Surface engineering,which modulates the electronic structure and adsorption/desorption properties of electrocatalysts,is one of the key strategies for improving the catalytic ***,we demonstrate a facile solid-phase reaction for surface engineering of MnO2to boost the oxygen reduction *** reaction with surface hydroxy groups,La single atoms with loading amount up to 2.7 wt%are anchored onto *** surface engineering,the oxygen reduction reaction （ORR） kinetics is significantly improved with the half-wave potential from 0.70 to 0.84 V,the number of transferred electrons from 2.5 to 3.9 and the limiting current density from 4.8 to 6.0 mA·*** addition,the catalyst delivers superior discharge performance in both alkaline and neutral metal–air *** functional theory （DFT） calculations reveal that atomic La modulates the surface electronic configuration of MnO2,reduces its d-band center and thus lowers the OOH*and O*reaction energy *** work provides a new route for rational design of highly active electrocatalyst and holds great potential for application in various catalytic reactions.

Nanoscale hierarchically porous metal-organic frameworks （NH-MOFs） synergistically combine the advantages of nanoscale MOFs and hierarchically porous MOFs,resulting in remarkable characteristics such as increased specific surface area,greater porosity,and enhanced exposure of active ***,nanoscale hierarchically porous UIO-66 （UIO-66＿X） was synthesized using a defect-induced strategy that employed ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid （EDTA） as a *** introduced EDTA occupies the coordination sites of organic ligands,promoting the formation and growth of UIO-66 crystal nuclei and inducing defects during *** as-synthesized UIO-66＿X crystals exhibit a uniform distribution with an average size of approximately 100 *** addition,the total pore volume attains a remarkable value of 0.95 cm3g-1,with mesopores constituting 36.8%of the ***,the porosities of UIO-66＿X can be easily tuned by controlling the molar ratio of EDTA/Zr4+.In addition,the as-synthesized UIO-66＿X exhibits excellent adsorption capacities for n-hexane (344 mg g-1) and pxylene (218 mg g-1),which are 44.5%and 27.5%higher than those of conventional UIO-66,***,the adsorption behavior of n-hexane and p-xylene molecules in UIO-66＿X was investigated using density functional theory simulations.

The risk factors of severe infections in children during the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS‐CoV‐2)outbreak in Beijing remain ***‐CoV‐2‐positive children admitted to the intensive care unit(ICU)with collected plasma specimens were enrolled and screened for common pathogens using capillary electrophoresis‐based multiplex PCR from December 12,2022,to January 24,*** SARS‐CoV‐2 subvariants were identified using next‐generation *** was positive for two(positive;P),one(suspicious;S),or no(negative;N)SARS‐CoV‐2 genes were classified as plasmatic RNA‐positive(RNAemia;P+S)or without RNAemia(N).Clinical and laboratory data of the enrolled cases were then collected and *** 34 enrolled children included 26 males and 24 younger than three *** were negative for other respiratory ***.7.14(18/29)was the predominant *** loads in respiratory specimens,hours from symptom onset to the first respiratory specimen collection(time‐variable),with comorbidities and BF.7.14 and BA.5.2 distributions were significantly different in P vs.N and RNAemia *** RNAemia *** most cases,the T lymphocyte ratios decreased,while the cytokine level and the B lymphocyte ratio *** time variables were 2.22±2.05 and 4.00±2.49 days in BF.7.14 and BA.5.2 infections,*** conclusion,SARS‐CoV‐2 was more likely to cause severe infections among males aged≤3 years old with comorbidities during the SARS‐CoV‐2 outbreak in Beijing,while RNAemia is more common in children at the early stage of severe BF.7.14 infections,and most had high cytokine levels and B‐cell activation.

