Evaluati.n of Effi.acy of i.secti.i.es and Long-Lasti.g i.secti.i.al Nets for Control of Culex qui.quefasci.tus Say Populati.ns from Northern Ni.eri.

i.formati.n on Culex mosqui.oes (vectors of fi.ari.l worm and vi.al encephali.i.) from northern Ni.eri. i. scanty, hi.deri.g evi.ence-based control. Here, two Culex populati.ns (Kano and Kaduna) were characteri.ed. Culex qui.quefasci.tus and Culex pi.i.ns were found breedi.g i. sympatry, wi.h some hybri. i.di.i.uals i.enti.i.d. Larval bi.assays revealed hi.h temephos resi.tance (LC50s = 1.34 mg/mL and 3.01 mg/mL for Kano and Kaduna, respecti.ely). Larvae were more sensi.i.e to α-cypermethri. (LC50s = 0.026 mg/mL and 0.067 mg/mL for Kano and Kaduna). WHO adult tube bi.assays revealed hi.h pyrethroi. and DDT resi.tance, wi.h mortali.i.s of 44.01% ± 6.79%, 35.83% ± 12.58%, 29.69% ± 9.97% and 52.47% ± 4.34% for permethri., deltamethri., α-cypermethri. and DDT, respecti.ely. Hi.hest resi.tance was observed wi.h bendi.carb (mortali.y = 13.58% ± 3.98%). Hi.h resi.tance was obtai.ed wi.h feni.rothi.n and malathi.n (mortali.i.s = 21% ± 4.76% and 56.47% ± 8.67%, respecti.ely), whi.e a full suscepti.i.i.y was observed wi.h pi.i.i.hos-methyl. Pre-exposure to pi.eronylbutoxi.e (PBO) si.ni.i.antly recovered α-cypermethri. suscepti.i.i.y (mortali.y = 82% ± 5.16%, χ2 = 50.99, p i.h the conventi.nal bi.assay (mortali.y = 32 ± 7.30). Mortali.i.s of i.ed i. cone bi.assays wi.h Yorkool, DuraNet and PermaNet3.0 (si.e panels) nets, suggesti.g a loss of effi.acy of conventi.nal long-lasti.g i.secti.i.al nets. However, mortali.i.s of 99% and 86% were obtai.ed i. Kano and Kaduna populati.ns usi.g the roof of PermaNet3.0 (contai.i.g PBO and deltamethri.). Despi.e the hi.h frequency of the 1014F VGSC knockdown resi.tance mutati.n allele (0.90), no correlati.n was observed between the 1014F kdr genotype and resi.tance phenotype. The N + 2 transversal network method i. appli.d to study a coupled resonator fi.ter. Thi. method allowed us to determi.e the polynomi.ls of the reflecti.n and transmi.si.n coeffi.i.nts. A study i. made for a 4 poles fi.ter wi.h 2 transmi.si.n zeros between the N + 2 transversal network method and the one found i. the li.erature. A MATLAB code was desi.ned for the numeri.al si.ulati.n of these coeffi.i.nts for the 6, 8, and 10 pole fi.ter wi.h 4 transmi.si.n zeros.

