A novel electrochemical immunosensor with amplification effect based on the enzyme inhibition of silver deposition was proposed. In this method, the capture antibody was first immobilized onto a gold electrode via a self-assembled layer. After a sandwich immunoreaction, HRP labeled antibody was bound to the gold electrode. The HRP on the electrode inhibited silver deposition when the electrode was incubated in hydroquinone-H2O2 solution and silver ion solution. The linear sweep voltammetry was chosen to detect the deposited silver and the result showed that the peak current was linearly proportional to the content of IgG in the range of 50 to 2500 ng/mL with a detection limit of 35 ng/mL.

A series of basic nitrogen doped carbon hollow spheres(p-N-C) catalysts derived from waste tires were prepared by a green, facile and environmental “leavening” strategy for the catalytic oxidation of pentanethiol. Compared to pristine carbon, the p-N-C has a higher surface curvature conducive to the enrichment of substrates, leading to an excellent catalytic performance. This increased surface curvature of p-N-C was fabricated on the synergistic effect of two foaming agents((NH4)2 C2 O4 and NaHCO3), and the released gas also endows the spherical shell of p-N-C with a hierarchical porous structure, promoting the accessibility of active sites with pentanethiol. Pyridine-like and pyrrolic-like nitrogen atoms were investigated as reactive sites on the p-N-C to accelerate the electron transfer from sulfur to active surface oxygen and enhance the adsorption/oxidation process. As a result, the optimal p-N-C catalyst exhibits superior adsorption and oxidation performance(99.9%) of pentanethiol, outperforming the “unleavened”catalyst(20.8%). This work offers a new avenue for the fabrication of highly efficient materials for the desulfurization of fuel.

AIM： To investigate the effects of Danshao Huaxian （DSHX） capsules, a preparation of traditional Chinese medicine, on the expression of matrix metalloproteinase-1 （MMP-1）, and tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1 （TIMP-1） in the fibrous livers of rats. METHODS： Eighty male Wistar rats were randomly divided into normal control group （group A）, CCl4-induced hepatic fibrosis group （group B）, non-DSHX-treated group （group C）, low dose-treated group （group D）, and high dose-treated group （group E）. Fibrous liver models in rats were induced by subcutaneous injection of CCI4, oral administration of alcohol and high-lipid/low-protein diet for 8 wk. After the models were established, the rats in groups D and E were orally given a low dose （0.5 g/kg） and a high dose （1.0 g/kg） of DSHX daily for 8 wk, respectively. Then, the liver indexes, serum hyaluronic acid （HA） and alanine aminotransferase （ALT） were examined. The degree of hepatic fibrosis was evaluated by optical microscopy. Hydroxyproline （Hyp） in the urine was determined, and the expression of MMP-1 and TIMP-1 was detected by immunohistochemical techniques. RESULTS： In groups D and E, the liver indexes, levels of serum HA and ALT reduced and development of hepatic fibrosis weakened significantly. The urinary Hyp and expression of MMP-1 in the liver tissues elevated, but the expression of TIMP-1 decreased obviously, as compared to groups B and ***： DSHX enhances the expression of MMP-1 but decreases that of TIMP-1 in liver tissues of CCI4-induced hepatic fibrotic rats, which may result in its elevated activity that contributes to fighting against hepatic fibrosis.

Depression and cardiovascular disease （CVD） are both highly prevalent disorders, and some evidence shows that there is a ＇vicious cy- cle＇ linking major depression and CVD. There is also growing evidence that immune abnormalities underpin the common pathophysiology of both CVD and major depression. The abnormalities include the following： abnormal levels of inflammatory markers, such as interleukin-6 （IL-6）, interleukin-1β （IL-1β）, minor necrosis factor α （TNF-α） and interleukin-12 （IL-12）; increased acute phase proteins, such as C-reactive protein, fibrinogen and haptoglobin; and abnormal complement factors. The findings show that major depression and CVD patients have greater immune abnormalities, which may increase depressive symptoms and cardiovascular pathological changes, and that there may be a bidirectional relationship, therefore more prospective studies are needed to draw conclusions.

