Semiconductor/metal junctions are widely discussed in ***,there is a notable scarcity of systematic studies focusing on photogenerated charge carrier transfer in such ***,CdS/Pt,CdS/Au,and CdS/Ag are synthesized to serve as model systems for investigating the charge carrier transfer in semiconductor/metal *** probe force microscopy is employed to visualize the transfer of photogenerated carriers in these *** results show that the electron transfer behavior under illumination is related to the conduction band position of CdS and the Fermi level position of the ***,Schottky junctions hinder the transfer of photogenerated electrons from CdS to Pt and Au,whereas ohmic contacts facilitate the transfer of photogenerated electrons from CdS to *** work provides novel insights into the mechanisms governing the transfer of photogenerated carriers in semiconductor/metal junctions.

Electron donors(EDs)are widely used to improve the H 2 production performance of Schottky junction photocatalysts,but the functions of EDs are still unknown from the perspective of electron transfer ***,Pt nanocluster-decorated CdS nanorod is successfully prepared to construct a typical CdS/Pt Schottky *** nanoclusters with a diameter of∼2 nm are deposited on the surface of CdS nanorods by in situ photoreduction at sub-zero *** CdS/Pt photocatalyst using lactic acid shows a higher H_(2)production rate of 4762μmol g^(-1)h^(-1)compared to that using methanol,tri-ethanolamine,and *** understand the cause,the dynamics of photogenerated carriers in CdS/Pt photocatalysts during ED-assisted H_(2)production are revealed by femtosecond transient absorption *** the four organic EDs,lactic acid enables the fastest electron transfer rate of 1.8×10^(9)s^(-1)and the highest electron transfer efficiency of 76%at the CdS/Pt interface due to the most efficient hole *** work sheds light on the importance of efficient interfacial electron transfer for im-proving the photocatalytic performance of Schottky junction photocatalysts.

Constructing step-scheme(S-scheme)heterojunctions has become a popular strategy for efficient pho-tocatalytic H_(2)O_(2) ***,we in situ grew BiOBr nanosheets(NSs)on a Schiff-base covalent organic framework(COF)with largeπ-conjugated structures to prepare S-scheme BiOBr/COF photocat-alysts for H_(2)O_(2) *** highest photocatalytic H_(2)O_(2) production performance of the composite sample constituting the S-scheme heterojunction is 3749μmol g−1 h−1,which was 1.85 and 27 times the rates of COF and BiOBr,*** construction of S-scheme heterojunction contributed to ef-ficient carrier transfer and separation in space and enhanced redox ***,the lying-down O_(2)-adsorption configuration on the COF surface favors the concerted two-electron O_(2) reduction process,which greatly reduced the reduction potential requirement for O_(2)-to-H_(2)O_(2) *** synergy be-tween the S-scheme heterojunction and the unique O_(2)-COF interaction boosted photocatalytic H_(2)O_(2) pro-duction activity.

Circadian Rhythm and Intersexual Differences in Auditory Frequency Sensitivity in Emei Music Frogs

In anurans, calling behaviour is strongly seasonal and circadian. Previous studies have revealed that a uditory sensitivity in frogs exhibits seasonal plasticity, and electroencephalographic signals exhibit highly correlated circadian patterns;of which, the circadian rhythm remains unknown. In this study,the circadian rhythm and intersexual differences of auditory sensitivity were tested in the Emei music frog(Nidirana daunchina). This was achieved by comparing thresholds and latencies of auditory brainstem responses(ABRs) evoked by tones and clicks stimuli between male and female frogs during the day and at night,respectively. Our results revealed that both auditory thresholds and latencies had no differences between day and night except the la tencies in 3.5–4.0 kHz frequencies. However, the thresholds of tone pip evoked ABRs differed significantly between male and female frogs from 2.5 to 5.0 kHz. This demonstrated that the auditory sensitivity of Emei music frogs exhibits sexual dimorphism at high frequencies, with female frogs exhibiting greater auditory sensitivity than that of male frogs. Simultaneously, the power spectra of male advertisement calls are matched well with the frequency range of auditory sensitivity in male and female frogs,which supports the matched filter hypothesis. Our study enhances the understanding of circadian plasticity and sexual dimorphism of auditory sensitivity in frogs.

