This paper presents an investigation on the self-focusing/defocusing of chirped Gaussian laser beam in collisional plasma with linear absorption. We have derived the differential equation for the beam width parameter by using WKB and paraxial approximations and solved it numerically. The effect of chirp and other laser plasma parameters is seen on the behavior of beam width parameter with dimensionless distance of propagation. The results are discussed and presented graphically. Our simulation results show that the amplitude of oscillations decreases with the distance of propagation. Due to collisional frequency, the laser beam shows fast divergence which can be minimized by the introduction of chirp parameter. The chirp decreases the effect of defocusing and increases the ability of self-focusing of laser beam in collisional plasma.

Density transition based self-focusing of cosh-Gaussian laser beam in plasma with linear absorption has been studied. The field distribution in the plasma is expressed in terms of beam width parameter, decentered parameter,and linear absorption coefficient. The differential equation for the beam width parameter is solved by following Wentzel–Kramers–Brillouin(WKB) and paraxial approximation through parabolic wave equation approach. The behaviour of beam width parameter with dimensionless distance of propagation is studied at optimum values of plasma density,decentered parameter and with different absorption levels in the medium. The results reveal that these parameters can affect the self-focusing significantly.

A comparative study of the Precambrian Sonakhan(SGB)and Mahakoshal(MGB)greenstones belts of Central India has been undertaken to decipher their provenance,paleoweathering,paleogeography,and *** compared to the Upper Continental Crust(UCC),the MGB samples are enriched while the SGB samples are depleted in mafic elements indicating the presence of mafic rocks in the source of the *** is complemented by the Ni–Cr *** REE concentrations,LREE fractionated patterns and negative Eu anomalies of the MGB and SGB samples indicate derivation of sediments from a highly fractionated granitic *** MGB samples also contain the geochemical signature of mafic rocks,it is,therefore proposed that the MGB clastic load were derived from two sources(mafic+felsic)with arc *** is attested by Cr and Zr relationships,and LILE enrichment,and HFSE *** features suggest that the SGB developed as autochthonous while the MGB developed as an allochthonous *** chemical alteration indices such as chemical index of alteration(CIA),plagioclase index of alteration(PIA),and index of compositional variability for MGB samples indicate that they were dominantly derived as the first cycle(with minor recycled)sediments from bimodal sources(dominantly continental arcs)by intense chemical weathering as compared to the SGB samples,which were derived from felsic sources(dominantly cratonic rocks),and partly by recycling through a low chemical *** CIA and PIA values of the samples reveal a change in the climatic conditions from Late Archean to Late *** change is interpreted in terms of migration of the Indian plate from high latitudes in the Late Archean to lower latitudes during the Late *** is consistent with the paleomagnetic data that placed India in the configuration of 2.45 Ga Ur and 1.78 Ga Columbia supercontinents.

This work reveals an exploration of self-focusing of Hermite-cosine-Gaussian laser beam in a collisionless plasma under relativistic nonlinearity. Self-focusing along with self-trapping of Hermite-cosine-Gaussian laser beam are analyzed for different values of laser intensity, plasma density, and decentered parameters. Mathematical analysis displays that these parameters play a major role in achieving the stronger and earlier self-focusing. Further, a comparative study between self-focusing of Hermite-cosine-Gaussian laser beam with and without exponential density ramp profile is introduced. Plasma density transition with exponential profile is found to be more effective in order to have stronger self-focusing. The present analysis may lead to very useful applications in the field of efficient harmonic generation, laser driven fusion etc.

Enhanced photocatalytic degradation of organic dyes from aqueous environment using neodymium-doped mesoporous layered double hydroxide

Neodymium-doped Zn-Al layered double hydroxide(Nd/Zn-Al LDH) with excellent photocatalytic activity was prepared by a one-step hydrothermal method. The morphology and physicochemical properties of as-synthesized photocatalysts were well analyzed by Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR), X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), transmission electron microscopy(TEM), photoluminescence(PL), UV-diffuse reflectance spectroscopy(UV-DRS), and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller(BET)surface analysis. Doping Nd^(3+) into Zn-Al LDH enhances the overall catalytic activity of the nanocomposite, like better electron-hole pair separation, increase in interplanar distance, fast electron transfer, and large surface area. The as-prepared nanocomposite shows excellent degradation of three different dyes under visible light irradiation. The degradation efficiency of these dyes follows the order of Congo red > rose Bengal > fast green. Furthermore, liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry(LC-MS)was employed to propose a possible photocatalytic degradation pathway for Congo Red and Rose Bengal dyes by Nd/Zn-Al LDH. With the help of radical trapping experiments, it is revealed that during the photoexcitation process, the primary reactive intermediates are hydroxyl radicals.

