Hepatitis A is a common viral illness *** usually results in an acute,self-limiting disease and only rarely leads to fulminant hepatic failure or any other *** the period of conflict in Syria,and due to the damages to water infrastructure and poor sanitation,a dramatic increase in hepatitis A virus infection has been *** we report a rare case of a 14-year-old male whose hepatitis A was complicated with hepatorenal syndrome and subacute liver *** war condition in Syria impeded transportation of the patient to a nearby country for liver transplantation,contributing to his unfortunate death.

The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic is a threat worldwide for individuals of all ages,including *** manifestations could be the initial presenting manifestation in many patients,especially in *** symptoms are more common in patients with severe disease than in patients with non-severe *** 48.1%of patients had a stool sample that was positive for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)viral *** typically form 1%-8%of all laboratoryconfirmed cases of *** manifestations of COVID-19 in children are not rare,with a prevalence between 0 and 88%,and a wide variety of presentations,including diarrhoea,vomiting,and abdominal pain,can develop before,with or after the development of respiratory *** manifestations such as appendicitis or liver injury could also appear,especially in the presence of multisystem inflammatory *** this review,we discussed the epidemiology of COVID-19 gastrointestinal diseases in children as well as their implications on the diagnosis,misdiagnosis,prognosis,and faecal-oral transmission route of COVID-19 and the impact of gastrointestinal diseases on the gut microbiome,child nutrition,and disease management.

Gut microbiota has a significant role in gut development,maturation,and immune system *** exerts considerable effects on the child's physical and mental *** gut microbiota composition and structure depend on many host and microbial *** host factors include age,genetic pool,general health,dietary factors,medication use,the intestine's pH,peristalsis,and transit time,mucus secretions,mucous immunoglobulin,and tissue oxidation-reduction *** microbial factors include nutrient availability,bacterial cooperation or antagonism,and bacterial *** part of the gut has its microbiota due to its specific *** gut microbiota interacts with different body parts,affecting the pathogenesis of many local and systemic *** is a common finding in many childhood disorders such as autism,failure to thrive,nutritional disorders,coeliac disease,Necrotizing Enterocolitis,helicobacter pylori infection,functional gastrointestinal disorders of childhood,inflammatory bowel diseases,and many other gastrointestinal *** is also observed in allergic conditions like atopic dermatitis,allergic rhinitis,and *** can also impact the development and the progression of immune disorders and cardiac disorders,including heart *** supplements could provide some help in managing these ***,we are still in need of more *** this narrative review,we will shed some light on the role of microbiota in the development and management of common childhood disorders.

Novel 3-substituted pyridothienopyrimidine derivatives have been synthesized via the reaction of 2-{7,9-dimethyl-4-oxopyrido[3′,2′：4,5]thieno[3,2-d]pyrimidin-3（4H）-yl}acetohydrazide（5） with a variety of activereagents and chemicals. Structures of the newly synthesized compounds were established based on spectral *** resulting pyridothienopyrimidine derivatives were evaluated for their possible antimicrobial activity and some ofthem represent a new class of potentially antimicrobial compounds, especially compounds 9 and 18 which displayedthe highest activity against Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative bacteria, and Fungi in MIC range of 0.12--1.95 μg/mL.

Robotics explorations to enhance information technology literacy in rural schools

This paper describes a project in Biomechanics and Robotics Explorations for Information Technology Literacy and Skills in Rular Schools at the Department of Engineering at East Carolina University funded by the National Science Foundation. The project is designed to show how mathematics and science teachers can combine information technology explorations with mathematical problem solving to develop context rich lessons that attract rural students to careers in science, engineering and technology. Over the summer of 2007, 30 teachers and 60 students participated in a camp designed to provide both theoretical and hands-on experiences in various STEM facets. The teachers spent two weeks at East Carolina University attending workshops in various areas including robotics, biomechanics, solid modeling, and other IT literacy areas in preparation for integration into Math and Science curricula in their schools. Selected students from the same schools spent three weeks going through similar workshops. This paper will focus on the robotics component of the project and its implementation at the Department of Engineering at East Carolina University. The paper presents information about robotics summer academies for teachers and for students, as well as our experiences from the academies. In addition, information from surveys that were administered in both teacher and student workshops are presented.
