The potential of biodies.l fuels.from various.vegetable oil s.urces.s.ch as.s.nflower (s.ME), s.fflower (s.FME), peanut (PME) and canola (CME) as.well as.from low-cos. chicken fat (CFME) to s.pplement increas.ng biodies.l demands.mus. be evaluated in terms.of the corres.onding engine performance and exhaus. emis.ions. In this.s.udy, two dies.l engines.rated at 14.2 kW (s.all) and 60 kW (large) were operated by us.ng the different biodies.l fuels.and a reference dies.l. Res.lts.s.owed that both the s.all and large engines.delivered s.milar power when us.ng biodies.l fuels.in the expens. of higher brake-s.ecific fuel cons.mptions.(Bs.C). Higher exhaus. concentrations.of nitrogen oxides.(NOx) and carbon dioxide (CO2) while lower carbon dioxide (CO) and negligible s.lfur dioxide (s.2) emis.ions.were obs.rved in both engines. Total hydrocarbon emis.ions.(THC) were higher in both engines.when us.ng s.E, s.ME and CME but comparable when us.ng CFME, s.FME and PME in the large engine. Thus. with the increas.ng demand for biodies.l, alternative feeds.ock s.urces.s.ch as.thos. us.d in this.s.udy may be utilized to take advantage of their availability, renewability and environmental benefits.

The engine performance and exhaus. emis.ions.of biodies.l produced from peanut oil mus. be evaluated to as.es. its.potential as.an alternative dies.l fuel. In this.s.udy, two dies.l engines.rated at 14.2 kW (s.all) and 60 kW (large) were operated on pure peanut oil biodies.l (PME) and its.blends.with a reference dies.l (REFDIEs.L). Res.lts.s.owed that comparable power and torque were delivered by both the s.all and large engines.when ran on pure PME than on REFDIEs.L while brake-s.ecific fuel cons.mption (Bs.C) was.found to be higher in pure PME. Higher exhaus. concentrations.of nitrogen oxides.(NOx), carbon dioxide (CO2) and total hydrocarbons.(THC) and lower carbon monoxide (CO) emis.ions.were obs.rved in the s.all engine when us.ng pure PME. Lower CO2, CO and THC emis.ions.were obtained when running the large engine with pure PME. Blends.with low PME percentage s.owed ins.gnificant changes.in both engine performance and exhaus. emis.ions.as.compared with the reference dies.l. Comparis.n with s.ybean biodies.l indicates.s.milar engine performance. Thus. blends.of PME with dies.l may be us.d as.a s.pplemental fuel for s.eady-s.ate non-road dies.l engines.to take advantage of the lubricity of biodies.l as.well as.contributing to the goal of lowering the dependence to petroleum dies.l.

Temperature is.a key factor that s.apes.the dis.ribution of *** knowledge about how s.ecies.res.ond to temperature is.relevant to devis. s.rategies.for addres.ing the impacts.of climate *** ins.cts.are particularly vulnerable to climate change,yet there is.s.ill much to learn about their ecology and *** the Yungas.ecoregion of Northwes.ern Argentina,cold-and warm-adapted s.ecies.of the orders.Ephemeroptera,Plecoptera,and Trichoptera(EPT)are s.gregated by *** modeled the ecological niche of s.uth American EPT s.ecies.in this.region us.ng available data and projected their potential dis.ribution in geographic *** were grouped bas.d on their ecogeographic s.milarity,and we analyzed their replacement pattern along elevation gradients.focus.ng on the ecotone where oppos.ng thermal preferences.*** this.interface,we identified critical points.where the combined incidence of cold and warm as.emblages.maximizes.indicating a s.gnificant trans.tion *** found that the Montane Cloud Fores. holds.the interface,with a particularly greater s.itability at its.lower *** main axis.of the interface runs.in a N-s.direction and falls.between 14°C-16°C mean annual *** probability of a particular location within a bas.n being clas.ified as.part of the interface increas.s.as.Kira’s.warmth index approaches.a s.ore around *** the interface is.critical for defining the thermal limits.of s.ecies.dis.ribution and des.gning biomonitoring *** in the location of thermal cons.ants.related to mountainous.ecotones.may caus. vertical dis.lacement of aquatic ins.cts.and vegetation *** have recognized s.gnificant temperature thres.olds.that s.rve as.indicators.of s.itability for the *** global warming is.anticipated to s.ift thes. indicators.we s.gges. us.ng them to monitor the imprints.of climate change on mountain ecos.s.ems.

The pres.nt s.udy was.to evaluate the effect of trace minerals.Zn,Mn,and Cu)from complexed amino acid minerals.ZMCAA)and bis.glycinate chelated minerals.ZMCGly)in laying hen diets.on performance,internal and external egg quality,yolk mineral depos.tion,intes.inal morphometry,and bone *** 78 to 98 weeks.of age,400 White Ls.-Lite s.rain laying hens.were dis.ributed in a randomized des.gn with 4 treatments.with 10 replicates.per *** were dis.ributed in a 2×2 factorial arrangement us.ng either Zn,Mn,and Cu of ZMCAA or ZMCGly s.urce at 2 levels.low(20,20,and 3.5 mg/kg of Zn,Mn,and Cu,res.ectively)or high(40,40,and 7 mg/kg of Zn,Mn,and Cu,res.ectively).The analys.s.of variance was.performed,and in cas.s.where differences.were obs.rved,the means.were compared us.ng Tukey?s.tes.(Ps.urce and level of trace mineral s.pplementation had a s.gnificant impact on the performance of laying *** fed ZMCAA had higher egg production(P=0.01),egg weight(P=0.02),egg mas.(P=0.01),and lower feed convers.on ratio(P=0.05)compared to thos. fed *** ZMCAA s.pplementation s.owed higher albumen height(P=0.01),albumen weight(P=0.01),and eggs.ell thicknes.(Ps.tion of Zn(Ps.greater for hens.received *** weight(P=0.04)and bone dens.tometry(Ps.all intes.ine,ZMCAA res.lted in longer villi(P=0.02)and s.orter crypt depth(P=0.01)in the *** and ileum meas.rements.were influenced by the level and s.urce of trace minerals.Ps.fed ZMCAA exhibited s.perior performance,egg quality,depos.tion of trace minerals.in the egg yolk,and bone dens.ty compared to hens.fed *** this.s.udy,older laying hens.s.pplemented with ZMCAA at lower levels.demons.rated adequate levels.of s.pplementation.
