BACKGROUND Fat embolism syndrome(FES)is a rare complication caused by the presence of fat particles in the microcirculation,which usually occurs within 12-72 h after *** present,there have been few cases of fat embolism presenting within 3 h after ***,we report a case of femoral fracture complicated with an acute fat embolism caused by a car *** SUMMARY A 29-year-old woman with pain,swelling and limited movement of her left lower limb after a car accident was taken by ambulance to our hospital.X-ray examination showed fracture of the middle and lower part of the left femur and fracture of the base of the left fifth metatarsal *** was hospitalized and admitted to the orthopedic *** the attending doctor performed tibial tubercle bone traction,the patient became confused,followed by respiratory ***,she was transferred to the intensive care *** nearly a month of treatment in the intensive care unit,the patient's cognitive function gradually recovered over 6 *** For patients with early traumatic fractures,young emergency physicians and orthopedics should be aware of the possibility of FES.

Mg-doped CaCO_(3)nanoarchitectures assembled by(441)high-index facets for efficient trace removal of Pb(Ⅱ)

Removal of trace heavy metal ions puts high demands on designing adsorbents with favorable ***-plane engineering can provide controllable adsorption energy between surficial planes and ***,we have creatively synthesized Mg-doped CaCO_(3)nanoarchitectures assembled by layered sheets(Mg-CaCO_(3)LSs)with high-index facets of(441)through a facile wet chemical *** tests reveal that the layer-bylayer assembled sample exhibits a maximum Pb(II)adsorption capacity of 1961.9 mg·g^(-1),agreeing with the monolayer-adsorption Langmuir *** an initial Pb(II)ion concentration of 20 mg·L^(-1),the adsorption can achieve a high removal rate near 99.0%within 1 min,and the adsorption kinetics follows a chemisorption pseudo-second-order ***,the Mg-CaCO_(3)LSs show much-improved adsorption properties towards low-concentration Pb(II)ions,which could reduce the concentration from 1 mg·L^(-1)to~2.9μg·L^(-1)in 3 h(within 30 min decrease to less than 10μg·L^(-1),meeting drinking water standard from WHO).For comparison,the commercial CaCO_(3)and collected CaCO_(3)scale show much lower adsorption values with Pb(Ⅱ)ion residual concentration of~935.0 and~944.9μg·L^(-1)in 3 h,*** diffraction(XRD),energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS),and inductively coupled plasma(ICP)characterizations on the Mg-CaCO_(3)LSs before and after adsorbing Pb(Ⅱ)confirm that the high removal performance could be ascribed to fast metal ion exchange and excellent physical adsorption contributed by high-index *** density functional theory(DFT)calculations also confirm that the much-enhanced adsorption kinetics benefits from the optimal adsorption of the(441)*** work will provide a feasible route to design highefficient low-cost adsorbents through crystal-plane engineering.

The microstructure evolution and properties of medium-carbon cast steel alloyed with different Ni contents after tempering at various temperatures have been *** addition of 0.47-1.59 wt.%Ni content results in the formation of 16%-36% retained austenite(RA).The blocky and irregular-polygonal RA mainly forms along the prior austenite grain boundaries,and the tempering temperature does not affect the RA *** hardness of medium-carbon cast steel is affected by the precipitation of carbides and the hardness of *** RA content is the main cause of intergranular impact rupture and low impact *** long-strip carbides formed after tempering at 320℃ would further reduce the impact energy of medium-carbon cast *** tempering at 220 and 380℃,the increase in impact energy is attributed to the formation of rod-like and spherical carbides and the low-carbon *** the medium-carbon cast steel with high impact energy,its impact-abrasive wear resistance is more ***-cutting and delamination are the primary wear mechanisms.

2D multi-model general predictive iterative learning control for semi-batch reactor with multiple reactions

Batch to batch temperature control of a semi-batch chemical reactor with heating/cooling system was discussed in this study. Without extensive modeling investigations, a two-dimensional(2D) general predictive iterative learning control(2D-MGPILC) strategy based on the multi-model with time-varying weights was introduced for optimizing the tracking performance of desired temperature profile. This strategy was modeled based on an iterative learning control(ILC) algorithm for a 2D system and designed in the generalized predictive control(GPC) framework. Firstly, a multi-model structure with time-varying weights was developed to describe the complex operation of a general semi-batch reactor. Secondly, the 2 D-MGPILC algorithm was proposed to optimize simultaneously the dynamic performance along the time and batch axes. Finally, simulation for the controller design of a semi-batch reactor with multiple reactions was involved to demonstrate that the satisfactory performance could be achieved despite of the repetitive or non-repetitive disturbances.