This small modern river system is located on a retativety flat （about 1°-2°）, unconsotidated sandy pediment surface in the Uinta Basin of Utah, USA, and it is with a scare of about 30 m tong and 0.4-0.8 m wide, simitar as a natural flume experiment modet. The smart stream is informatty divided into upstream, midstream and downstream. The anatysis shows that flood discharge influences channet sinuosity and morphology to produce an initiat meandering pattern which is tater changed to a braided and then a straisht pattern in the downflow direction. The upstream segment has a hish sinuous geometry dominated by both erosion （cutbanks） and deposition （point bars）. In the resistance of sporadic vegetation rooting in banks, the upstream flood deviates its original direction, which resutts in the powerful flood intensively eroding the cutbank and accreting clastics to build point bars, and thus producing a high sinuous channet. The midstream is dominated by deposits （many smart bars） with a moderate to tow sinuosity. Due to the bad drainage of the high sinuous channel in the upstream, the strong flood can cut off the point bar comptetely or even surmount the tevee in the fast meandering upstream, which widens the channel suddenty with a quick decreasing current power. Then, the ctastics from the upstream are untoaded in the midstream and form many smart bars. Untoaded sediments protect the bank, and the tow-power current brings a moderate erosion to the bank, which forms a moderate to tow sinuous channel in the midstream. The downstream shows multistage erosionat terraces in its retativety straight channets. After the midstream water drops its toad, it becomes ＂dear＂ and reaches downstream, the tower current power is hetptess to reform channet 8eometry. Thus, the downstream channel sesment keeps a tower sinuous geometry, evenstraight partially. Small amounts of fine clastics are deposited, and simultaneously multistage terraces are formed due to regressive flood erosion.

Several indole derivatives with different ＇3-＇ substituents have been investigated by terahertz （THz） time-domain spectroscopy. The low-frequency absorption spectra and refractive indices were obtained in the range of 0.2 THz to 2.5 THz （7 cm-1 to 83 cm-1）. These derivatives with different substituents present distinct features, which suggests that THz spectroscopy is sensitive to different structures and components of these chemicals. The density functional theory was employed to calculate the low-frequency vibrational properties of indole-3-carboxylic acid and indole-3-propionic acid based on their crystal structures, and the intermolecular interactions were involved. Meanwhile, the temperature dependence of the spectra agreed with the calculated results. The quantitative analysis of a ternary mixture was studied by taking the THz fingerprints into account, and the results demonstrate THz spectroscopy has great potential for the practical applications in biochemistry and pharmaceutics.

Background One of the major challenges in arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy （ARVC） ablation is ventricular tachy-cardia （VT） non-inducibility. The study aimed to assess whether fast rate （≥ 250 beats/min） right ventricular burst stimulation was useful for VT induction in patients with *** Ninety-one consecutive ARVC patients with clinical sustained VT that underwent electro-physiological study were enrolled. The stimulation protocol was implemented at both right ventricular apex and outflow tract as follows： Step A, up to double extra-stimuli; Step B, incremental stimulation with low rate （＆lt; 250 beats/min）; Step C, burst stimulation with fast rate （≥ 250 beats/min）; Step D, repeated all steps above with intravenous infusion of *** A total of 76 patients had inducible VT （83.5%）, among which 49 were induced by Step C, 15 were induced by Step B, 8 and 4 by Step A and D, respectively. Clinical VTs were induced in 60 patients （65.9%）. Only two spontaneously ceased ventricular fibrillations were induced by Step C. Multivariate analysis showed that a narrower baseline QRS duration under sinus rhythm was independently associated with VT non-inducibility （OR： 1.1; 95% CI： 1.0-1.1;P = 0.019）.ConclusionFast rate （≥ 250 beats/min） right ventricular burst stimulation provides a useful supplemental method for VT induction in ARVC patients.
