The effects of Co and Fe co-doping Ni-Mn-In alloy on the phase stability,lattice parameters,mag-netic properties,and electronic structures are systematically investigated by using the first-principles *** indicate that Fe atoms replace the excess Mn2 atoms by direct and indirect coex-istence(Fe→Mn 2 and Fe→In→Mn2);Co substitutes the Ni atoms by direct substitution(Co→Ni)for the Ni-Mn-In *** austenites all exhibit the ferromagnetic(FM)state for the studied *** NM martensites are in the ferrimagnetic(FIM-1)state for the Ni_(2)Mn_(1.5)In_(0.5),Ni_(2)Mn_(1.25)In_(0.5)Fe 0.25,Ni_(1.75)Mn_(1.5)In_(0.5)Co_(0.25),and Ni_(1.75)Mn_(1.25)In_(0.5)Co_(0.25)Fe 0.25 alloys,while the other compositions are in the FM *** phase stability of austenite and martensite decreases with increasing Co and Fe co-doping.A magnetic-structural coupling transition occurs at x<0.25 and y<*** Ni_(1.91)Mn_(1.5)In_(0.5)Co_(0.08)and Ni_(1.91)Mn_(1.42)In_(0.5)Co_(0.08)Fe_(0.08)alloys exhibit an A→6M→NM transformation,accompanied by a magnetic *** Co and Fe are co-doped,the hybridization strength between Co and Fe is greater than that between Co/Fe and *** enhancement of magnetocaloric and elastocaloric effects is favored by larger magnetization difference(△M)and lattice volume change(△V/V_(0)).Based on the calculated phase stability,magneto-structure coupling,△V/V 0 and c/a ratio,one can predict that the Ni_(2)-x Mn_(1.5)-y In_(0.5)Co x Fe y alloy with Co content 0≤x≤0.25 and Fe content 0≤y≤0.05 is predicted to have good magneto-controlled functional behavior.

Paleoenvironmental Evolution and Organic Matter Enrichment Genesis of the Late Turonian Black Shale in the Southern Songliao Basin, NE China

The Upper Cretaceous Qingshankou Formation black shales, deposited in the late Turonian(LTB shales), are the main source rocks of the Songliao Basin. The origins of organic matter enrichment of the shales is a contentious subject fuelling many ongoing debates. This study investigates the genesis of the organic matter-rich shale by using molecular geochemistry. The LTB shales can be divided into three sections. The Section Ⅰ shales were deposited in saline, stratified and anoxic water conditions, which are related to seawater incursion events. At least three episodic and periodic seawater incursion events were recognized during Section Ⅰ shale deposition. The Section Ⅱ shales deposited in brackish to fresh and deep lake-level conditions with high primary productivity, which are related to lake-level transgression. The Section Ⅲ shales were deposited under fresh and slightly oxidized water conditions, which are related to lake-level regression. Two organic matter enrichment models for the LTB shales are identified, that is, the seawater incursion model and the maximum lake-level transgression sedimentation model, which act on different shale sections, both playing significant roles in the enrichment of organic matter.

3D-printed Porous Titanium Alloy Implants(pTi),owing to their biologically inertness and relatively smooth surface morphology,adversely affect the biological functions of surrounding *** address the challenges,constructing a bioinspired interface that mimics the hierarchical structure of bone tissue can enhance the cellular functions of *** this context,Hollow Mesoporous Silica Nanoparticles(HMSNs),renowned for their unique physicochemical properties and superior biocompatibility,offer a promising direction for this *** this research,the initially synthesized HMSNs were used to construct a“hollow-mesoporous-macroporous”hierarchical bioinspired coating on the pTi surface through the Layer-by-Layer ***,diverse morphologies of coatings were established by adjusting the deposition strategy of PDDA/HMSNs on the pTi surface(pTi-HMSN-2,pTi-HMSN-4,pTi-HMSN-6).A range of techniques were employed to investigate the physicochemical properties and regulation of cellular biological functions of the diverse HMSN coating ***,the pTi-HMSN-4 and pTi-HMSN-6 groups exhibited the uniform coatings,leading to a substantial enhancement in surface roughness and ***,the coating constructed strategy of pTi-HMSN-4 possessed commendable *** on the aforementioned findings,both pTi-HMSN-4 and pTi-HMSN-6 facilitated the adhesion,spreading,and pseudopodia extension of BMSCs,which led to a notable upsurge in the expression levels of vinculin protein in *** analysis indicates that the coating,when PDDA/HMSNs are deposited four times,possesses favorable overall *** research will provide a solid theoretical basis for the translation of HMSN bioinspired coatings for orthopedic implants.

