Electrically conductive and flame-retardant maleic anhydride grafted high-density polyethylene(MA-HDPE) nanocomposites with satisfactory mechanical properties are fabricated by melt compounding MA-HDPE with polyethyleneimine(PEI)-modified reduced graphene oxide(PEI@RGO) as the conductive nanofiller and brominated polystyrene(BPS) as the flame retardant. The modification with PEI significantly improves the interfacial compatibility and dispersion of the RGO sheets in the MA-HDPE matrix, leading to electrically conductive nanocomposites with enhanced mechanical properties. Furthermore, the addition of 25 wt% of BPS makes the nanocomposite flame-retardant with a UL-94 V-0 rating. Thus, the multifunctional RGO/MA-HDPE nanocomposites with good electrical, flameretardant, and mechanical properties would have potential applications in construction and pipeline fields.

Allopolyploidy is an important process in plant speciation, yet newly formed allopolyploid species typically suffer from extreme genetic bottlenecks. One escape from this impasse might be homoeologous meiotic pairing, during which homoeologous exchanges(HEs) generate phenotypically variable progeny. However,the immediate genome-wide patterns and resulting phenotypic diversity generated by HEs remain largely unknown. Here, we analyzed the genome composition of 202 phenotyped euploid segmental allopolyploid individuals from the fourth selfed generation following chromosomal doubling of reciprocal F1 hybrids of crosses between rice subspecies, using whole-genome sequencing. We describe rampant occurrence of HEs that, by overcoming incompatibility or conferring superiority of hetero-cytonuclear interactions, generate extensive and individualized genomic mosaicism across the analyzed tetraploids. We show that the resulting homoeolog copy number alteration in tetraploids affects known-function genes and their complex genetic interactions, in the process creating extraordinary phenotypic diversity at the population level following a single initial hybridization. Our results illuminate the immediate genomic landscapes possible in a tetraploid genomic environment, and underscore HE as an important mechanism that fuels rapid phenotypic diversification accompanying the initial stages of allopolyploid evolution.

A sliding mode control design for a miniature unmanned helicopter is presented. The control objective is to let the helicopter track some predefined velocity and yaw trajectories. A new sliding mode control design method is developed based on a linearized dynamic model. In order to facilitate the control design, the helicopter＇s dynamic model is divided into two subsystems,such as the longitudinal-lateral and the heading-heave subsystem. The proposed controller employs sliding mode control technique to compensate for the immeasurable flapping angles＇ dynamic effects and external disturbances. The global asymptotic stability（GAS） of the closed-loop system is proved by the Lyapunov based stability analysis. Numerical simulations demonstrate that the proposed controller can achieve superior tracking performance compared with the proportionalintegral-derivative（PID） and linear-quadratic regulator（LQR） cascaded controller in the presence of wind gust disturbances.

The influence of heat input on the microstructural evolution of laser-welded Ti_(2)AlNb joints was investigated in this *** thermal cycles during welding process were analyzed by numerical *** the heat affected zone(HAZ),the amount ofα_(2)and O phases decreased with laser power *** the heating period,α_(2)→B2and O→B2transformations occurred,but the decomposition of the B2phase intoα_(2)and O phases was suppressed during the cooling *** heat transfer in the HAZ generated more equiaxed B2grains,fewer LAGBs and a weaker{001}texture due to recovery,recrystallization and grain *** phase composition of the fusion zone remained single with only the B2phase with the increase in heat input,but the mode of grain growth transformed from cellular growth into cellular dendritic growth.A finite element model was established to simulate the thermal cycles during the welding *** heat input induced higher peak temperature,leading to higher temperatures in the HAZ for longer periods of time,which was beneficial for theα_(2)→B2and O→*** calculated cooling rates in both the HAZ and in the fusion zone were faster than the critical cooling rate for B2→α_(2)and B2→O transformations.

Copper oxides（CuOx） nanoparticles dispersed on activated carbon（AC） were prepared by using vaporphase methanol as the reducing agent. The CuOx/AC as prepared exhibited an enhanced catalytic activity in oxidative carbonylation of methanol to dimethyl carbonate（DMC）. The catalytic performance was significantly influenced by reduction conditions including temperature and time. With the similar selectivity of DMC, the space time yield（STY） under optimal reduction conditions reached up to 408 mg g^-1h^-1, which is superior to conventional methods such as thermolysis and solvothermal reduction. Based on the characterization results of XRD, TEM and XPS, the good copper dispersion and high Cu^＋ content obtained by vapor-phase methanol reduction were mainly responsible for the high catalytic activity.

Based on the 60 mm artillery grenade,a slow-release structure was designed to reduce the severity of ammunitions response to accidental thermal stimulation and improve the thermal stability of *** slow-release structure was made of high-density polyethylene(HDPE) and connected the fuse and the projectile body through internal and external *** study the safety of the slowrelease structure under artillery launching overload,mechanical analysis of the slow-release structure was simulated via finite element analysis(FEA).The impacts of various factors(e.g.,fuse mass,number of threads,and nominal diameter of internal threads of the slow-release structure) on the connection strength of the slow-release structure were studied.A strength-prediction model based on the fuse mass and internal thread parameters was established by fitting the maximum effective stress of the slowrelease *** led to good prediction *** conclusion,this study provides references and theoretical support for the design of thermal protection structures insensitive to ammunition.

Impurity Effect on Wear Resistance of Ultrafine-Grained Copper

The wear properties of ultrafine-grained （UFG） Cu samples of different purities were investigated in comparison with the coarse-grained （CG） Cu. The UFG Cu samples, prepared by means of plastic deformation via quasi- static compression, exhibit an enhanced wear resistance relative to the CG Cu samples. For both the UFG and the CG Cu samples, wear volumes increase at higher purities. A steady state worn subsurface structure was formed in each sample after sliding for 60 rain, consisting of a heavily deformed nanostructured mixing layer （NML） on top of a continuous dynamic recrystallization （DRX） layer. A pronounced correlation is identified that wear volume increases monotonically with an increasing grain size of the DRX layer. The impurity level of the Cu samples has an obvious influence on the DRX grain sizes, which in turn determines the wear resistance of the Cu samples.
