Theoretical and experimental investigation on the efficiency of a novel roller piston pump

This study presents a novel roller piston pump,in which a cam guide-roller type rolling support is adopted to replace the sliding pair support of the swash plate-slipper pair to achieve the oil suction and discharge of the piston cavity.In addition,the shaft distribution is used to replace the original valve plate distribution and the driving shaft is used as the distribution shaft to remove the valve plate structure,which greatly simplifies the design of the axial piston pump.Such a configuration largely reduces the number of sliding friction pairs of the pump,and avoids the influence of the sliding friction pair on it under high-speed and variable-speed conditions.Firstly,mathematical models of the mechanical and volumetric efficiencies of the roller pump are deduced respectively through force analysis and the compressibility equation.Based on the numerical simulation of MATLAB and AMESim,the effects of load pressure and rotational speed on mechanical and volumetric efficiencies are studied respectively,and it is verified that the roller pump has no structural flow pulsation.The prototype pump is then designed and built,along with a special test rig.The outlet pressure,outlet flow,and torque of the pump under different load pressures and rotational speeds are measured,and the mechanical and volumetric efficiencies of the prototype pump under various load pressures and rotational speeds are obtained.The experimental results are in good agreement with the simulated analysis.When the load pressure is 8 MPa and the speed is 5000 r/min,the mechanical and the volumetric efficiencies are 85.5% and 96.8%,respectively.When the speed is increased to 10000 r/min,the mechanical and the volumetric efficiencies are 66.7% and 95.6%,respectively.The experimental results show that the proposed roller piston pump has excellent efficiency under wide-speed and high-speed conditions and can be a potential solution as a fuel pump in aerospace fuel systems.

Background:Ciprofol(HSK3486;Haisco Pharmaceutical Group Co.,Ltd.,Chengdu,China),developed as a novel 2,6-disubstituted phenol derivative showed similar tolerability and efficacy characteristics as propofol when applicated as continuous intravenous infusion for 12 h maintenance sedation in a previous phase 1 trial.The phase 2 trial was designed to investigate the safety,efficacy,and pharmacokinetic characteristics of ciprofol for sedation of patients undergoing mechanical ventilation.Methods:In this multicenter,open label,randomized,propofol positive-controlled,phase 2 trial,39 Chinese intensive care unit patients receiving mechanical ventilation were enrolled and randomly assigned to a ciprofol or propofol group in a 2:1 ratio.The ciprofol infusion was started with a loading infusion of 0.1-0.2 mg/kg for 0.5-5.0 min,followed by an initial maintenance infusion rate of 0.30 mg·kg^(-1)·h^(-1),which could be adjusted to an infusion rate of 0.06 to 0.80 mg·kg^(-1)·h^(-1),whereas for propofol the loading infusion dose was 0.5-1.0 mg/kg for 0.5-5.0 min,followed by an initial maintenance infusion rate of 1.50 mg·kg^(-1)·h^(-1),which could be adjusted to 0.30-4.00 mg·kg^(-1)·h^(-1)to achieve-2 to+1 Richmond Agitation-Sedation Scale sedation within 6-24 h of drug administration.Results:Of the 39 enrolled patients,36 completed the trial.The median(min,max)of the average time to sedation compliance values for ciprofol and propofol were 60.0(52.6,60.0)min and 60.0(55.2,60.0)min,with median difference of 0.00(95%confidence interval:0.00,0.00).In total,29(74.4%)patients comprising 18(69.2%)in the ciprofol and 11(84.6%)in the propofol group experienced 86 treatment emergent adverse events(TEAEs),the majority being of severity grade 1 or 2.Drug-and sedation-related TEAEs were hypotension(7.7%vs.23.1%,P=0.310)and sinus bradycardia(3.8%vs.7.7%,P=1.000)in the ciprofol and propofol groups,respectively.The plasma concentration-time curves for ciprofol and propofol were similar.Conclusions:ciprofol is comparable to propofol with good t

A Model Predicting Lymph Node Status for Patients with Clinical Stage TlaNO-2MO Nonsmall Cell Lung Cancer

