Results of the Management of Urogenital Fistulae from Community Caravans

Objective: To report the experience of surgical caravans for urogenital fistulas care. Methodology: This was a retrospective study covering the period from January 2014 to December 2014 and which took place on 7 sites of fistula care. The epidemiological, anatomoclinical, therapeutic and evolutionary aspects were studied. Results: 346 patients were operated during 14 caravans. Their average age was 33.11 years (range: 12 to 70 years). Most of these patients were without remunerative activities (80%) and without education (63.3%). The average duration of fistula progression was 6.08 years (range: 0 to 42 years). Obstetrical etiology was predominant (87.9%). According to the classification of Kees Waaldijk, fistulas were divided into type I (67.4%), type II (21.1%), and type III (11.5%). The most common surgical approach was the transvaginal route (82.1%). The vesicovaginal splitting with separated suture of the bladder and the vagina was the basic technique (94.7%). The therapeutic results were judged after a follow-up of 1 month and 3 months. Across the cohort, 80 patients (23.1%) were lost of sight for follow-up at 1 month and 245 (70%) at 3 months. The success rates evaluated in patients reviewed at 1 month and 3 months were respectively 70% and 64%. Conclusion: The incidence of urogenital fistulas is still high in Cote d'Ivoire. Various anatomoclinical varieties have been identified and treated with satisfactory results in poorly equipped local structures.

Characterization of Digestates from Anaerobic Co-Digestion of Manioc Effluent, Human Urine and Cow Dung

This study focused on the characterization of digestates resulting from anaerobic digestion of manioc effluents from attiéké factories. Two types of digestate were characterized, one consisting of manioc effluent + urine and another composed of manioc effluent + urine + cow dung. As a result, these residues of bio-digestion rich in nutrients (NPK) can be used as agricultural fertilizer. Moreover, the determination of some microorganisms and heavy metals digestates allowed to better appreciate its fertilizing quality. These parameters remained in accordance with the quality standards of a digestate prescribed. These results show that digestates from anaerobic co-digestion of manioc effluents, urine and cow dung can be used without fear as an agricultural biofertilizer.

Microbiological and chemical hazards of commercial attieke (a fermented cassava product) produced in the south of Côte d’Ivoire

Objectives:Information on the distribution and presence of microbiology and chemical hazard of commercial attieke(a fermented cassava product)produced in the south of Côte d’Ivoire were *** and Methods:Microbiological analyses and chemical were carried out,which included the total viable bacteria,Staphylococcus aureus,Salmonella and Bacillus spores,heavy metal(pb,Cd,Mn,Fe,Cu,and Cr).Results and Conclusions:The results revealed that the viable bacteria counts ranged from in all of *** aureus counts in the samples were comprised between(1.8±0.4)10^(2)(Jacqueville localitie)and(4.3±1.8)10^(3)(Abidjan localitie).While that of Bacillus cereus was ranged from(1.1±0.9)10^(2)(Adzopélocalitie)and(5.1±3.2)10^(2)(Abidjan localitie).Salmonella *** not *** levels of Pb in all samples were between 2.2±0.1 mg/kg(Grand-lahou localitie)and 4.5 mg/kg±0.15(Abidjan localitie)while the Cd levels of the samples varied between 0.02±0.1 mg/kg(Adzopélocalitie)and 0.07±0.1 mg/kg(Divo localitie).The levels of Cr in the samples were comprised between 0.1±0.03 mg/kg(Adzopélocalitie)and 0.95±0.1 mg/kg(Abidjan localitie)while Fe(7.3±1.5 mg/kg)and Cu(1.7±0.2 mg/kg)levels were the highest,respectively in Sikensi and Grand-Lahou *** from Divo localitie contained high amounts of Mn(1.6±0.1 mg/kg).The occurrence of some microbiological and chemical hazard that commercial attieke collected in Cote d’Ivoire may act as a reservoir of pathogenic micro-organisms and heavy metal for human.

This study focused on the transfer of experimental results of anaerobic digestion of liquid waste from an attiéké (steamed cassava semolina) factory to a 6 m3 pilot digester. The experimental digester and the pilot were powered as follows: Lw + U + C (liquid waste + urine + cow dung). To the results, the experimental digester mesophilic with a progressive elimination of COD. Also, the nitrogen concentrations in the experimental reactor had little removal with alkaline pH. As for the biogas product in this digester, a volume of 3.6 m3 was obtained with a positive flammability test. The transition from the laboratory scale to the semi-industrial scale retains the results of purification and fuel biogas production of the experimental digester.

