Background:Athletes have been shown to exhibit better balance compared to non-athletes(nOn).However,few studies have investigated how the surface on which athletes train affects the strategies adopted to maintain *** distinct athlete groups who experience different types of sport-specific balance training are stable surface athletes(SSA) such as basketball players and those who train on unstable surfaces(USA) such as *** purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of training surface on dynamic balance in athletes compared to ***:eight nOn,eight SSA,and eight USA performed five 20-s trials in each of five experimental conditions including a static condition and four dynamic conditions in which the support surface translated in the anteroposterior(AP) or mediolateral(ML) planes using positive or negative feedback *** entropy(Ap en) and root mean square distance(RMS) of the center of pressure(Co P) were calculated for the AP and ML *** 3 × 5(group × condition) repeated measures AnOVAs were used to determine significant effects of group and condition on variables of ***:USA exhibited smaller Ap en values than SSA in the AP signals while no significant differences were observed in the ML Co P ***,the negative feedback conditions were associated with significantly greater RMS values than the positive feedback ***:USA exhibit unique postural strategies compared to *** unique strategies seemingly exhibit a direction-specific attribute and may be associated with divergent motor control strategies.

Unpailt roads are generally subject to erosion, when they need to be bitumen, civil engineers need to know the geotechnical capabilities of the soil layers to be used as support, among these capabilities, for example, soil characteristics to withstand erosion. CBR has often been used to classify these soils according to their compaction. In this article, we propose a correlation between CBR and eroded soil mass through a simulator. Indeed, in this article we show that using a simulator, soils can be classified according to their ability to withstand water erosion, whether internal or external. Indeed it is shown that the mass of eroded soil is related to the compaction capacity of the soil just as the CBR also has. We study the effects and influence of soil compaction on the ability of an unpaved road to resist erosion caused by falling raindrops. To do this, lateritic soil is submitted to different compaction pressures. The compacted soil is then submitted to CBR test and rain fall through a mini rain simulator. Correlations between eroded soil masse and compaction pressure as well as CBR are derived. The study shows that the compaction reduces the erodibility and increases the bearing capacity of soil. The formula obtained is significant because we have a new way of evaluating soils in the laboratory.

Surface Water Sediments Characterization Using Metallic Trace elements (MTes): Case of the Artisanal Gold Mining Sites of Kokumbo (Côte d’Ivoire)

The main purpose of this study is to characterize the surface sediments of the Kokumbo artisanal gold mining sites in Metallic trace elements (MTes). A total of 12 samples of surface water sediments were collected for this study. The samples were analyzed using the Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS). The mean concentrations of Mn (611.37 mg/kg) and Zn (955.86 mg/kg) in the sediments were very high compared to the standard in unpolluted sediments. The enrichment factor (eF) shows that there is an enrichment of Mn at some sites (eF (Mn) > 2). The presence of As, Mn, and Zn is also highlighted by the geo-accumulation index (I-geo) which shows slight pollution in Mn (0 eo (Mn) n some sites. Moderate pollution for As (1 eo (As) etermined at the treatment site and high pollution in Zn at some sites in the area (I-geo (Zn) > 3). This study shows that the presence of Zn in the sediments is linked to artisanal gold mining activities. Indeed, Zn is much used for gold recovery. The statistical analysis (PCA) shows, on the one hand, natural mineralization of the sediments and addition of metals linked to anthropic activities corresponding to the erosion of mining discharges. The surface sediments of the Kokumbo mining sites show pollution in As, Mn, and Zn.

【研究目的】义敦岛弧是三江特提斯复合造山带的重要组成部分。区域现有的研究较多集中在弧花岗质侵入岩及其成矿作用上,而对区内流纹岩的研究则相对匮乏。【研究方法】本文在详细野外填图的基础上,对图姆沟组流纹岩进行岩石学、地球化学和同位素年代学研究。【研究结果】流纹岩锆石U-Pb成岩年龄216.5 Ma,为晚三叠世。岩石SiO_(2)含量为73.24%~74.72%,全碱含量为5.26%~6.27%,为钙碱性系列,富集大离子亲石元素Rb、Th、U、K和轻稀土元素,亏损高场强元素nb、Ta、Ti、P和重稀土元素,具典型的岛弧火山岩特征。【结论】图姆沟组流纹岩是印支期甘孜—理塘洋壳向西俯冲环境下地壳部分熔融的产物。

Optimization Conditions of the Preparation of Activated Carbon Based egusi (<i>Cucumeropsis mannii</i>naudin) Seed Shells for nitrate Ions Removal from Wastewater

egusi seed shells (eSS) were used as precursor for the preparation of two activated carbons (ACs) following H3PO4 and ZnCl2 activation. The effect of factors controlling the preparation of ACs such as chemical activating agent concentration (2 - 10 M), activation temperature (400°C - 700°C) and residence time (30 - 120 min) were optimized using the Box-Behnken Design (BBD). The optimized activated carbons based H3PO4 (ACP) and ZnCl2 (ACZ) were characterized by n2 adsorption, elemental analysis, atomic force microscopy (AFM), Boehm titration and Fourier transformed infrared (FTir) techniques. The specific surface area was found to be 1053.91 and 1009.89 m2·g-1 for ACP and ACZ respectively. The adsorbents had similar surface functionalities and were both microporous. The effect of various parameters such as initial pH, concentration, and contact time on the adsorption of nitrate ions on ACP and ACZ in aqueous solution was studied. ACZ demonstrated better adsorption capacity (8.26 mg·g-1) compared to ACP (5.65 mg·g-1) at the same equilibrium time of 20 min. The adsorption process was governed by a “physical interactions” phenomenon for both adsorbents.

