Metastasis is a multistep process involving modification of morphology to suit migration, reduction of tumor cell adhesion to the extracellular matrix, increase of cell mobility, tumor cell resistance to anoikis, and other steps. MicroRNAs are well-suited to regulate tumor metastasis due to their capacity to repress numerous target genes in a coordinated manner, thereby enabling their intervention at multiple steps of the invasion-metastasis cascade. In this study, we identified a microRNA exemplifying these attributes, miR-124, whose expression was reduced in aggressive MDA-MB-231 and SK-3rd breast cancer cells. Down-regulation of miR-124 expression in highly aggressive breast cancer cells contributed in part to DNA hypermethylation around the promoters of the three genes encoding miR-124. Ectopic expression of miR-124 in MDA-MB-231 cells suppressed metastasis-related traits including formation of spindle-like morphology, migratory capacity, adhesion to fibronectin, and anoikis. These findings indicate that miR-124 suppresses multiple steps of metastasis by diverse mechanisms in breast cancer cells and suggest a potential application of miR-124 in breast cancer treatment.

Objective The progress in surgery of the aortic root and the evolution of transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) as an alternative to surgical treatment in selected patients have refocused the need for quantitative imaging of the aortic root during TAVR and valve-sparing aortic root surgery. A specialized three-dimensional transesophageal echocardiography (3D-TEE) reconstruction tool has recently been introduced, which can semi-automatically configure a geometric model of the aortic root from the images obtained by 3D-TEE and performs quantitative analysis of these structures. As highly integrated circuits continue to advance, accompanied by a growing demand for energy efficiency and weight reduction, materials are confronted with mounting challenges pertaining to thermal conductivity and lightweight properties. By virtue of numerous intrinsic mechanisms, as a result, the thermal conductivity and mechanical properties of the Mg alloys are often inversely related, which becomes a bottleneck limiting the application of Mg alloys. Based on several effective modification methods to improve the thermal conductivity of Mg alloys, this paper describes the law of how they affect the mechanical properties, and clearly indicates that peak aging treatment is one of the best ways to simultaneously enhance an alloy's thermal conductivity and mechanical properties. As the most frequently used Mg alloy,cast alloys exhibit substantial potential for achieving high thermal conductivity. Moreover, recent reports indicate that hot deformation can significantly improve the mechanical properties while maintaining, and potentially slightly enhancing, the alloy's thermal conductivity. This presents a meaningful way to develop Mg alloys for applications in the field of small-volume heat dissipation components that require high strength. This comprehensive review begins by outlining standard testing and prediction methods, followed by the theoretical models used to predict thermal conductivity, and then explores the primary influencing factors affecting thermal conductivity. The review summarizes the current development status of Mg alloys, focusing on the quest for alloys that offer both high thermal conductivity and high strength. It concludes by providing insights into forthcoming prospects and challenges within this field.

随着信息技术的发展,社交媒体已经成为投资者进行决策的重要参考依据。然而关于社交媒体的已有研究大多从单向信息供给角度进行分析,较少涉及社交媒体最突出的“社交”功能。本文基于社交媒体平台中投资者信息交互的实验环境,以股价同步性作为衡量市场定价效率的指标,考察投资者之间双向信息交互能否提高市场定价效率。研究发现,投资者信息交互强度与股价同步性显著负相关。机制分析表明,社交媒体不只是信息传递,而且可以进行信息交互,提高投资者信息获取与处理的能力,促使公司特质信息融入股价,因此降低股价同步性。进一步地,投资者信息交互的“质量”越高,对股价同步性降低的效果越显著。本文基于社交媒体亿级细颗粒度数据,将个体社交媒体信息交互这一重要的投资者学习行为纳入理性预期均衡框架,从研究视角上进一步完善了理性预期均衡假设,对促进中国资本市场高质量发展具有重要意义。

China currently has the highest acid deposition globally, yet research on its status, impacts, causes and controls is lacking. Here, we compiled data and calculated critical loads regarding acid deposition. The results showed that the abatement measures in China have achieved a sharp decline in the emissions of acidifying pollutants and a continuous recovery of precipitation p H, despite the drastic growth in the economy and energy consumption. However, the risk of ecological acidification and eutrophication showed no significant decrease. With similar emission reductions, the decline in areas at risk of acidification in China(7.0%) lags behind those in Europe(20%) or the USA(15%). This was because, unlike Europe and the USA, China's abatement strategies primarily target air quality improvement rather than mitigating ecological impacts. Given that the area with the risk of eutrophication induced by nitrogen deposition remained at 13%of the country even under the scenario of achieving the dual targets of air quality and carbon dioxide mitigation in 2035, we explored an enhanced ammonia abatement pathway. With a further 27% reduction in ammonia by 2035, China could largely eliminate the impacts of acid deposition. This research serves as a valuable reference for China's future acid deposition control and for other nations facing similar challenges.

Garnet-type solid-state batteries(SSBs)are considered to be one of the most promising candidates to realize next-generation lithium metal batteries with high energy density and safety.However,the dendrite-induced short-circuit and the poor interfacial contact impeded the practical application.Herein,interface engineering to achieve low interfacial resistance without high temperature calcination was developed,which Li_(6.4)La_(3)Zr_(1.4)Ta_(0.6)O_(12)(LLZTO)was simply coated with complex hydride(Li_(4)(BH_(4))_(3)I(3L1L))in various mass ratios n(Li_(4)(BH_(4))_(3)I)-(100−n)LLZTO(10≤n≤40).The interfacial conductivity increases by more than three orders of magnitude from 8.29×10^(−6)S·cm^(−1)to 1.10×10^(−2)S·cm^(−1).Symmetric Li cells exhibit a high critical current density(CCD)of 4.0 mA·cm^(−2) and an excellent cycling stability for 200 h at 4.0 mA·cm^(−2).SSBs with polymeric sulfur-polyacrylonitrile(SPAN)cathode achieve a high discharge capacity of 1149 mAh·g^(−1) with a capacity retention of 91%after 100 cycles(0.2 C).This attempt guides a simple yet efficient strategy for obtaining a stable Li/LLZTO interface,which would promote the development of solid-state batteries.