Background： Lymph node status of patients with early-stage nonsmall cell lung cancer has an influence on the choice of surgery. To assess the lymph node status more correspondingly and accurately, we evaluated the relationship between the preoperative clinical variables and lymph node status and developed one model for predicting lymph node involvement. Methods： We collected clinical and dissected lymph node information of 474 patients with clinical stage TlaN0-2M0 nonsmall cell lung cancer （NSCLC）. Logistic regression analysis of clinical characteristics was used to estimate independent predictors of lymph node metastasis. The prediction model was validated by another group. Results： Eighty-two patients were diagnosed with positive lymph nodes （17.3%）, and four independent predictors of lymph node disease were identified： larger consolidation size （odds ratio [OR] = 2.356, 95% confidence interval [CI]： 1.517-3.658, P 〈 0.001）, central tumor location （OR = 2.810, 95% CI： 1.545-5.109, P = 0.001 ）, abnormal status of tumor marker （OR = 3.190, 95% CI： 1.797-5.661, P 〈 0.001 ）, and clinical N1-N2 stage （OR = 6.518, 95% CI： 3.242-11.697, P 〈 0.001）. The model showed good calibration （Hosmer-Lemeshow goodness-of-fit, P 〈 0.766） with an area under the receiver operating characteristics curve （AUC） of 0.842 （95% [CI]： 0.797-0.886）. For the validation group, the AUC was 0.810 （95% CI： 0.731-0.889）. Conclusions： The model can assess the lymph node status of patients with clinical stage TlaN0-2M0 NSCLC, enable surgeons perform an individualized prediction preoperatively, and assist the clinical decision-making procedure.

ShadowEth： Private Smart Contract on Public Blockchain

Blockchain is becoming popular as a distributed and reliable ledger which allows distrustful parties to transact safely without trusting third parties. Emerging blockchain systems like Ethereum support smart contracts where miners can run arbitrary user-defined programs. However, one of the biggest concerns about the blockchain and the smart contract is privacy, since all the transactions on the chain are exposed to the public. In this paper, we present ShadowEth, a system that leverages hardware enclave to ensure the confidentiality of smart contracts while keeping the integrity and availability based on existing public blockchains like Ethereum. ShadowEth establishes a confidential and secure platform protected by trusted execution environment （TEE） off the public blockchain for the execution and storage of private contracts. It only puts the process of verification on the blockchain. We provide a design of our system including a protocol of the cryptographic communication and verification and show the applicability and feasibility of ShadowEth by various case studies. We implement a prototype using the Intel SGX on the Ethereum network and analyze the security and availability of the system.

Rheology of continental lithosphere and seismic anisotropy

Rheology of rocks controls the deformation of the Earth at various space-time scales,which is crucial to understand the tectonic evolution of continental lithosphere.Researches of rock rheology are mainly conducted via high-pressure and hightemperature rheological experiments and multi-scale observations and measurements of naturally deformed rocks.At present,a large amount of data from such kinds of studies have been accumulated.This paper first provides an up-to-date comprehensive review of the rheological mechanisms,fabric types and seismic properties of the main rock-forming minerals at different depths of continental lithosphere,including olivine,orthopyroxene,clinopyroxene,amphibole,plagioclase,quartz and mica.Then,progress in high-pressure and high-temperature experiments and natural deformation observations is introduced,mainly regarding the rheological strength and behavior,seismic velocity and anisotropy of lithospheric mantle peridotite,eclogite,mafic granulite,amphibolite and felsic rocks.Finally,by taking the Tibetan Plateau as an example,the application of rock rheology for quantitative interpretation of seismic anisotropy data is discussed.The combination of mineral deformation fabrics and seismic anisotropy is expected to make an important breakthrough in understanding the rheological properties and structure of continental lithosphere.

Investigation on Effects of Vertical Degree of Freedom on Gap Resonance Between Two Side-by-Side Boxes Under Wave Actions

The possible wave resonance in the narrow gap formed by the parallel arrangement of ships will lead to the sharp increase of wave loads and the rapid growth of motion response.The fluid resonance inside a narrow gap between two side-by-side boxes is investigated numerically based on an open-source CFD package,OpenFOAM.The upstream box remains fixed,while the downstream box is allowed to heave freely under wave actions.This work aims to examine the influence of the motion of the downstream box on the fluid resonant behaviors inside the gap.The hydrodynamic behaviors considered include the wave height inside the gap,the heave displacement,and the reflection,transmission,and energy loss coefficients.Gao et al.(2021)reported the influence of the motion of the upstream box on gap resonant behaviors.For comparative study,some results of Gao et al.(2021)are also presented in this work.It is found that the heave motion of any box in the two-box system leads to a smaller resonant wave height amplification and a larger fluid resonance frequency.The frequency at which the maximum heave displacement of the downstream box occurs is less than the fluid resonant frequency.The heave motion of any box in the two-box system results in a larger reflection coefficient and a smaller energy loss coefficient.