Degradation of Hydrogenated Nitrile-butadiene Rubber in Aqueous Solutions of H2S or HCI

The degradation of hydrogenated nitrile-butadiene rubber（HNBR） soaped in aqueous solutions of HzS and HC1 was investigated, The samples unexposed and exposed to different solutions were characterized by 13C nuclear magnetic resonance（~3C NMR）, X-ray photoelectron and infrared spectroscopies. In contrast to those of unexposed samples and samples soaped in HCI solution, the mechanical properties of samples exposed to H2S solution signifi- cantly deteriorated, in which the new groups of C（=O）--NH2, C--S--C and C=S emerged. The mechanism of C=S and C--S--C formation was speculated, except for that of the formation of group C（=O）--NH2, which was widely discussed in acidic condition such as HC1 solution. The formation of C--S--C was due to radical reaction in- itiated by mercapto radical and that of C=S was due to nucleophilic reaction initiated by mercapto cations. This finding is helpful to understanding the seal failure of HNBR in working cnvironment containing H2S.

Nanocomposite is proved to be an effective method to improve thermoelectric *** the present study,graphene is introduced into p-type skutterudite La0.8Ti0.1Ga0.1Fe3CoSb12 by plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition（PECVD）method to form skutterudite/graphene *** is demonstrated that the graphene has no obvious effect on the electrical conductivity of La0.8Ti0.1Ga0.1Fe3CoSb12,but the Seebeck coefficient is slightly improved at high temperature,thereby leading to high power ***,due to the enhancement of phonon scattering by the graphene,the lattice thermal conductivity is reduced ***,the maximum z T value of La0.8Ti0.1Ga0.1Fe3CoSb12/graphene is higher than that of graphene-free alloy and reaches to 1.0 at 723 *** an approach raised by us enriches prospects for future practical application.

Anti-proliferation and radiosensitization effects of chitooligosaccharides on human lung cancer line Hep G2

Objective: To observe the anti-proliferation and radiosensitization effect of chitooligosaccharides(COS) on human lung cancer cell line Hep G2. Methods: CCK-8 assay was employed to obtain the inhibition ratio of COS on Hep G2 cells at 24 h after treatment. The clonogenic assay was used to analyze the cell viability of RAY group and RAY+COS group with X-ray of 0, 1, 2, 4, 6 and 8 Gy, and the cell survival curve was used to analyze the sensitization ratio of COS. Flow cytometry was employed to detect cell cycle and apoptosis rate in control group, RAY group and RAY+COS group after 24 h treatment. Results: COS inhibited the proliferation of Hep G2 cells, and the inhibition rate positively correlated with the concentration of COS. The cell viability decreased with increasing exposure dose in RAY group and RAY+COS group. The cell viabilities of RAY+COS group were lower than those of RAY group at the dose of 4, 6 and 8 Gy(P<0.05), and the sensitization ratio of COS was 1.19. There were higher percentage at G2/M phase and apoptosis rate, and lower percentage at S phase in RAY+COS group versus the other two groups(P<0.01). Conclusions: COS can inhibit the proliferation of Hep G2 cells, and enhance the radiosensitization of Hep G2 cells, induce apoptosis and G2/M phase arrest.

An improved self-adaptive membrane computing optimization algorithm and its applications in residue hydrogenating model parameter estimation

In order to solve the non-linear and high-dimensional optimization problems more effectively, an improved self-adaptive membrane computing(ISMC) optimization algorithm was proposed. The proposed ISMC algorithm applied improved self-adaptive crossover and mutation formulae that can provide appropriate crossover operator and mutation operator based on different functions of the objects and the number of iterations. The performance of ISMC was tested by the benchmark functions. The simulation results for residue hydrogenating kinetics model parameter estimation show that the proposed method is superior to the traditional intelligent algorithms in terms of convergence accuracy and stability in solving the complex parameter optimization problems.
