Hepato-pancreato-biliary(HPB) tumors are common in China. However, these tumors are often diagnosed at intermediate/advanced stages because of the lack of a systemic surveillance program in China. This situation creates many technical challenges for surgeons and increases the incidence of postoperative complications. Therefore, Dr. Xiao-Ping Chen has made many important technical improvements, such as Chen's hepatic portal occlusion method, the anterior approach for liver resection of large HCC tumors, the modified technique of Belghiti's liver-hanging maneuver, inserting biliary-enteric anastomosis technique, and invaginated pancreaticojujunostomy with transpancreatic U-sutures. These techniques are simple, practical, and easy to learn. Owing to these advantages, complicated surgical procedures can be simplified, and the curative effects are greatly improved. These improved techniques have been widely applied in China and will benefit many additional patients. In this review, we introduce our experience of surgically treating intermediate/advanced hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC), hilar cholangiocarcinoma(HC), and pancreatic carcinoma, mainly focusing on technical innovations established by Dr. Chen in HPB surgery.

Facile synthesis of ultrathin metal-organic framework nanosheets for Lewis acid catalysis

Ultrathin metalorganic framework (MOF) nanosheets are attracting great interest in catalysis due to their unique and intriguing two-dime nsional (2D) features. Although many progresses have been achieved, it is still highly desirable to develop novel strategies for controllable synthesis of the well-defined ultrathin MOF nanosheets. Herein we report a polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP)-assisted route to synthesize the ultrathin Ni-MOF nanosheets characteristic of 1.5 nm in thickness, in which PVP is reacted with 2-aminoterephthalic acid (H2BDC-NH2) via formation of C=N bon d, followed by coord inatio n with Ni2+ io ns to form the ultrathi n MOF n anosheets. Impressively, when used in the Kno eve nagel condensation reactions of propane dinitrile with different aldehydes, ultrathin Ni-MOF nanosheets display the significantly enhanced catalytic activity and good stability in respect with the bulk Ni-MOF, mainly owing to the exposed active sites as well as facile mass transfer and diffusion of substrates and products.

Liver cancer is the fifth most common malignancy and the second leading cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide.Surgical resection is widely accepted as the only potentially curative therapy for hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC),the most predominant type of primary liver cancer worldwide.Despite this,the prognosis and 5-year disease-free survival rate of HCC remain poor.

Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)is a highly contagious disease and a serious threat to human health.COVID-19 can cause multiple organ dysfunction,such as respiratory and circulatory failure,liver and kidney injury,disseminated intravascular coagulation,and thromboembolism,and even death.The World Health Organization reports that the mortality rate of severe-type COVID-19 is over 50%.Currently,the number of severe cases worldwide has increased rapidly,but the experience in the treatment of infected patients is still limited.Given the lack of specific antiviral drugs,multi-organ function support treatment is important for patients with COVID-19.To improve the cure rate and reduce the mortality of patients with severe-and critical-type COVID-19,this paper summarizes the experience of organ function support in patients with severe-and criticaltype COVID-19 in Optical Valley Branch of Tongji Hospital,Wuhan,China.This paper systematically summarizes the procedures of functional support therapies for multiple organs and systems,including respiratory,circulatory,renal,hepatic,and hematological systems,among patients with severe-and critical-type COVID-19.This paper provides a clinical reference and a new strategy for the optimal treatment of COVID-19 worldwide.

Hepatectomy is currently routinely performed in most hospitals in China. China owns the largest population of liver diseases and the biggest number of liver resection cases. A nationwide multicenter retrospective investigation involving 112 hospitals was performed, and focused on liver resection for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC). 42,573 cases of hepatectomy were enrolled, and 18,275 valid cases of liver resection for HCC patients were selected for statistical analysis. The epidemiology of HCC, distribution of hepatectomy, postoperative complications and prognosis were finally analyzed. In the 18,275 HCC patients,81% had hepatitis B virus infection and 10% had hepatitis C virus infection. 38% of the HCC patients had normal Alphafetoprotein(AFP) level, and other 35% had an AFP level lower than 400 ng mL^(-1). In the study period, 97% of the hepatectomy for HCC were treated with open surgery, and 23.81% had vascular exclusion techniques. The operation time was(191.7±105.6) min,the blood loss was(546.0±562.8) m L, and blood transfusion was(543.0±1,035.2) m L. The median survival for HCC patients was 631 days, with 1-, 3-, and 5-year overall survival of 73.2%, 28.8% and 19.6%, respectively. Liver cirrhosis, multiple nodules,tumor thrombosis and high AFP level were risk factors that affect postoperative survival.

肝内胆管癌(intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma,ICC)是一种肝胆管恶性肿瘤,病因尚未明确。ICC侵袭性强且早期常无明显症状,病人就诊时分期往往较晚,因此仅有少部分早期病人接受根治性肝切除。微创外科近年来逐渐发展。就ICC的微创外科治疗而言,其包括微创肝切除(腹腔镜下肝切除、机器人辅助下腹腔镜肝切除)以及微波消融、介入治疗等手段。研究发现腹腔镜下肝切除相比于传统开腹肝切除,前者的ICC病人术后住院时间缩短,术中出血情况更为轻微,且两组淋巴结切除率及清扫数量未见明显差异;但亦有研究对ICC治疗中淋巴结清扫的必要性及其在腹腔镜下的可行性存疑。机器人辅助腹腔镜下肝切除可以使肝部分切除的操作更充分,利于胆道重建,提供的三维立体术野颇有价值。微创肝切除组的淋巴结清扫数量与开腹组相当、手术时间和术后住院时间均明显缩短于开腹组。此文针对ICC的微创肝切除抉择获益、切除范围以及淋巴结清扫等方面的争议展开叙述。

A series of Fe-Y zeolite catalysts with different Fe loading were prepared by ferrocene sublimation under solvent and water-free conditions.The dispersion,structure and morphology of the iron species on the Fe-Y catalysts were characterized by XRD,TEM and UV-Vis.The catalytic activities of Fe-Y samples were measured in selective catalytic reduction of NO with ammonia(NH3-SCR).The results showed that the iron species on the HY zeolite support were mainly made up of isolated Fe3+ions,Fex Oy oligomers and a little amount of<3 nm spherical Fe2O3particles.Isolated Fe3+ions are predominating among all the Fe-Y catalysts.The sum of isolated Fe3+ions and Fex Oy oligomers took up more than 90%percent of total iron species on the Fe-Y till 10.0 wt%loading of Fe.

With the development of knowledge graphs, a series of applications based on knowledge graphs have emerged. The incompleteness of knowledge graphs makes the effect of the downstream applications and affected by the quality of the knowledge graphs. To improve the quality of knowledge graphs, translation-based graph embeddings, such as TransE, learn structural information by rep-resenting triples as low-dimensional dense vectors. However, is difficult to generalize to unseen entities, Entities that are not observed during training but appear during testing. The other methods use the powerful representational ability of pre-trained language models to learn entity descriptions and contextual representation of triples. Although they are robust to incompleteness, but they need to calculate the score of all candidate entities for each triple during inference. We consider combining two models to enhance the robustness of unseen entities by semantic information, and prevent combined explosion by reducing inference overhead through structured information. We use a pre-training language model to code triples and learn the semantic information within them, and then use a hyperbolic space-based distance model to learn structural information and integrate the two types of information together. We evaluate our model by performing link prediction experi-ments in standard datasets. In experiments, our model achieves better performances than state-of-the-art methods on two standard datasets.