Artificial intelligence(AI)can sometimes resolve difficulties that other advanced technologies and humans *** medical diagnostics,AI has the advantage of processing figure recognition,especially for images with similar characteristics that are difficult to distinguish with the naked ***,the mechanisms of this advanced technique should be well-addressed to elucidate clinical *** this letter,regarding an original study presented by Takayama et al,we suggest that the authors should effectively illustrate the mechanism and detailed procedure that artificial intelligence techniques processing the acquired images,including the recognition of non-obvious difference between the normal parts and pathological ones,which were impossible to be distinguished by naked eyes,such as the basic constitutional elements of pixels and grayscale,special molecules or even some metal ions which involved into the diseases occurrence.

A stable,efficient,and economical bifunctional electrolytic catalyst would be incredibly beneficial for the development of hydrogen production by electrocatalytic water *** this study,we synthesized a novel MnS–MnO heterogeneous nanocube@N,S-doped carbon(MnS–MnO@NSC).MnS–MnO nanocubes possess rich heterogeneous interfaces and plentiful catalytic active sites to promote electrochemical reactions,while the N,S-doped carbon shell possesses excellent conductivity and catalytic properties and protects the ***–MnO@NSC exhibited excellent electrochemical properties as an effective bifunctional electrocatalyst for the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER)in KOH *** the HER,the overpotential was as low as 124 mV at a current density of 10 mA·cm^(-2)while in the OER,it was only 340 mV at 100 mA·cm^(-2)under the same *** addition,a MnS–MnO@NSC||MnS–MnO@NSC electrolyzer exhibited almost comparable activity and higher steadiness than those exhibited by the state-of-the-art Pt/C||RuO_(2)/C system for full water splitting in KOH solution.

Mitochondriopathy inspired adenosine triphosphate(ATP) depletions have been recognized as a powerful way for controlling tumor growth. Nevertheless, selective sequestration or exhaustion of ATP under complex biological environments remains a prodigious challenge. Harnessing the advantages of in vivo self-assembled nanomaterials, we designed an Intracellular ATP Sequestration(IAS) system to specifically construct nanofibrous nanostructures on the surface of tumor nuclei with exposed ATP binding sites,leading to highly efficient suppression of bladder cancer by induction of mitochondriopathy-like ***, the reported transformable nucleopeptide(NLS-FF-T) self-assembled into nuclear-targeted nanoparticles with ATP binding sites encapsulated inside under aqueous conditions. By interaction with KPNA2, the NLS-FF-T transformed into a nanofibrous-based ATP trapper on the surface of tumor nuclei,which prevented the production of intracellular energy. As a result, multiple bladder tumor cell lines(T24,EJ and RT-112) revealed that the half-maximal inhibitory concentration(IC50) of NLS-FF-T was reduced by approximately 4-fold when compared to NLS-T. Following intravenous administration, NLS-FF-T was found to be dose-dependently accumulated at the tumor site of T24 xenograft mice. More significantly, this IAS system exhibited an extremely antitumor efficacy according to the deterioration of T24 tumors and simultaneously prolonged the overall survival of T24 orthotopic xenograft mice. Together, our findings clearly demonstrated the therapeutic advantages of intracellular ATP sequestration-induced mitochondriopathy-like damages, which provides a potential treatment strategy for malignancies.

More than 5000 landslides or potential landslides have been triggered in the Three Gorges Reservoir （TGR） area since the impoundment in 2003. Aimed at investigating the reservoir-induced landslides spatiotemporal and size distribution and its influence factors in the TGR by taking 790 landslides as statistical samples. The landslides exhibit significant regional and sub-regional differences in spatially， and numerous landslides occurred at the initial three impoundment stages and the corresponding following 2–3 cycles of reservoir operations， but the landslide frequency decreased dramatically after 2010 in temporally. The relationship between landslide development and topographical， geological as well as hydrological factors were analyzed qualitatively. The reservoir-induced landslides in TGR area exhibit self-organized criticality and the rollover is nearly 2.5×104m2， which could not attribute to the data missing but the coupled influences imposed by affecting factors. Both the double Pareto and inverse gamma functions are more suitable than the power-law function to present the landslide size characteristics. In term of the fitting precious， the adaptability of the inverse gamma function is better if the landslide inventories are limited. The research results provide foundation for the landslide susceptibility maps and hazard risk assessment.
