Zinc(Zn)malnutrition is a major public health *** biofortification of Zn in rice grain can alleviate global Zn ***,elucidating the genetic mechanisms regulating Zn deprivation response in rice is essential to identify elite genes useful for breeding high grain Zn rice ***,a meta-analysis of previous RnA-Seq studies involving Zn deficient conditions was conducted using the weighted gene co-expression network analysis(WGCnA)and other in silico prediction tools to identify modules(denoting cluster of genes with related expression pattern)of co-expressed genes,modular genes which are conserved differentially expressed genes(DeGs)across independent RnA-Seq studies,and the molecular pathways of the conserved modular *** identified 16 modules of co-expressed ***-eight and five modular DeGs were conserved in leaf and crown,and root tissues across two independent RnA-Seq *** enrichment analysis showed that 24 of the 28 conserved modular DeGs from leaf and crown tissues significantly up-regulated 2 Kyoto encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KeGG)pathways and 15 Gene Ontology(GO)terms,including the substrate-specific transmembrane transporter and the small molecule metabolic ***,the well-studied transcription factors(OsWOX11 and OsbHLH120),protein kinase(OsCDPK20 and OsMPK17),and mirnAs(OSA-Mir397A and OSA-Mir397B)were predicted to target some of the identified conserved modular *** of the 24 conserved and up-regulated modular DeGs,19 were yet to be experimentally validated as Zn deficiency responsive *** from this study provide a comprehensive insight on the molecular mechanisms of Zn deficiency response and may facilitate gene and pathway prioritization for improving Zn use efficiency and Zn biofortification in rice.

The n>Helicobacter pylori (Hp) infection is a public health problem, especially in developing countries. However, the responsibility of Hp for the occurrence of recurrent abdominal pain is still unclear. Objectives: To determine the prevalence of Helicobacter pylori (Hp) infection in children with recurrent abdominal pain (RAP) in Brazzaville and to establish the relationsn>hip between Hp infection and RAP. Patients and Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional case-control study, between March and September 2018, including 106 children with RAP and 218 children without RAP, aged 2 to 17 years old, received in health centres in Brazzaville. All the children were subjected to detection of Hp fecal antigen by qualitative immuno-chromatography in the faeces. Results:n style="font-family:Verdana;"> The prevalence of Hp infection among children with RAP in Brazzaville was 43.4%. The female sex was most represented in both populations, with a sex ratio of 0.84 in the infected population. Compared with controls, these were children with a mean age of 8.13 ± 4.57 years. Hippopotamus bites are rare in medical consultations, despite several studies exposing their aggressive character. A case of a hippopotamus bite on the shoulder of a fisherman has been reported. In addition to the osteoarticular aspect representing a therapeutic problem, the infectious aspect was marked by sepsis, with a death in less than 48 hours. Based on this observation, a protocol for the initial management of large animal bites was submitted.

特定环境下植物扩大领域入侵到其他区域时,其功能性状会发生改变。原产地环境已形成植物原有功能性状,当植物居住环境发生改变时,其功能性状亦会随之改变。本文旨在探讨居于常见条件与原产地气候条件的原状态、入侵状态、归化状态下不同疣果匙荠(Bunias orientalis)种群间的性状变异。自8个国家收集了12种疣果匙荠种子(每种状态各4种),将其种植于标准条件下的同质园中,并比较不同状态不同种类的物候、生长、繁殖等功能性状变化。研究结果表明,物候不因植物状态而异,但某些原产于常年低温地区的原状态植物并未开花。相比原状态植物,入侵状态植物的叶子更多,这表明了其在积累植被生物量上的活力。短角果的数量和质量,以及其他的生长性状在不同的状态间没有差异,但在不同种群间存在差异。一些功能性状的变异可能是由于原生地对当地条件的长期适应和遗传多样性所致,而其他环境因素在新环境下的差异可能导致了较高的性状变异。

nGD Analysis of Defected Ground and SIW-Matched Structure

A bandpass negative group delay(nGD)passive circuit based on defect ground structure(DGS)and substrate integrated waveguide(SIW)-matched is developed in the paper. The nGD DGS topology is originally built with notched cells associated with self-matched substrate waveguide elements. The DGS design method is introduced as a function of the geometrical notched and SIW via elements. Then, parametric analyses based on full wave 3-D electromagnetic S-parameter simulations were considered to investigate the influence of DGS physical size effects. The design method feasibility study is validated with fully distributed microstrip circuit prototype. Significant bandpass nGD function performances were validated with 3-D simulations and measurements with-1.69 ns negative group delay value around 2 GHz center frequency over 33.7 MHz nGD bandwidth. Insertion loss is 4.37 d B, and reflection loss reaches 41.5 d B.

Prevalence of Hepatitis C Virus Infection and Risk Factors among Pregnant Women in Pointe noire, Republic of Congo

Background: Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is a public health problem and is highly endemic in Sub-Saharan Africa. This study was carried out to determine the prevalence and potential risk factors of hepatitis C virus in pregnant women. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study involving pregnant women who attended at seven antenatal clinics in Pointe noire, from June to november 2018. Structured questionnaires were used to obtain participants data. Samples were screened for HCV infection by using 4th eLISA methods and data analysis was done by epi-info version 7.0 statistical software. Results: A total of 150 pregnant women were included, out of which 11 (7.3%) were positive for HCV. The high proportion of HCV was found in age group 25 - 34 years (45.4%), educated (81.1%), professional (36.4%) and 54.6% were in second trimester gestational stage. Moreover, 54.6% of HCV positive patients had scarification and 45.5% had a history of surgery. There was not a statistically significant association between demographics characteristics, risks factors and HCV seropositivity (p > 0.05). Conclusion: This study showed a high prevalence of HCV infection and confirmed that this infection is a public health problem in pregnant women in Pointe noire.