Photocatalytic H_(2)O_(2)production provides a clean and sustainable strategy for artificial ***,an inorganic/organic composite photocatalyst was fabricated by in-situ growth of CdS nanoparticles on the surface of resorcinol-formaldehyde(RF)resin *** spheres played multiple roles:(i)acting as a substrate for the growth of CdS and constructing a core-shell structure with seamless con-tact;(ⅱ)improving visible light absorption of CdS;(ⅲ)forming an S-scheme heterojunction with CdS and promoting the charge separation and ***,under visible light illumination,CdS/RF composite presented remarkably enhanced H_(2)O_(2)production *** H_(2)O_(2)yield in 60 min was 801μmol L^(-1),which was 5.2 and 1.5 times higher than that of RF spheres and CdS hollow spheres,*** charge migration between CdS and RF followed the S-scheme photocatalytic mechanism,which was verified by work function measurement,ex-situ and in-situ irradiated X-ray photoelectron *** work brings a novel insight into designing RF-based inorganic/organic S-scheme heterojunction pho-tocatalysts for efficient H_(2)O_(2)production.

Multiple Time Scale Analysis of River Runoff Using Wavelet Transform for Dagujia River Basin, Yantai, China

Based on monthly river runoff and meteorological data, a method of Morlet wavelet transform was used to analyze the multiple time scale characteristics of river runoff in the Dagujia River Basin, Yantai City, Shandong Province. The results showed that the total annual river runoffin the Dagujia River Basin decreased significantly from 1966 to 2004, and the rate of decrease was 48× 10^6ma/10yr, which was higher than the mean value of most rivers in China. Multiple time scale characteristics existed, which accounted for different aspects of the changes in annual river runoff, and the major periods of the runofftime series were identified as about 28 years, 14 years and 4 years with decreasing levels of fluctuation. The river runoff evolution process was controlled by changes in precipitation to a certain extent, but it was also greatly influenced by human activities. Also, for different time periods and scales, the impacts of climate changes and human activities on annual river runoff evolution occurred at the same time. Changes in the annual river runoffwere mainly associated with climate change before the 1980s and with human activities after 1981.

The research on using thiol-ene click reaction to synthesize sulfur-containing polymers with topological structures and advanced functional properties is a hot topic. However, the application of the thiol-yne reaction in the functional polymer preparation is limited and the thiol-yne click polymerization is to be further developed. In this review, we summarized recent research efforts on using thiol-yne click polymerization to synthesize polymers with topological structures. The sulfur-containing polymers were facilely prepared by photo-and thermo-initiated, amine-mediated, and transition-metal-catalyzed thiol-yne click polymerizations. These polymers are promising to be used as drug-delivery vehicles, high refractive index optical materials, photovoltaic materials, and biomaterials etc.

Nonclassical crystallization of zinc carbonate hydroxide hydrate nanofilm mediated by calcium ions

To satisfy the demand of zinc oxide(ZnO) with advanced muti-functional properties, significant efforts have been made in synthesizing ZnO with various structure and morphology. In particular, hydrothermal method has attracted considerable attentions, in which Zn4CO3(OH)6·H2O(ZCHH) is commonly found as a metastable precursor. However, the formation and crystallization mechanisms of ZCHH are still lacking and urgently needed. In the present study, the crystallization pathway of ZCHH was systematically investigated, and the results demonstrate that the amorphous zinc carbonate(AZC) was an even more unstable precursor. AZC nanoparticles typically aggregated to form one-dimensional(1D) ZCHH nanorods, however, two-dimensional(2D) ZCHH nanofilms were obtained in the presence of a certain concentration of calcium ion. The results suggest that calcium ions could promote the partial dissolution of AZC and facilitate the aggregation of AZC nanoparticles to form crystalline nanofilm. Moreover, 2D ZnO nanofilms could be obtained by heat treatment of the ZCHH nanofilms. The calcium ion mediated nonclassical crystallization pathway provides inspiration for fabrication of ZnO with controlled morphology and offers new opportunities for inorganic regulated material synthesis.