Follow-up evaluation with ultrasonography of peripheral nerve injuries after an earthquake

Published data on earthquake-associated peripheral nerve injury is very limited. Ultrasonography has been proven to be efficient in the clinic to diagnose peripheral nerve injury. The aim of this study was to assess the role of ultrasound in the evaluation of persistent peripheral nerve injuries 1 year after the Wenchuan earthquake. Thirty-four patients with persistent clinical symptoms and neurologic signs of impaired nerve function were evaluated with sonography prior to surgi- cal repair. Among 34 patients, ultrasonography showed that 48 peripheral nerves were entrapped, and 11 peripheral nerves were disrupted. There was one case of misdiagnosis on ultrasonogra- phy. The concordance rate of ultrasonographic findings with those of surgical findings was 98%. A total of 48 involved nerves underwent neurolysis and the symptoms resolved. Only five nerves had scar tissue entrapment. Preoperative and postoperative clinical and ultrasonographic results were concordant, which verified that ultrasonography is useful for preoperative diagnosis and postoperative evaluation of injured peripheral nerves.

本文提出了一种利用inverse butterfly网络的自路由特性完成循环移位、短字循环移位等操作的可重构控制信息生成算法。该算法具有高并行度和低成本,此外还支持循环移位、双向循环移位以及短字循环移位操作。据我们所知,这是首个将多种不同类型的循环移位操作统一在一个硬件架构中的算法。本文进一步设计了一种高效可重构循环移位单元,并在SMIC 65-nm工艺下实现了逻辑综合。结果表明:与以往具有相似功能的设计相比,该单元的效能至少提升了23%;当仅支持双向循环移位操作时,该单元具有更小的面积和更低的延迟。

Enhancement of visible-light-driven oxidative amine coupling under aerobic and anaerobic conditions by photocatalyst with spatial separation of photoinduced charge carriers

Spatial separation of oxidation/reduction cocatalyst is an effective means to improve the efficiency of charge separation in photocatalytic reaction systems.Herein,a yolk-shell Pd@NH_(2)-UiO-66@Cu_(2)O heterojunction was designed and synthesized by integration of electron collector Pd and hole collector Cu_(2)O inside and outside of a photoactive metal-organic framework(MOF)NH_(2)-UiO-66,respectively.The obtained Pd@NH_(2)-UiO-66@Cu_(2)O heterojunction effectively inhibits the electron and hole recombination through the photo-induced electrons and holes flow inward and outward of the composite,and promotes the reduction and oxidation abilities for the oxidative coupling of benzylamine to imines.Compared with Pd/NH_(2)-UiO-66@Cu_(2)O,Pd@NH_(2)-UiO-66,and Pd/NH_(2)-UiO-66,Pd@NH_(2)-UiO-66@Cu_(2)O exhibits the highest photocatalytic activity.More importantly,Pd@NH_(2)-UiO-66@Cu_(2)O shows a conversion rate of benzylamine up to 99%either by oxidation under aerobic conditions or by strong adsorption of H atom(Hads)under anaerobic conditions.In addition,the catalyst shows good stability and can be recycled at least ten times.This work provides useful guidance on construction of MOFs-based composites with spatially separated photoinduced charge carriers to realize efficient oxidation coupling of benzylamine in both aerobic and anaerobic conditions.

Biodegradation of 2-naphthol and its metabolites by coupling Aspergillus niger with Bacillus subtilis

To explore biodegradation of 2-naphthol and its metabolites accumulated in wastewater treatment,a series of bio-degradation experiments were conducted.Two main metabolites of 2-naphthol,1,2-naphthalene-diol and 1,2-naphthoquinone,were identified by high-performance liquid chromatography with standards.Combining fungus Aspergillus niger with bacterium Bacillus subtilis in the treatment enhanced 2-naphthol degradation efficiency,lowered the accumulation of the two toxic metabolites.There were two main phases during the degradation process by the kinetic analysis：2-naphthol was first partly degraded by the fungus,producing labile and easily accumulated metabolites,and then the metabolites were mainly degraded by the bacterium,attested by the degradation processes of 1,2-naphthalene-diol and 1,2-naphthoquinone as sole source of carbon and energy.Sodium succinate,as a co-metabolic substrate,was the most suitable compound for the continuous degradation.The optimum concentration of 2-naphthol was 50 mg/L.The overall 2-naphthol degradation rate was 92%,and the COD Cr removal rate was 80% on day 10.These results indicated that high degradation rate of 2-naphthol should not be considered as the sole desirable criterion for the bioremediation of 2-naphtholcontaminated soils/wastewater.
