites(Co^(2+)Td)and octahedral Co^(3+)sites(Co^(3+)Oh).It is important to reveal the effect of optimal geometric configuration and oxidation state of cobalt ion in Co_(3)O_(4) to improve the performance of Li-O_(2) ***,through regulating the synthesis process,Co^(2+)and Co^(3+)sites in Co_(3)O_(4) were replaced with Zn and Al atoms to form materials with a unique Co *** Li-O_(2) batteries based on ZnCo_(2)O_(4) showed longer cycle life than that of CoAl_(2)O_(4),suggesting that in Co_(3)O_(4),the Co^(3+)Oh site is a relatively better geometric configuration than Co^(2+)Td site for Li-O_(2) *** calculations revealed that Co^(3+)Oh sites provide higher catalysis activity,regulating the adsorption energy of the intermediate LiO_(2) and accelerating the kinetics of the reaction in batteries,which further leads to the change of the morphology of the discharge product and ultimately improves the electrochemical performance of the batteries.
