Int.rmit.ent.hypoxia or hypoxia t.erapy is exposing an individual t. oxygenat.on condit.ons t.at.are below at.ospheric levels in a planned or acut. t.meframe. Hypoxia t.erapy is a pot.nt.ally novel t.erapeut.c st.at.gy for a variet. of pat.ologies including: mit.chondrial disorders, exercise t.aining, and mild cognit.ve impairment.. Mit.chondrial dysfunct.on, hyperkinet.c movement., and cognit.ve impairment. are hallmarks of seizures and st.t.s epilept.cus (SE). A seizure can be considered uncont.olled elect.ical act.vit. in t.e brain and SE is a seizure last.ng more t.an 30 minut.s, or mult.ple seizures wit.out.regaining consciousness in bet.een. We examined t.e possibilit. of using t.e Pilocarpine model for seizure like act.vit. on brown planaria (Dugesia t.grine). Pilocarpine is a muscarinic acet.lcholine recept.r agonist.capable of creat.ng seizure relat.d brain damage. We ut.lized 5 mM dosages of pilocarpine and t.en measured open field behaviour for 3 minut.s. Mobilit. and aversive hyperkinet.c movement. were observed t.roughout.t.e measurement.phase. Aft.r exposure t. 5 mM pilocarpine, t.e planaria displayed behaviours consist.nt.wit. seizures (e.g. aversive hyperkinet.c movement. and decreased mobilit.). Addit.onally, we measured t.e effect. of an acut. hypoxic event.on Planaria behaviour. We used 25% carbonat.d wat.r t. creat. a hypoxic environment.for t.e planaria and t.en measured mobilit. and hyperkinet.c movement. for 3 minut.s. We not.d t.at.exposure t. t.e hypoxic en-vironment.produced no changes in behaviour. However, t.e aversive hyperkinet.c move-ment. produced wit. pilocarpine administ.at.on were complet.ly absent.when a brief (3 minut.s) hypoxic episode followed t.e pilocarpine exposure (p t.when t.e ordering of pilocarpine and hypoxia were count.rbal-anced. t.is ordering effect.was consist.nt.across 40 t.ials. A magnet.c field generat.ng device called t.e Chrysalis resonat.r has been shown t. influence t.e brain act.vit. of human part.cipant., t.e phot.n emissions from bact.ria, mammalian cell cult.res and wat.r. In t.is experiment.sunflower seeds (Heliant.us annus) were allowed t. begin germinat.on and t.en exposed t. eit.er t.e field generat.d by t.e Chrysalis resonat.r or a sham condit.on. t.eir growt. and phot.n emissions were t.ken over t.e next.5 days. It.was found t.at.t.e seeds showed less germinat.on 48 hours aft.r exposure and significant.y higher phot.n emissions when 3 seeds were measured t.get.er in a dish, but.not.if 2 seeds or 1 seed were measured. t.ere were no significant.differences in t.e phot.n measurement. from t.e wat.r t.e seeds were germinat.ng in. t.ese result. may indicat. t.at.t.e seeds became more sensit.ve t. t.e presence of neighbouring seeds. t.e phot.n emissions result. were also significant.y impact.d by ext.rnal weat.er condit.ons.

In t.e present.st.dy we applied const.nt.or t.me varying light.(~10,000 lux) st.muli t. one side of t.e skull and measured by phot.mult.plier t.bes t.e phot.n densit. emit.ed from t.e opposit. side of t.e skull along it. t.o horizont.l planes. Global quant.t.t.ve elect.oencephalographic act.vit. (QEEG) was recorded simult.neously. Reliable increases of ~2.5 × 10-11 W· m-2 during eit.er const.nt.or specific flash frequencies bet.een 3 and 7 Hz as well as enhanced QEEG power in t.e t.et. and low bet. range were measured. According t. source localizat.on by Low Resolut.on Elect.omagnet.c t.mography (LOREt.) t.e right.parahippocampal region was part.cularly enhanced. Calculat.ons employing known quant.t.t.ve values for permeabilit. and permit.ivit. of brain t.ssue were consist.nt.wit. t.is frequency band. t.e daily median ground surface flux densit.es per day from a cont.nuously operat.ng phot.mult.plier t.be unit.for four years in Sudbury, Ont.rio are present.d for December 2010 t. December 2014. Increases of about.2 t. 4 PMt.unit. (1 unit.= 5 × 10-11 W·m-2) for median daily measures reliably occurred about.t.o weeks before M ≥ 7.7 eart.quakes anywhere on t.e planet. t.e PMt.unit., unt.l June 2014, usually ret.rned t. baseline wit.in a few days aft.r t.e event.. t.ere has been a slow posit.ve drift.in flux power densit. since about.2012 and a conspicuous maint.ined increase aft.r May, 2014. t.e equivalent.energy per day if it.were represent.d isot.opically wit.in t.e volume occupied by t.e eart. is t.e same order of magnit.de as t.e average daily global t.t.l seismic energy release. Spect.al power densit.es revealed enhanced peaks (periodicit.es) bet.een 100 t. 150 days, 60 days, 30 days, and 25 days. Discriminable peaks in power were not.d around 18 days, 14 days, and 4 t. 6 days. t.ese result. suggest.t.at.cont.nuous measurement.of phot.nemissions wit.in hyper-dark condit.ons may reveal geophysical processes t.at.precede larger seismic event. and could reflect.t.e movement.of t.e eart.-solar syst.m around t.e galact.c cent.r.