The Bispectral Index Interest during General Anesthesia at the University Hospital of Parakou (Republic of Benin) in 2019

Background: The bispectral index (BIS) derived from the electroencephalogram is an additional means of monitoring the depth of narcosis. Objective: To compare the monitoring of the depth of narcosis by the BIS associated with clinical data versus standard monitoring at the University Hospital of Parakou in Benin in 2019. Methods: This was an observational study for descriptive and analytical purposes with prospective data collection, carried out in general surgery and intensive care unit for 4 months. The inclusion criteria were: an age ≥ 18 years, an ASA score ≤ 3, surgery under general anesthesia and informed consent of the patient. Two groups were formed: non-BIS group monitored by clinical parameters (PA, FC, FR, EtCO2, and SpO2) only and BIS group monitored by bispectral index in addition to clinical parameters. Patients were seen 48 hours after the procedure. Results: n style="font-family:Verdana;">36 patients were collected. The mean age was 40.63 ± 16.77 years with a sex ratio of 3. ASA 1 patients represented 86.11% of the sample and ASA2 patients 13.89%. The average doses of Propofol were not significantly reduced in the BIS group (p = 0.555). early Initiation of Breastfeeding and Its Association in Rural Areas of Burkina Faso

Background: The global recommendations of the WHO and UnICeF are that all infants should start breastfeeding within one hour of birth. It is low-cost and has substantial potential to reduce neonatal and early infant morbidity. The objectives of the study were to investigate rate of early initiation of breastfeeding and to identify potential associated factors. Methods: A community based cross-sectional study design was conducted in three districts of Burkina Faso. Cluster sampling was used. The data were collected by using a structured and pretested interview questionnaire. The associations between early initiation and independent variables were tested using the Chi-square test. Crude Odds ratios (COR) with 95% confidence intervals were used. Results: Percentage of children who were put to the breast within one hour of birth was fair (41%). Having more than 2 antenatal care visits was found to be 1.43 times more likely to initiate breastfeeding early, COR: 1.4, 95% CI: [1.14 - 1.81], p Conclusions: This study demonstrates that delayed initiation of breastfeeding continues to be a problem in rural areas of Burkina Faso, as only four in 10 newborn infants received breast milk within the first hour of birth. The results show that receiving advices on early initiation of breastfeeding, child growth and feeding and skilled delivery were found to be more likely to initiate breastfeeding within one hour of delivery. Therefore improving the skills of health providers and, mother individual counselling and strengthening community-based support, are critical to improve timely initiation of breastfeeding.

In this paper we aim to analyse temporal variation of CD4 cell counts for HIV-infected individuals under antiretroviral therapy by using statistical methods. This is achieved by resorting to recursive binary regression tree approach [1]?[2]. This approach has made it possible to highlight the existence of several segments of the population of interest described by the interactions between the predictive covariates of the response to the treatment regimen.

Depth Variation of the Lithosphere beneath Garoua Rift Region (Cameroon Volcanic Line) Studied from Teleseismic P-Waves

Teleseismic events have been selected from a database of earthquakes with three components which were recorded between February 2005 and January 2007 by five seismic stations across the Garoua rift region which constitutes a part of the Cameroon Volcanic Line (CVL). The iterative time deconvolution performed by [1] applied on these teleseismic events, permitted us to obtain P-receiver functions. The latter were subsequently inverted in order to obtain S-wave velocity models with respect to depth which were then associated to the synthetic receiver functions. This made it possible to explain the behavior of the wave and the medium through which they traveled. The main results obtained indicate that: (1) The lithosphere appears to be thin in its crustal part with a mean Moho depth of 28 km and S wave velocity of 3.7 km/s. (2) In its mantle part, the lithosphere is thick in nature having a thickness that varies between 42 km and 67.2 km. The greatest depth is noticed towards the center located around Garoua while the least depth corresponds to a location around Yagoua in the north. The Low velocity zone which makes it possible to determine the depth of the lithosphere was seen to have a thickness which varies between 42 km and 118.8 km. (3) The synthetic receiver functions associated to shear velocity models reveal that, on one hand the wave has really undergone a conversion and multiple conversions such that the existing Ps phase and subsequent reverberations PpPs and PpSs have mean times of 3.7 s, 11 s and 17.6 s respectively. On the other hand, they reveal an attenuation shown by the decrease in the amplitude of the aforementioned phases along a South-north direction in the Garoua rift.
