A new interval arithmetic method is proposed to solve interval functions with correlated intervals through which the overestimation problem existing in interval analysis could be significantly alleviated. The correlation between interval parameters is defined by the multidimensional parallelepiped model which is convenient to describe the correlative and independent interval variables in a unified framework. The original interval variables with correlation are transformed into the standard space without correlation,and then the relationship between the original variables and the standard interval variables is obtained. The expressions of four basic interval arithmetic operations, namely addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, are given in the standard space. Finally, several numerical examples and a two-step bar are used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

The advanced telecom technologies and massive volumes of intelligent mobile phone users have yielded a huge amount of real-time data of people’s all-in-one telecommunication records,which we call telco big *** telco data and the domain knowledge of an urban city,we are now able to analyze the movement and contact patterns of humans in an unprecedented *** map is widely used to display the movements of humans from one single source to multiple destinations by representing locations as nodes and movements as ***,it fails the task of visualizing both movement and contact *** addition,analysts often need to compare and examine the patterns side by side,and do various quantitative *** this work,we propose a novel spatio-temporal flow map layout to visualize when and where people from different locations move into the same places and make *** also propose integrating the spatiotemporal flow maps into existing spatiotemporal visualization techniques to form a suite of techniques for visualizing the movement and contact *** report a potential application the proposed techniques can be applied *** results show that our design and techniques properly unveil hidden information,while analysis can be achieved efficiently.

Manipulating the structure self-reconstruction of transition metal sulfide-based(pre)catalysts during the oxygen evolution reaction(OER) process is of great interest for developing cost-effective OER catalysts,which remains a central challenge. Here we realize a deep structure self-reconstruction of natural chalcopyrite to unlock its OER performance via mechanochemical activation. Compared with the manually milled counterpart(CuFeS_(2)-HM), the mechanically milled catalyst(CuFeS_(2)-BM) with a reduced crystallinity exhibits a 7.11 times higher OER activity at 1.53 V vs. RHE. In addition, the CuFeS_(2)-BM requires a low overpotential of 243 mV for generating 10 mA cm^(-2) and exhibits good stability over 24 h. Further investigations suggest that the excellent OER performance of CuFeS_(2)-BM mainly originates from the decreased crystallinity induced the in situ deep structure self-reconstruction of the originally sulfides into the electroactive and stable metal(oxy)hydroxide phase(e.g., a-Fe OOH) via S etching under OER conditions. This study demonstrates that regulating the crystallinity of catalysts is a promising design strategy for developing highly efficient OER catalysts via managing the structure self-reconstruction process, which can be further extended to the design of efficient catalysts for other advanced energy conversion devices. In addition, this study unveils the great potentials of engineering abundant natural minerals as cost-effective catalysts for diverse applications.

Artificial catalytic synthesis of ammonia has become a hot research frontier in recent *** is regarded as a promising approach that may replace the Haber-Bosch process and reduce global carbon dioxide ***,it is extremely difficult for the cleavage of nitrogen molecules under ambient *** the ammonia yield rate is still low and the study is still limited in lab *** nitrites or nitrates are used as nitrogen sources,rather than nitrogen gas,the catalytic efficiency can be significantly improved,and the residual nitrate and nitrite contaminations in water systems can be efficiently eliminated and converted to energy sources at the same *** is an emerging alternative for artificial ammonia synthesis,while there is not enough focus on the reduction of nitrate and ***,we systematically compared the differences between the reduction of nitrogen and nitrates,as well as listed the challenges in this *** total conversion rate and energy efficiency of catalytic nitrate reduction are much higher than nitrogen gas reduction due to the much higher solubility and better converting pathway,which might be further enhanced by employing catalysts improvement ***,we also proposed suitable materials as well as a few future researches needs that may help boost the development of artificial ammonia synthesis using nitrate.

A new Ruhrstahl-Heraeus(RH)equipment with a weir added to the vacuum chamber was designed to help improve refining efficiency of low-carbon steel *** flow characteristics of the new RH equipment and a traditional RH equipment were evaluated and compared through water modeling experiments and an optimized calculation *** the water experiments,the mixing time,the residence time and the circulation flow rates were measured,and the flow simulating molten steel in the vacuum was *** results show that the decarburization efficiency in the new RH equipment is much *** mixing time is equal to or less than that of the latter when the gas flow rate is higher than 2.33 m^(3)/*** proportion of the piston flow increases by at least 40%,and the proportion of the well-mixed flow decreases from greater than 40%to less than 20%.The effective flow rate of the new RH equipment increases greatly in the piston flow zone and the total lag flow zone based on the residence time distribution *** conclusion,when a weir is added to a RH vacuum chamber,the effective circulation flow increases significantly,and the decarburization rate KC of molten steel at low-carbon stage is improved.

Artificial ammonia synthesis using solar energy is of great significance as it can help narrow the gap to the zero-net emission ***,the current photocatalytic activity is generally too low for mass ***,we report a novel bismuth bromide oxide(BiOBr)-Tetracyanoquinodimethane(TCNQ)photocatalyst prepared via a facile self-assembly *** to the well-match band structure of TCNQ and Bi OBr,the separation and transfer of photogenerated electron-hole pairs were significantly *** importantly,the abundant delocalizedπelectrons of TCNQ,and the electron-withdrawing property of TNCQ made electrons efficiently accumulated on the catalysts,which can strengthen the adsorption and cleavage of nitrogen *** a result,the photocatalytic activity increased *** highest ammonia yield of the optimized sample reached 2.617 mg/(h gcat),which was 5.6-fold as that of pristine BiOBr and higher than the reported BiOBr-based *** isotope labeled^(15)N_(2)was used to confirm that the ammonia is formed form the fixation of N_(2).Meanwhile,the sample also had good *** 4-time usage,the photocatalysts still had about 81.8%as the fresh *** results of this work provide a new way for optimizing the electronic structure of photocatalysts to achieve highly efficient photochemical N_(2) reduction.
