Chronic stress leads to many psychiatric disorders,including social and anxiety disorders that are associated with over-activation of neurons in the basolateral amygdala(BLA).However,not all individuals develop psychiatric diseases,many showing considerable resilience against stress *** BLA neuronal activity is involved in regulating an individual’s vulnerability to stress remains *** this study,using a mouse model of chronic social defeat stress(CSDS),we divided the mice into susceptible and resilient subgroups based on their social interaction *** in vivo fiber photometry and in vitro patch-clamp recording,we showed that CSDS persistently(after 20 days of recovery from stress)increased BLA neuronal activity in all the mice regardless of their susceptible or resilient nature,although impaired social interaction behavior was only observed in susceptible *** anxiety-like behavior,on the other hand,was evident in both ***,the CSDS-induced increase of BLA neuronal activity correlated well with the heightened anxiety-like but not the social avoidance behavior in *** findings provide new insight to our understanding of the role of neuronal activity in the amygdala in mediating stress-related psychiatric disorders.

Dysregulated GABAergic inhibition in the amygdala has long been implicated in stress-related neuropsychiatric ***,the molecular and circuit mechanisms underlying the dysregulation remain ***,by using a mouse model of chronic social defeat stress(CSDS),we observed that the dysregulation varied drastically across individual projection neurons(PNs)in the basolateral amygdala(BLA),one of the kernel amygdala subregions critical for stress *** persistently reducing the extrasynaptic GABAAreceptor(GABA_(A)R)-mediated tonic current in the BLA PNs projecting to the ventral hippocampus(BLA→v HPC PNs),CSDS increased the current in those projecting to the anterodorsal bed nucleus of stria terminalis(BLA→adBNST PNs),suggesting projection-based dysregulation of tonic inhibition in BLA PNs by *** and electrophysiological analysis revealed that the opposite CSDS influences were mediated by loss-and gain-of-function ofδ-containing GABA_(A)Rs(GABA_(A)(δ)Rs)in BLA→vHPC and BLA→adBNST PNs,***,it was the lost inhibition in the former population but not the augmentation in the latter population that correlated with the increased anxiety-like behavior in CSDS *** mediated maintenance of GABA_(A)(δ)R currents in BLA→vHPC PNs occluded CSDS-induced anxiety-like *** findings clarify the molecular substrate for the dysregulated GABAergic inhibition in amygdala circuits for stress-associated psychopathology.

The rich phase behavior of block copolymers(BCPs)has drawn great attention in recent ***,the double diamond(DD)phase is rarely obtained because of the competition between the minimization of interfacial energy and packing ***,a rod-coil BCP containing mesogen-jacketed liquid crystalline polymer is designed to acquire ordered bicontinuous network *** reduction of internal energy originating from the orientational interaction among the rod blocks can compensate for the free energy penalty of packing frustration to stabilize the DD *** resulting BCP can also experience lamellae-to-DD and double gyroid-to-lamellae transitions by changing the annealing *** results make the rod-coil BCP an excellent candidate for the self-assembly of ordered network structures,demonstrating great potential in nanopatterning and metamaterials.

Recent progress in CdS-based S-scheme photocatalysts

As a key part of the limbic system in the mammalian brain,the amygdala complex plays an essential role in the generation and expression of emotion such as fear and *** generally known,chronic stress exposure leads to the overexcitation of the projection neurons in amygdala,resulting in long-lasting and inappropriate expression of ***,the underpinning neurobiological mechanisms remain largely ***,we made two mice models to mimic the chronic stress exposure in reality-chronic immobilization stress and chronic unpredictable *** using the whole-cell configuration of patch clamp in amygdala slices,we investigate the possible influence of chronic stress on the inhibitory current in the projection neurons in *** find both forms of chronic stress conspicuously decrease the tonic inhibitory currents in the PNs,which are mediated by the GABA receptors in extrasynaptic *** contrast,they have only negligible effect on the phasic inhibitory currents mediated by the postsynaptic GABA *** effect is dependent on the time course of chronic immobilization *** CIS for 8-10 days significantly compromise the tonic inhibitory currents in PNs,CIS for 4-6 days had only slight but insignificant influence on tonic *** study demonstrates that the CIS-evoked loss of tonic inhibitory current was primarily mediated by glucocorticoid *** the mice with 5μM corticosterone mimics the effect of chronic stress on tonic inhibition and strikingly suppresses the tonic inhibitory currents in amygdala ***,treatment of the CIS mice with glucocorticoid receptor antagonist RU 38486 completely reversed the loss of tonic inhibitory *** contrast,mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist Spironolactone had no effect on the decreased tonic ***,our study offers important experimental evidence to unveil the neurobiological basis underlying the action of CIS on amygdala and provides potential target