The Bafoussam area in western Cameroon is part of the central Cameroon Volcanic Ligne(CVL).This study presents the mineralogy,major and trace element compositions,Sr-Pb-Hf isotopes,and new K-Ar geochronological data about mafic and felsic volcanic *** rocks belong to two different series:A transitional series made of basalts,basaltic andesite,and trachytes and an alkaline mafic series with basalts,hawaiites,and *** age data show that the transitional series belongs to the oldest part of the CVL and was emplaced between 47 and 35 *** alkaline volcanism is younger,with ages ranging from10 to 4.5 *** evolution in both series is accomplished through a fractional crystallization process,with the removal of olivine and clinopyroxene,while plagioclase does not seem to be a major crystallizing *** the samples are enriched in incompatible trace elements,but the rocks from the alkaline series have more fractionated Ree patterns and high nb content compared to the transitional mafic *** lavas have lower initial^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr and higher^(176)Hf/^(177)Hf and Pb isotopic ratios than the transitional *** La/nb and high^(87)Sr/^(86)Sriratio are among chemical characteristics that show that some samples from the transitional series have interacted with a crustal component during their evolution in the *** cannot be used for discussing the mantle source of the volcanic rocks from this *** elements show that primary magmas for both series formed in a garnet-bearing mantle source,with higher partial melting degrees(3-5%)for the transitional magmas than for the alkaline magmas(ning trace elements and isotopic ratios,we show that the Bafoussam lavas formed from two different mantle *** magmas formed from a pyroxenite-bearing enriched mantle with low Pb isotopic *** mantle source is present in all the oldest lavas from the *** magmas formed from an HIMU-like mantle sourc

Helicobacter Pylori Infection in Brazzaville: Comparative Study of Two Identification Tests

Objective: To determine the place of two identification tests for Helicobacter pylori infection available in Congo. Materials and Methods: This was a comparative study carried out in two digestive endoscopy centers in Brazzaville from 1 January to 31 May 2018. Symptomatic patients referred for upper gastrointestinal endoscopy were included systematically. The frequency of infection was determined from two identification tests, namely the rapid urease test in gastric biopsies and the detection of antigen (Ag) for the germ in the stool. The criterion for judging the presence of the germ in each patient was the positivity of at least one of the two tests. The McneMAR X2 test (p ed for the comparison of averages. Results: During the study period, 137 consenting patients were included, including 62 men and 75 women. The overall incidence of Helicobacter pylori (Hp) infection was 79.6% (109/28). Of the 137 patients, 18 were urease positive only;6 were looking for Hp Ag in the stool, and 85 were in the two tests. The frequency of infection was 75.2% (103/137) with the rapid urease test and 66.4% (91/137) with the Hp Ag test in stool. The rapid urease test proved more reliable in the diagnosis of Helicobacter pylori infection than the stool antigen test.

Metabolic and performance responses of male runners wearing 3 types of footwear: nike Vaporfly 4%, Saucony endorphin racing flats, and their own shoes

Purpose We compared running economy(Re)and 3-km time-trial(TT)variables of runners wearing nike Vaporfly 4%(VP4),Saucony endorphin lightweight racing flats(FLAT),and their habitual running(OWn)*** eighteen male recreational runners(age=33.5±11.9 year(mean±SD),peak oxygen uptake(VO_(2peak))=55.8±4.4 mL/kg·min)attended 4 sessions approximately 7 days *** first session consisted of a VO_(2peak) test to inform subsequent Re speeds set at 60%,70%,and 80%of the speed eliciting *** subsequent sessions,treadmill Re and 3-km TTs were assessed in the 3 footwear conditions in a randomized,counterbalanced crossover *** Oxygen consumption(mL/kg·min)was less in VP4(from 4.3%to 4.4%,p≤0.002)and FLAT(from 2.7%to 3.4%,p≤0.092)*** across intensities,with a non-significant difference between VP4 and FLAT(1.0%-1.7%,p≥0.292).Findings related to energy cost(W/kg)and energetics cost of transport(J/kg·m)were ***43-km TT performance(11:07.6±0:56.6 mm:ss)was enhanced *** by 16.6 s(2.4%,p=0.005)and *** by 13.0 s(1.8%,p=0.032).The 3-km times between OWn and FLAT(0.5%,p=0.747)were *** runners(n=11,61%)ran their fastest TT in *** Overall,VP4 improved laboratory-based Re measures in male recreational runners at relative speeds compared to OWn,but the Re improvements in VP4 were not significant *** runners exhibited better treadmill TT performances in VP4(61%)***(22%)and OWn(17%).The variability in Re(-10.3%to 13.3%)and TT(-4.7%to 9.3%)improvements suggests that responses to different types of shoes are individualized and warrant further investigation.

In most developing countries, particularly in the countries of sub-Saharan Africa, corn cobs are considered as waste polluting the environment during the harvest period of this cereal. In order to valorize this agricultural waste, high-performance, inexpensive and low-energy consumption magnetic bioadsorbents were prepared from corn cobs. The chemically activated raw corn cob was magnetized by coating the surface with magnetite nanoparticles. The prepared biosorbents were characterized by FT-ir, XRD, Fe-SeM associated with eDX, HR-TeM, TG analysis, BeT surface area analysis and XPS. The maximum specific surface area of 35.22 m2/g was reached. An attempt to use of these magnetic biosorbents for the removal of heavy metal like Cr(VI) from aqueous solution was envisaged.