Red blood cells(RBC)' flickering present the dynamic properties of the cytomembrane. Its complexity could be used for aging analysis or the evaluation for the storage quality. The flickering activity is a kind of reversible perpendicular motion of the specified pixel. Therefore, the complexity analysis depends on the reliable detection of temporal variation for the gray-scale values from each pixel of the cells. In this paper, we improved our previous work on the screening of the horizontal drifted cells with a surface based on cell registration method and the effect of GSM exposure to the dynamic properties of the RBCs in terms of multi-scale sample entropy was presented in the paper.

Objective: Few studies have explored the suitability of endometrial thickness (EMT) as a predictor of ectopic pregnancy (EP) in frozen embryo transfer (FET) cycles. Our study aimed to investigate the association between EMT and EP and explore the cutoff value of EMT to predict EP.Methods: This retrospective cohort study included women aged 20-45 years undergoing FET between March 2015 and September 2021. The primary outcomes and measured variables were EP and EMT, respectively. The threshold effect of EMT on EP was calculated based on a constructed smooth curve fitting. The patients were divided into two groups based on the threshold for comparison. A subgroup analysis was conducted to examine whether the relationship between EMT and EP remained consistent across the different subgroups. Additionally, a generalized linear model was used to analyze the interactions between the treatment factors and EMT in EP.Results: In total, 27,549 FET cycles were included, with 27,086 intrauterine and 463 ectopic pregnancies. The risk of EP in the EMT ≤8.7 mm group was 3.36 times higher than that in the EMT >8.7 mm group (odds ratio [OR]: 3.36, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 2.57-4.05). Subgroup analysis further indicated that a thin EMT was a risk factor for EP, independent of other risks. We also noted that diminished ovarian reserve, tubal factor infertility, transfer of two embryos, or transfer of cleavage-stage embryos may further enhance the risk of EP in patients with thin endometrium.Conclusions: Thin endometrium was associated with an increased risk of EP. Patients with EMT less than 8.7 mm need close medical observation and management after embryo transfer. In addition, diminished ovarian reserve, tubal factor infertility, transfer of two embryos, or transfer of cleavage-stage embryos may significantly enhance the effect of a thin endometrium on the risk of EP.

体自由度颤振频率低,参与颤振的模态频率在亚临界状态往往已经极为接近,加之基于大气紊流激励的颤振飞行试验数据信噪比通常较低,增加了体自由度颤振飞行试验模态辨识以及颤振预测的难度。对此提出了一种基于Matrix Pencil模态辨识方法的体自由度颤振预测方法。通过随机减量技术对输出响应信号进行系集平均,得到随机衰减标记;运用Matrix Pencil方法拟合随机衰减标记获取模态参数,并通过频率和阻尼稳定判据筛选真实模态,再通过阻尼比与颤振稳定性判据变量外插获取颤振点。通过对仿真数据与试验数据的应用,可得到以下结论:Matrix Pencil模态辨识方法能有效辨识密集的颤振模态,并获得清晰的模态辨识稳态图。基于阻尼比及稳定性判据变量外插获得的颤振预测结果较为合理,其中DTFM(Discrete-Time Flutter Margin)判据变量的下降趋势更明显,外插结果与试验值更接近。该方法适用于体自由度颤振飞行试验的亚临界预测。

Clinical comprehensive treatment protocol for managing diabetic foot ulcers:A retrospective cohort study

BACKGROUND Diabetic foot ulcers(DFUs)are a common complication of diabetes,often leading to severe infections,amputations,and reduced quality of life.The current standard treatment protocols for DFUs have limitations in promoting efficient wound healing and preventing complications.A comprehensive treatment approach targeting multiple aspects of wound care may offer improved outcomes for patients with DFUs.The hypothesis of this study is that a comprehensive treatment protocol for DFUs will result in faster wound healing,reduced amputation rates,and improved overall patient outcomes compared to standard treatment protocols.AIM To compare the efficacy and safety of a comprehensive treatment protocol for DFUs with those of the standard treatment protocol.METHODS This retrospective study included 62 patients with DFUs,enrolled between January 2022 and January 2024,randomly assigned to the experimental(n=32)or control(n=30)group.The experimental group received a comprehensive treatment comprising blood circulation improvement,debridement,vacuum sealing drainage,recombinant human epidermal growth factor and anti-inflammatory dressing,and skin grafting.The control group received standard treatment,which included wound cleaning and dressing,antibiotics administration,and surgical debridement or amputation,if necessary.Time taken to reduce the white blood cell count,number of dressing changes,wound healing rate and time,and amputation rate were assessed.RESULTS The experimental group exhibited significantly better outcomes than those of the control group in terms of the wound healing rate,wound healing time,and amputation rate.Additionally,the comprehensive treatment protocol was safe and well tolerated by the patients.CONCLUSION Comprehensive treatment for DFUs is more effective than standard treatment,promoting granulation tissue growth,shortening hospitalization time,reducing pain and amputation rate,improving wound healing,and enhancing quality of life.
