Facet effects on bimetallic ZnSn hydroxide microcrystals for selective electrochemical CO2 reduction

Employing crystal facets to regulate the catalytic properties in electrocatalytic carbon dioxide reduction reaction（eCO2RR） has been well demonstrated on electrocatalysts containing single metals but rarely explored for bimetallic systems. Here, we synthesize Zn Sn（OH）6（ZSO）microcrystals（MCs） with distinct facets and investigate the facet effects in eCO2RR. Electrochemical studies and in situ Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy（in situ-FTIR） reveal that ZSO MCs produce mainly C1 products of HCOOH and CO. The {111} facet of the ZSO MCS exhibits higher selectivity and faradaic efficiency（FE） than that of the {100} facet over a wide range of potentials（-0.9 V ～-1.3 V versus RHE）. Density Functional Theory（DFT） calculations elucidate that the {111} facet is favorable to the adsorption/activation of CO2molecules,the formation of intermediate in the rate-determining step, and the desorption of C1 products of CO and HCOOH molecules.

Understanding the properties of nuclei near the double magic nucleus 40Ca is crucial for both nuclear theory and experiments. In this study, Ca isotopes were investigated using an extended pairing-plus-quadrupole model with monopole corrections. The time-domain calibration coefficient of a D-Dot sensor should be identical across various transverse electromagnetic (TEM) cells to comply with the IEEE Std 1309. However, in our previous calibration experiments, poor consistency was observed. The size of D-Dot sensors relative to TEM cells is considered the main reason for this poor consistency. Therefore, this study aims at determining the calibration coefficient of a D-Dot sensor. We calculate the theoretical coefficient as a reference. Practical calibration experiments involve the processing of TEM cells with three different sizes. To observe the response more clearly, corresponding models are constructed and numerical simulations are performed. The numerical simulations and experimental calibration are in good agreement. To determine the calibration accuracy, we quantify the accuracy using the relative error of the calibration coefficient. By comparing the coefficients obtained, it can be concluded that the perturbation error is about 15% when the relative size is over 1/3. Further, the relative size should be less than 1/5 to obtain a relative error below 10%.

Recent years have seen increasing academic interest in exploring the correlation between temperature and ***,it is uncertain whether similar long-term trends or seasonality(rather than causal effect)of temper-ature and crime is the major reason for the observed correlation between *** explore whether there is still a correlation between temperature and crime when long-term trends and seasonal cycles are filtered out,we use the Kalman filter to decompose the time series of temperature and crimes,and then the fast Fourier transform is used to calculate the exact circle of their seasonality *** on that,the box-plot method and linear regression are used to explore the correlation between temperature residuals and crime *** results show that more than half of the crime types have similar seasonal cycles(approximately 1 year)to that of ***,the daily residual analyses show that temperature residuals have a positive correlation with assault and robbery residuals in all cities,whose average slopes are more than *** other four types of crimes vary greatly from case to *** temperature residuals show a weak correlation with the residuals of some crime types.

Impact, tensile, and fatigue tests were performed in In783 alloy serving 4000, 23,000 and 48,000 h. The microstructure was then analysed by optical microscopy(OM), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), and transmission electron microscopy(TEM) to probe the relationship between microstructure and properties. The results show that a new Ni_(5)Al_(3) phase is found, which grows gradually in β phase with serving time increasing,destroying the martensitic structure of the β phase, and degenerating the toughness of the β phase(approximately13.88% reduction). Therefore, the degradation of the βphase results in a sharp dropping of the resistance to stress accelerated grain boundary oxygen(SAGBO) during serving;thus, the intergranular fracture morphology degree increases with duration of service(almost 40% increase from the fractured surface). In addition, the strength of alloy will be gradually enhanced when the γ'phase becomes relatively bulky with serving time increasing due to considerable distortion of the dislocations as a result of the spacing of individual particles, in which any movement of the dislocation will have to overcome a larger number of obstacles per unit length.