Elemental doping is an effective strategy to enhance photocatalytic activity and extend the light absorption range of single-component *** this work,a series of La-doped CeO_(2) nanorods(La-CeO_(2)-x) with La content of 1 wt%-15 wt% are synthesized by a simple hydrothermal method and further used as photocatalyst for sulfamerazine(SMR) *** prepared La-CeO_(2)-x nanorods exhibit a great improvement in electron-hole pair migration and visible-light response due to the synergistic effect of abundant oxygen vacancies and heterogeneous elements(La).Consequently,La-CeO_(2)-x exhibited excellent visible-light photocatalytic performances and chemical stability for SMR degradation,the La-CeO_(2)-5 sample achieved the highest SMR degradation rate of 81%,which was 3.4 times higher than that of the original CeO_(2).Furthermore,three possible degradation pathways of SMR in La-CeO_(2) photocatalytic reactions were proposed by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry ***,density functional theory calculations were carried out to provide an in-depth understanding of the structure-performance *** its excellent properties and better photocatalytic performance,this study demonstrates that La doping in CeO_(2) is an effective way to increase oxygen vacancy and improve the photochemical properties of photocatalysts.

In recent years,molybdenum disulfide（MoS2） has gained significant attention in the scientific *** MoS2demonstrates unique properties and potential ***,the synthesis of few-layered and high-purity 1T-MoS2is still a *** this study,we successfully employed a hydrothermal method to synthesize few-layered and high-purity *** purity of the material is controlled by a combination of sodium borohydride and ***,the few-layered 1T-MoS2exhibits exceptional performance as a supercapacitor,including the high specific capacitance(250.3 F g-1at a current density of 1 A g-1) and excellent long-trem cycling stability（90.7 % after 5000 cycles）.Meanwhile,the asymmetric device assembled by 6-FL-1TMoS2and active carbon on carbon cloths exhibits excellent flexibility and high energy and power density(23.1μWh cm-2at 600 μW cm-2,55 μWh cm-2at 12000 μW cm-2).This work provides valuable insights into the synthesis of few-layered and high-purity 1T-MoS2,opening up new avenues for further research and applications.

The cancer stem cell hypothesis provides a basis for prediction of the recurrence and risk of metastasis in breast ***,the unique expression pattern of stemness markers and the presence of nonstem-like cancer cells with varied phenotypes have brought great challenges to the characterization of breast cancer stem *** address these challenges,a phenotype-directed DNA nanomachine has been designed for high-accuracy labeling and in situ analysis of the stem cell-like subpopulation in breast *** key for the design is to use cell surfaceanchored inputs to activate the nanomachine,which undergoes different branch migration pathways such that the signal strand can only be brought onto the cancer cells having the stem cell-like *** sensitive determination and single-step isolation of the stem cell-like subpopulation were achieved by incorporating functional groups into the signal strand such that the nanomachine was successfully applied in a tumor-bearing mouse ***,the approach provides for a substantial improvement in capability for the analysis of the breast cancer stem cell-like subpopulation,and it is expected that the new approach will advance the use of DNA nanomachines in cancer-related studies.

Chemically modified superatoms have emerged as promising candidates in the new periodic table, in which Au13and its doped M_nAu13-nhave been widely studied. However, their important counterpart, Ag13artificial element, has not yet been synthesized. In this work, we report the synthesis of Ag13nanoclusters using strong chelating ability and rigid ligands, that fills the gaps in the icosahedral superatomic metal clusters. After further doping Ag13template with different degrees of Au atoms, we gained insight into the evolution of their optical properties. Theoretical calculations show that the kernel metal doping can modulate the transition of the excited-state electronic structure, and the electron transfer process changes from local excitation（LE） to charge transfer（CT） to LE. This study not only enriches the families of artificial superatoms, but also contributes to the understanding of the electronic states of superatomic clusters.

Research efforts on permanganate(Mn(VII))combined with redox-mediator(RM),have received increasing attention due to their significant performance for bisphenol-A(BPA)***,the mechanisms underpinning BPA degradation remain *** we show the overlooked interactions between RM and BPA during permanganate oxidation by introducing an RMdN-hydroxyphthalimide(NHPI).We discovered that the concurrent generation of MnO_(2) and phthalimide-N-oxyl(PINO)radical significantly enhances BPA oxidation within the pH range of *** detection of radical cross-coupling products between PINO radicals and BPA or its derivatives corroborates the pivotal role of radical cross-coupling in BPA ***,we observed the formation of an NHPI-BPA complex,which undergoes preferential oxidation by Mn(VII),marked by the emergence of an electronrich domain in *** findings unveil the underlying mechanisms in the Mn(VII)/RM system and bridge the knowledge gap concerning BPA transformation via *** research paves the way for further exploration into optimizing complexation sites and RM dosage,significantly enhancing the system's efficiency in water treatment applications.