Biophot.n emission is produced by all living syst.ms;t.is emission pat.ern has been shown t. be alt.red by t.e presence of an elect.omagnet.c field (EMF). Cult.res of B16-BL6 cells were exposed t. a weak EMF produced by a specially const.uct.d EM generat.r, called t.e “Resonat.r”, for one hour. t.is EM generat.r incorporat.s mult.ple geomet.ic rat.os in it. design, including t.e golden rat.o (phi), pi, root.2, root.3, and root.5. It.has been used previously t. purify wat.r of t.xins. t.ere was a significant.decrease in mean phot.n count. from B16-BL6 cells exposed at.a dist.nce of 1 m compared t. t.ose exposed at.0 m. Alt.rat.ons in t.e spect.al power densit. variabilit. were also observed in t.e 8 - 10 Hz range. t.e EM generat.r may have an impact.on t.e viabilit. of t.e exposed cell cult.res, but.only at.specific dist.nces.

Calculat.ons from t.e median mass of a t.bulin dimer, it. summed charges and t.e applied magnet.c field as well as t.e change in magnet.c moment.derived from t.e energy of t.e hydrogen line when applied t. our experiment.l fields predict.d a dynamic shift.(Δf) bet.een 0.03 and 0.21 Hz. Spect.al power densit.es (SPD) indicat.d marked enhancement. in phot.n numbers during periods of magnet.c field exposures wit.in t.e 7.6 t. 7.8 Hz increment. t.e t.t.l SPD unit. for t.e shift.were 10-18 t. 10-17 J per s. Five of t.e eight.pat.erns elicit.d a split.spect.um of power wit.in t.is range. Separat. fact.r analyses of t.e SPDs of t.e serial values t.at.composed t.e point. of t.e act.al field pat.erns indicat.d t.ose t.at.evoked t.e split.spect.um (Δf = 0.05 t. 0.13 Hz) displayed significant.y higher loadings on t.e same fact.r compared t. t.ose t.at.did not. Phot.n count. were measured every 15 ms for 75 s from microt.bule-enriched preparat.ons (and nuclei) from mouse melanoma cells during baseline and aft.r 2 min exposures t. 1 μt.magnet.c fields. t.e magnet.c fields were generat.d from a circular array of solenoids and present.d wit. accelerat.ng or decelerat.ng rot.t.on velocit.es. t.e range of phot.n radiant.flux densit. was in t.e order of 10-12 W·m-2. Microt.bules preparat.ons t.at.had been exposed for only 2 min t. a magnet.c field configurat.on corresponding t. t.e elect.ic field pat.ern t.at.induced long-t.rm pot.nt.at.on in neural t.ssue when applied as elect.ic current.displayed peaks of spect.al power densit.es wit.in 7 - 8 Hz, 9.5 Hz, 14 - 15 Hz, and 22 Hz bands. t.e major peak (9.4 Hz) bandwidt. was approximat.ly 0.1 Hz. While microt.bule preparat.ons exposed for 2 min t. a 7 Hz sine-wave or in t.e absence of a field emit.ed an overall similar level of spect.al power densit., t.e peaks in power densit. were not.present. t.eat.ent.wit. t.e Lt. pat.erned fields, compared t. t.e baseline or sine-wave fields primarily alt.red t.e frequency band in which t.e amplit.de of t.e phot.n field was expressed. t.ese result. suggest.t.at.t.e phot.n emissions from microt.bule preparat.ons have t.e capacit. t. respond t. specifically-pat.erned or geomet.ic shapes of magnet.c fields by alt.ring spect.al configurat.ons rat.er t.an t.e absolut. numbers of phot.ns.
