Use of sewage in split doses to enhance water productivity for fish culture

The problem of sewage disposal has received great attention *** raw sewage contains a variety of high inorganic and organic matters that affect natural water *** mitigate such problem,sewage may be recycled through aquaculture *** recycling in aquaculture enhances water productivity through nutrients *** loading of sewage ensures viable aquaculture;otherwise,fish mortality occurs due to poor water *** optimize sewage application,two different experiments were conducted,each with four *** both experiments,three fish species namely rohu(Labeo rohita Hamilton,1822),mrigal(Cirrhinus mrigala Hamilton,1822),and bata(Labeo bata Hamilton,1822)were tested in triplicate in FrP(Fibre-reinforced Plastic)*** sewage concentrations(0,25%,50%and 75%)used in first experiment were prepared by mixing freshwater,showing Biochemical Oxygen Demand(BOD)2.0±0.4 mg/L,10.8±1.4 mg/L,19.6±1.5 mg/L and 41.6±2.58 mg/L,*** 30 days rearing,results showed≥75%fish survival in sewage concentrations up to 50%with BOD level 19.6±1.5 mg/*** than 50%fish survived in 75%sewage concentration,with BOD level as 41.6±2.58 mg/*** second experiment was conducted for 90 days considering 50%sewage concentration as basal dose with BOD level as 19.6 mg/L as an acceptable limit for fish *** doses of sewage were applied in T_(1),T_(2) and T_(3) treatments fortnightly,weekly and semi-weekly intervals,while single dose was used in C(control)*** of split doses resulted better hydro-biological changes,including nutrients recovery,in T_(1),T_(2) and T_(3) than that of single dose in *** growth plotted with net primary productivity(NPP),phytoplankton and zooplankton densities exhibited positive correlations in T_(2)(12 doses)and T_(3)(24 doses),considered as optimal doses to ensure better water productivity for desirable fish production than sewage with single dose or limited doses(6 doses).

Overview of immunosuppression in liver transplantation

Continued advances in surgical techniques and immunosuppressive therapy have allowed liver transplantation to become an extremely successful treatment option for patients with end-stage liver *** with the revolutionary discovery of cyclosporine in the 1970s,immunosuppressive regimens have evolved greatly and current statistics confirm one-year graft survival rates in excess of 80%. Immunosuppressive regimens include calcineurin inhibitors,anti-metabolites,mTOr inhibitors,steroids and antibody-based *** agents target different sites in the T cell activation cascade,usually by inhibiting T cell activation or via T cell *** are used as induction therapy in the immediate periand post-operative period,as long-term maintenance medications to preserve graft function and as salvage therapy for acute rejection in liver transplant recipients. This review will focus on existing immunosuppressive agents for liver transplantation and consider newer medications on the horizon.

In any closed environment considered,it can be seen that the acoustic parameters are inherently not constant over the entire area *** a closed environment,it is ideally preferred to maintain the acoustic parameters as constant so that there exists better quality of sound leading to better auditory perception with respect to the ***,some of the acoustic parameters like reverberation time and clarity do not strictly pertain to the pattern obtained *** this paper,simulations are carried out using I-SIMPA under different values of Sound Transmission Class(STC),source position,distribution and the chamber dimensions and provides an insight into the behaviour of these acoustic parameters and the appropriate values that have to be infused into the system to build the *** acoustic environment is modelled keeping an actual closed room in mind and testing is done with respect to different values of surface absorption coefficients(practically indicated using Sound Transmission Class)and dimensions to determine ideal conditions.

Aerodynamic characteristics of unsymmetrical aerofoil at various turbulence intensities

A series of wind tunnel tests were performed to investigate the effect of turbulent inflows on the aerodynamic characteristics of the unsymmetrical airfoil at various turbulence intensities and reynolds number. To assess the aerodynamic characteristics, surface pressure measurements were made over the unsymmetrical airfoil surface by using a simultaneous pressure scanner MPS4264 of Scanivalve make. Self-generated passive grids made of parallel arrays of round bars were placed at four different locations to generate various Turbulence Intensities(TI) in the wind tunnel. The location of the passive grid has been normalized in terms of considering the distance between the entry of the test section and the leading edge of the model. Based on the wind tunnel results, by comparing the baseline without grid low turbulence case TI = 0.51% with other turbulence generated cases like TI = 4.68%, 4.73%, 6.04% and 8.46% at different reynolds number, it is found that the coefficient of lift increases with the increase in the turbulence intensity. results also reveal that the flow featuring turbulence can effectively delay the stall characteristics of an airfoil by attaching the flow over the airfoil for an extended region. Additionally, attempts were made to understand the influence of turbulence on the aerodynamic hysteresis.