Mechanism of local solidification time variations with melt rate during vacuum arc remelting process of 8Cr4Mo4V high-strength steel

A 2D axisymmetric numerical model was established to investigate the variations of molten pool with different melt rates during the vacuum arc remelting of 8Cr4Mo4V high-strength steel,and the ingot growth was simulated by dynamic mesh *** results show that as the ingot grows,the molten pool profile changes from shallow and flat to V-shaped,and both the molten pool depth and the mushy width ***,the variation of both the molten pool shape and the mushy width melt rate is clarified by the thermal equilibrium *** melt rate increases,both the molten pool depth and the mushy width *** is caused by the increment in sensible heat stored in the ingot due to the limitation of the cooling capacity of the *** nonlinear increment in sensible heat leads to a nonlinear increase in the mushy *** addition,as melt rate increases,the local solidification time(LST)of ingot decreases obviously at first and then *** melt rate is controlled in a suitable range,LST is the lowest and the secondary dendrite arm spacing of the ingot is the smallest,which can effectively improve the compactness degree of 8Cr4Mo4V high-strength steel.

Insulation failure significantly contributes to the unpredictable shutdown of power *** to the partial discharge and high-frequency(HF)injection methods,the HF common-mode(CM)leakage current method offers a non-intrusive and highly sensitive ***,the detection of HF CM currents is susceptible to interference from differential-mode(DM)currents,which exhibit high-amplitude and multifrequency components during normal *** address this challenge,this paper proposes a double-ring current sensor based on the principle of magnetic shielding for inverter-fed machine winding insulation *** inner ring harnesses the magnetic aggregation effect to isolate the DM current magnetic field,whereas the outer ring serves as the magnetic core of the Rogowski current sensor,enabling HF CM current ***,the magnetic field distributions of the CM and DM currents were ***,a correlation between the sensor parameters and signal-to-noise ratio of the target HF CM current was ***,an experimental study was conducted on a 3-kW PMSM for *** results indicate that the proposed double-ring HF CM sensor can effectively mitigate DM current *** to a single-ring sensor,a reduction of approximately 40%in the DM component was achieved,which significantly enhanced the precision of online insulation monitoring.

Bionic manta underwater vehicles will play an essential role in future oceans and can perform tasks,such as long-duration reconnaissance and exploration,due to their efficient *** manta wings’deformation is evident during the swimming *** improve the propulsion performance of the unmanned submersible,the study of the deformation into the bionic pectoral fin is *** this research,we designed and fabricated a flexible bionic pectoral fin,which is based on the Fin Ray®effect with active and passive deformation(APD)*** APD fin was actively controlled by two servo motors and could be passively deformed to variable *** APD fin was moved at 0.5 Hz beat frequency,and the propulsive performance was experimentally verified of the bionic pectoral fins equipped with different extents of *** results showed that the pectoral fin with active–passive deformed capabilities could achieve similar natural biological deformation in the wingspan *** average thrust(T)under the optimal wingspan deformation is 61.5%higher than the traditional passive deformed pectoral *** obtained results shed light on the design and optimization of the bionic pectoral fins to improve the propulsive performance of unmanned underwater vehicles(UUV).