Qualitative Assessment and Typology of the Water Resource Used for the Production of Drinking Water in Duékoué, Western Côte d’Ivoire

The objective of this study was to evaluate the typology of water through physicochemical and bacteriological characterization with the aim of highlighting its vulnerability as a drinking water resource. The methodology adopted was to evaluate the level of pollution by monitoring the spatiotemporal variation of the water pollution indicator levels of Lake Dohou. The sampling frequency is monthly for one year, from November 2017 to October 2018, in order to obtain a fairly representative image of water quality and its seasonal evolution in eight (8) well-defined stations. The parameters were determined using the standard methods defined by the French Association for Standardization (AFNOR). This study shows that the waters are acidic, with an average pH of 5.81 and a low electrical conductivity of between 42.67 ± 4.30 and 59.62 ± 21.84 μ***-1. At all stations, seasonal mean water transparencies are low (<1 m). It is also noted that 99.7% of the water samples collected had total nitrogen (TN) levels above the limit of 4 mg.L-1. All of the lake’s waters have non-compliant BOD5 (2.L-1) for raw water intended for the production of drinking water. Sites D6 and D7 have COD/BOD5 ratio greater than 3, which indicates the presence of non-biodegradable organic matter in these areas. Total coliforms, Escherichia coli and Enterococci were present in 100% (28/28) water samples at concentrations ranging from 2300 to 173,000 CFU/100 mL, from 100 to 1650 CFU/100 mL and from 20 to 1140 CFU 1/100 mL respectively. For Salmonella pathogens, they were detected in 50% of the dry season samples and in 100% of the rainy season samples. This almost permanent presence of this pathogenic germ denotes a poor quality of water with reference to this parameter. The presence of total coliform and other microbial contaminants suggests that supplied water is highly contaminated with pathogens and great reservoirs for them. Follow Up of Hypertensive Patients at Regional Hospital of Bafoussam, West Cameroon: Biochemical Profiles in Naive and Hypotensive Drug Treated Patients

Objective: The aim of this work was to study the effects of antihypertensive therapies on certain metabolic parameters in hypertensive patients. Methods: A cross-sectional and analytical study conducted within the Bafoussam Re-gional Hospital on 343 patients including 99 normotensives and 244 hyperten-sives distributed in 71 patients naive to treatment and 173 patients under treatment (84 under monotherapy, 67 under bitherapy and 21 under trithera-py). The antihypertensive medications were recorded from the medical records. A questionnaire survey was administered to study participants and potential risk factors for hypertension sought. Blood and urine samples were collected for lipid, renal and hepatic disorder analysis. Two blood pressure measure-ments enabled us to diagnose hypertensive patients. Measurements of bio-chemical parameters such as total cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, triglycerides, creatinine, glucose, aspartate aminotransferase (ASAT), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), potassium, chloride and calcium were done in serum by methods resulting from commercial kits. Results: Cal-cium Channel Blockers were significantly associated with increases in blood potassium (odd-ratios (OR) = 8.63, p = 0.036) and sodium (OR = 0.20, p = 0.037). Angiotensin-converting enzyme/Angiotensin II receptor blockers were significantly associated with an increase in plasma activity of ASAT (OR = 0.12, p = 0.03) whereas Diuretics were significantly associated with an increase in ALAT plasma activity (OR = 0.003, p = 0.012). Dual therapies were associ-ated with highest frequencies of hypercreatininemia (41.8%) and hyperglyce-mia (44.8%) whereas hypocholesterolemia HDL (38.1%) was most observed in hypertensive patients on triple therapy. Cyber Deception Using NLP

Cyber security addresses the protection of information systems in cyberspace. These systems face multiple attacks on a daily basis, with the level of complication getting increasingly challenging. Despite the existence of multiple solutions, attackers are still quite successful at identifying vulnerabilities to exploit. This is why cyber deception is increasingly being used to divert attackers’ attention and, therefore, enhance the security of information systems. To be effective, deception environments need fake data. This is where Natural Language (NLP) Processing comes in. Many cyber security models have used NLP for vulnerability detection in information systems, email classification, fake citation detection, and many others. Although it is used for text generation, existing models seem to be unsuitable for data generation in a deception environment. Our goal is to use text generation in NLP to generate data in the deception context that will be used to build multi-level deception in information systems. Our model consists of three (3) components, including the connection component, the deception component, composed of several states in which an attacker may be, depending on whether he is malicious or not, and the text generation component. The text generation component considers as input the real data of the information system and allows the production of several texts as output, which are usable at different deception levels.