The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)is associated with high morbidity and mortality,prompting overwhelmed hospital systems to reallocate resources to those stricken with the *** response,many liver transplantation programs unexpectedly came to an abrupt halt,significantly affecting the lives of living donors and recipients around the *** the risk-benefit scale of liver transplantation has changed in the era of COVID-19,it is prudent to understand the impact of COVID-19 on those with underlying liver disease and those in need of a liver *** this review,we discuss recommendations put forth by hepatology and transplant societies,summarize results from emerging studies,and propose strategies to appropriately risk stratify patients prior to transplantation.

Lessons learnt from a deep excavation for future application of the observational method

This paper draws lessons learnt from a comprehensive case study in overconsolidated clay. Apart from the introduction of the case study, including field measurements, the paper draws on the observations and a three-dimensional（3 D） numerical analysis to discuss the implications of observations in the application of the observational method（OM） in the context of the requirements of EUrOCODE 7（EC7）.In particular, we focus on corner effects and time-dependent movements and provide initial guidance on how these could be considered. Additionally, we present the validation of a new set of parameters to check that it provides a satisfactory compliance with EC7 as a set of design parameters. All these findings and recommendations are particularly important for those who want to use the OM in similar future projects.

robust Voltage Control Considering Uncertainties of renewable Energies and Loads via Improved Generative Adversarial Network

The fluctuation of output power of renewable energies and loads brings challenges to the scheduling and operation of the distribution *** this paper,a robust voltage control model is proposed to cope with the uncertainties of renewable energies and loads based on an improved generative adversarial network(IGAN).Firstly,both real and predicted data are used to train the IGAN consisting of a discriminator and a *** noises sampled from the Gaussian distribution are fed to the generator to generate a large number of scenarios that are utilized for robust voltage control after scenario ***,a new improved wolf pack algorithm(IWPA)is presented to solve the formulated robust voltage control model,since the accuracy of the solutions obtained by traditional methods is *** simulation results show that the IGAN can accurately capture the probability distribution characteristics and dynamic nonlinear characteristics of renewable energies and loads,which makes the scenarios generated by IGAN more suitable for robust voltage control than those generated by traditional ***,IWPA has a better performance than traditional methods in terms of convergence speed,accuracy,and stability for robust voltage control.

Ionic liquid electrolytes for sodium-ion batteries to control thermal runaway

Sodium-ion batteries are expected to be more affordable for stationary applications than lithium-ion batteries,while still offering sufficient energy density and operational capacity to power a significant segment of the battery *** this,thermal runaway explosions associated with organic electrolytes have led to concerns regarding the safety of sodium-ion *** electrolytes,ionic liquids are promising because they have negligible vapor pressure and show high thermal and electrochemical *** review discusses the safety contributions of these electrolyte properties for high-temperature *** ionic liquids provide thermal stability while at the same time promoting high-voltage window battery ***,apart from cycle stability,there is an additional safety feature attributed to modified ultra-concentrated ionic liquid *** these contributions,the following have been discussed,heat sources and thermal runaway mechanisms,thermal stability,the electrochemical decomposition mechanism of stable cations,and the ionic transport mechanism of ultra-concentrated ionic liquid *** addition,the contributions of hybrid electrolyte systems consisting of ionic liquids with either organic carbonate or polymers are also *** thermal stability of ionic liquids is found to be the main contributor to cell safety and cycle *** high-temperature applications where electrolyte safety,capacity,and cycle stability are important,highly concentrated ionic liquid electrolyte systems are potential solutions for sodium-ion battery applications.

Deltamethrin:Promising mosquito control agent against adult stage of Aedes aegypti L.

Objective:To evaluate the effects of deltamethrin against field-collected adults of Aedes aegypti L(***).Methods:The adults were selected with 0.025%deltamethrin for 40 successive *** selected adults were tested with 4%DDT and the emerging larvae were tested with various insecticides to study the cross-resistance *** knockdown and irritability studies were carried out in adult mosquitoes to investigate their behavioural response to ***:Forty generations of selection with deltamethrin resulted in only 3.8-fold resistance in the adults of *** adults of parent(PS) and selected strains (DAS) exhibited only 0.8-fold cross resistance to 4%*** larvae emerging from the PS and DAS strains did not develop appreciable levels of resistance to various insecticides *** knockdown studies revealed KTSO of 14.4 min in PS adults with no signs of recovery even after 24 h. The DAS strains could develop only 1.2 to 1.3-fold knockdown resistance(KDr).The knockdown response of DDT was though 5-6 times slower than deltamethrin but the continued response in deltamethrin-selected adults caused only 1.2-fold *** PS and DAS strains exhibited significant irritability response towards deltamethrin and *** DAS strains showed 5-6 fold increased irritability to deltamethrin as compared to the PS ***:The above results suggest the prolonged effective use of deltamethrin against *** as an adulticide.