The overwhelming use of rat models in nerve regeneration studies is likely to induce skewness in treatment *** address the problem,this study was conducted in 8 adult guinea pigs of either sex to investigate the suitability of guinea pig as an alternative model for nerve regeneration studies.A crush injury was inflicted to the sciatic nerve of the left limb,which led to significant decrease in the pain perception and neurorecovery up to the 4th *** of foot print and shortening of toe spread were observed in the paw after nerve injury.A 3.49 ± 0.35 fold increase in expression of neuropilin 1（NRP1） gene and 2.09 ± 0.51 fold increase in neuropilin 2（NRP2） gene were recorded 1 week after nerve injury as compared to the normal *** of gastrocnemius muscle weight and volume of the experimental limb to control limb showed more than 50% decrease on the 30 th ***,vacuolated appearance of the nerve was observed with presence of degenerated myelin debris in digestion *** muscle also showed degenerative *** electron microscopy revealed loose and rough arrangement of connective tissue fibrils and presence of large spherical globules in crushed sciatic *** findings suggest that guinea pigs could be used as an alternative animal model for nerve regeneration studies and might be preferred over rats due to their cooperative nature while recording different parameters.

Apple pomace,a by-product of the apple juice processing industry,is significant agro-based waste in the Union Territory of Jammu&Kashmir,India.A considerable amount of apple is processed for juice production,resulting in a surplus of apple pomace,which is generally *** study utilized apple pomace as a substrate matrix for producing pullulan by applying Aureobasidium pullulans MTCC ***-state fermentation was done at a lab scale in Erlenmeyer flasks to produce this *** suitable conditions for solid-state fermentation of apple pomace were:a solid-liquid ratio of 1:4,inoculum volume of 3 mL,pH 6 and incubation time of 14 days.A yield of 42 mg/g dw was obtained in the control sample without adding any other nutrients or *** addition of yeast extract at a concentration of 1%(w/w)and sucrose(5%w/w)significantly(p<0.05)increased the yield to 62 mg/g dw and 75 mg/g dw,*** purified pullulan had similar characteristics to that of standard pullulan,as confirmed by ATR-FTIR,H NMR and TLC *** production from apple pomace can be a better way to utilize this by-product from the apple juice *** will be a cost-effective technique for pullulan production as an inexpensive substrate and an environmentally friendly approach are also used.

AIM： To systematically examine the extent of correlation of risk factors, such as age, consumed dietary habit and familial predisposition with somatic Tp53 molecular lesion causal to elevate carcinogenesis severity of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma （ESCC） among the Kashmiri population of Northern India. METHODS： All cases （n = 51） and controls （n = 150） were permanent residents of the Kashmir valley. Genetic alterations were determined in exons 5-8 of Tp53 tumor suppressor gene among 45 ESCC cases histologically confirmed by PCR-SSCP analysis. Data for individual cancer cases （n = 45） and inpatient controls （n = 150） with non-cancer disease included information on family history of cancer, thirty prevailing common dietary risk factors along with patient＇s age group. Correlation of genetic lesion in p53 exons to animistic data from these parameters was generated by Chi-square test to all 45 histologically confirmed ESCC cases along with healthy controls.RESULTS： Thirty-five of 45 （77.8%） histologically characterized tumor samples had analogous somatic mutation as opposed to 1 of 45 normal sample obtained from adjacent region from the same patient showed gerrnline mutation. The SSCP analysis demonstrated that most common p53 gene alterations were found in exon 6 （77.7%）, that did not correlate with the age of the individual and clinicopathological parameters but showed significant concordance （P 〈 0.05） with familial history of cancer （CD = 58）, suggesting germline predisposition at an unknown locus, and dietary habit of consuming locally grown Brassica vegetable ＂Hakh＂（CD = 19.5）, red chillies （CD = 20.2）, hot salty soda tea （CD = 2.37） and local baked bread （CD = 1.1）. CONCLUSION： Our study suggests that somatic chromosomal mutations, especially in exon 6 of Tp53 gene, among esophageal cancer patients of an ethnically homogenous population of Kashmir valley are closely related to continued exposure to various common dietary risk factors, especially hot sa