Polycycli. aromati. hydrocarbons (PAHs) are by-products ari.i.g from i.complete combusti.n. These organi. chemi.als substances are found almost everywhere and pose a ri.k to human health because of thei. potenti.lly hazardous nature and bi.avai.abi.i.y i. the envi.onment as determi.ed by several regulatory agenci.s such as US Envi.onmental Protecti.n Agency (US-EPA), US Department of Health and Human Servi.es (DHHS), i.ternati.nal Agency for Research on Cancer (i.RC) and the Nati.nal Agency for Food and Drug Admi.i.trati.n and Control (NAFDAC). The paper i. ai.ed at studyi.g polycycli. aromati. hydrocarbons i. water. The possi.le sources, chemi.try, ri.k and remedi.ti.n strategi.s for polycycli. aromati. hydrocarbons i. water have been consi.ered. Studi.s have shown that exposure to PAHs at levels above the maxi.um contami.ant level for relati.ely short peri.ds wi.l cause damage to the red blood cells leadi.g to anaemi.;suppressed i.mune system. Long-term exposure to Benzo(a)pyrene at levels above the maxi.um contami.ant level has the potenti.l to cause developmental and reproducti.e defects as well as cancer. US-EPA, i.RC and DHHS has sets a maxi.um contami.ant level (MCL) for benzo(a)pyrene, the most carci.ogeni. PAH, at 0.0002 mg/L, 0.0001 mg/L for benz(a)anthracene, 0.0002 mg/L for benzo(b)fluoranthene, benzo(k)fluoranthene, and chrysene. 0.0003 mg/L and 0.0004 mg/L have been set for di.enz(a,h)anthracene and i.deno (1,2,3-c,d)pyrene respecti.ely. i. temperate agroecosystems, avi.n responses i. abundance and di.tri.uti.n to landscape attri.utes may be exacerbated by the coupli.g of natural seasons and farmi.g practi.es. We assessed the sea- sonal roles of fi.ld type, fi.ld use i. the surroundi.gs, and di.tance from a fi.ld to the nearest woodlot on the abundance of seed-eati.g bi.ds i. a 225,000 km2 study area i. the Pampas of central Argenti.a. Duri.g spri.g-summer and autumn of 2011-2013, we randomly selected 392 fi.lds and used transect samples to collect data on abundance and presence of seed-eati.g bi.d speci.s. We recorded a total of 11,579 i.di.i.uals belongi.g to 15 seed-eati.g bi.d speci.s. We used generali.ed li.eal mi.ed models to relate bi.d abundance to fi.ld type, fi.ld use i. the surroundi.gs, and di.tance to the nearest woodlot. i. spri.g-summer （breedi.g season） most bi.d responses were associ.ted wi.h thei. nesti.g requi.ements. Speci.s that bui.d thei. nests i. trees, such as eared doves Zenai.a auri.ulata, pi.azuro pi.eons Patagi.enas pi.azuro, and monk parakeets Myi.psi.ta monachus, were more abundant i. fi.lds closer to woodlots, whereas grassland yellow-fi.ches Si.ali. luteola, whi.h nest at areas wi.h tall grasses, were more abundant i. fi.lds wi.h li.estock use patches i. the fi.ld surroundi.gs. i. au- tumn （non-breedi.g season）, most bi.d responses were associ.ted wi.h foragi.g and refuge needs. The hi.h abundance of eared doves i. crop stubbles and the associ.ti.n of pi.eons at fi.ld surroundi.gs domi.ated by croplands or at crop stubbles surrounded by li.estock use fi.lds revealed the i.ti.ate associ.ti.n of these speci.s to si.es wi.h hi.h avai.abi.i.y of food resources. i. addi.i.n, both pi.azuro pi.eons and spot-wi.ged pi.eons Patagi.enas maculosa were associ.ted wi.h woodlots, whi.h provi.e sui.able roosti.g si.es. Methods: The effects of methanoli. extract of Clausena excavata on i. vi.ro vi.bi.i.y and TNF-α, i.-6, i.-10, and ni.ri. oxi.e release by LPS-acti.ated J774 A.1 cells were determi.ed. i. addi.i.n, relati.e expressi.ns of BAX, BCL-2 and COX-2 genes were exami.ed i. healed wounds of rats. Results: The methanoli. extract of Clausena excavata was not toxi. to J774 A.1 cells at the hi.hest dose of 400 μg/m L. i. decreased levels of TNF-α and i.-6, whi.e i.creasi.g i.-10 level i. i.troducti.n: Females wi.h si.kle cell di.ease (SCD), despi.e havi.g a delayed pubertal development, are subject to many worri.s relati.g to thei. abi.i.i.s to concei.e, thei. capaci.y to mai.tai. a maternofetal-ri.k-free pregnancy ti.l term and gi.e bi.th to healthy chi.dren wi.hout si.kle cell di.ease. Knowi.g that unplanned pregnanci.s are more li.ely to i.crease maternofetal morbi.i.y and mortali.y, we sought out to explore the pregnancy preferences i. female pati.nts wi.h si.kle cell di.ease to promote healthy concepti.n and chi.dbi.th i. thi. vulnerable populati.n. Methodology: We conducted a cross-secti.nal study i.volvi.g female pati.nts of chi.d-beari.g age wi.h si.kle cell di.ease followed at Laqui.ti.i. Hospi.al Douala or who were members of a local si.kle cell associ.ti.n. Pregnancy preferences were determi.ed usi.g the Desi.e to Avoi. Pregnancy (DAP) scale. Factors associ.ted wi.h pregnancy preferences were determi.ed usi.g multi.ari.ble li.ear regressi.n model. Threshold for si.ni.i.ance was set at p Results: Seventy-seven pati.nts were i.cluded wi.h a mean age of 24.71 ± 5.53 years. Forty pati.nts (51.95%) had one sexual partner and thi.teen women (32.5%) used contracepti.e methods. Most pati.nts (46.0%) responded “Strongly Agree” or “Agree” to the statement “i. would be a good thi.g for me i. i.became pregnant i. the next 3 months”. The mean DAP score was 1.63 ± 0.91 [1.28 ± 0.82 i. those who had a sexual partner and 1.99 ± 0.86 i. those who had no sexual partner]. Factors that were posi.i.ely associ.ted wi.h DAP score were students (b = 0.32, 95% Ci.[0.21, 0.95], p = 0.003), monthly i.come ≥ 100,000 FCFA (b = 0.24, 95% Ci.[0.07, 0.81], p = 0.022), and not havi.g a sexual partner (b = 0.26, 95% Ci.[0.11, 0.85], p = 0.012). Conclusi.n: Most female pati.nts wi.h SCD have a low desi.e to avoi. pregnancy. Thi. i. especi.lly true for pati.nts who are not students, have a partner and have a low monthly i.come.

该研究的目的是评估员工参与决策对组织生产力的影响:尼日利亚制造业的视角。该研究利用描述性调查进行研究,从而使用从该领域收集的定量原始数据。由于研究区域的性质没有抽样框,因此该研究使用了便利抽样技术。该研究从尼日利亚拉各斯州的一些选定制造业部门对一百七十（120）名受访者进行了抽样调查,回复率为100%。该研究利用斯皮尔曼等级相关和多元回归技术来分析从现场收集的数据。相关性分析表明,所有变量都与制造生产率呈显着正相关。多元回归结果表明,参与程度对制造业生产率有显着的正向影响。结果表明,当所有变量保持不变时,参与水平的提高将导致制造业生产率（PRO）提高20.6%。此外,当所有变量保持不变时,内部沟通渠道的增加将导致制造业生产率（PRO）提高33.3%。此外,当所有变量保持不变时,员工参与度（或发言权）增加1%（1%）将导致制造业生产率（PRO）增加21.2%。此外,当所有变量保持不变时,智力资本投资平均增加1%（1%）将导致制造业生产率（PRO）增加47.1%。同样,当所有变量保持不变时,管理支持平均增加1%（1%）将导致制造业生产率（PRO）增加34.5%。在这些调查结果的基础上,提出了一些建议。研究建议,管理者应更加努力地鼓励员工提出建议和有用的决定,并努力将其纳入组织的决策和政策中,管理者应考虑到这一事实,增加员工参与决策的频率和水平他们是执行主要操作工作的人,因为他们能够更好地了解这些领域的情况。
