Hybrid rice(Oryza sativa)generally outperforms its inbred parents in yield and stress tolerance,a phenomenon termed heterosis,but the underlying mechanism is not completely understood.Here,we combined transcriptome,proteome,physiological,and heterosis analyses to examine the salt response of super hybrid rice Chaoyou1000(CY1000).In addition to surpassing the mean values for its two parents(mid-parent heterosis),CY1000 exhibited a higher reactive oxygen species scavenging ability than both its parents(over-parent heterosis or heterobeltiosis).Nonadditive expression and allele-specific gene expression assays showed that the glutathione S-transferase gene OsGSTU26 and the amino acid transporter gene OsAAT30 may have major roles in heterosis for salt tolerance,acting in an overdominant fashion in CY1000.Furthermore,we identified OsWRKY72 as a common transcription factor that binds and regulates OsGSTU26 and OsAAT30.The salt-sensitive phenotypes were associated with the OsWRKY72^(paternal)genotype or the OsAAT30^(maternal)genotype in core rice germplasm varieties.OsWRKY72^(paternal)specifically repressed the expression of OsGSTU26 under salt stress,leading to salinity sensitivity,while OsWRKY72^(maternal)specifically repressed OsAAT30,resulting in salinity tolerance.These results suggest that the OsWRKY72-OsAAT30/OsGSTU26 module may play an important role in heterosis for salt tolerance in an overdominant fashion in CY1000 hybrid rice,providing valuable clues to elucidate the mechanism of heterosis for salinity tolerance in hybrid rice.

Analyst Coverage,Forecasting Bias,and Corporate Innovation:Evidence from China

Due to information asymmetry and strategic innovation,firms often encounter challenges related to insufficient driving forces and low-quality innovation outcomes.Analysts always act as information intermediaries who help foster the advancement of corporate innovation activities and the conversion of innovation output.This study examines the impact of analyst coverage and forecasting bias on corporate innovation,employing data from China A-shared listed firms spanning the period 2007 to 2019.We measure corporate innovation from two perspectives:Input and output.Specifically,we use the ratio of research and development(R&D)expenditure to sales as a proxy for the innovation input and the number of patent citations excluding self-citations to measure innovation output.We find that analyst coverage promotes corporate innovation,which is consistent with the“bright”side of analyst coverage.However,the positive effect of analyst coverage hinges on effectively transmitting and disclosing accurate information to investors in the capital market.Based on this,analysts'forecasting bias includes forecasting dispersion and optimism bias.We find evidence that an increase in analysts'forecast dispersion leads to a decrease in corporate innovation quality.Moreover,this paper presents a novel approach by employing the regression discontinuity method to examine the effect of analyst optimistic bias on firm innovation.The empirical findings reveal that overly optimistic forecasts by analysts exacerbate innovation quality.These analyses enrich the research on analyst coverage and corporate innovation,providing an empirical basis for improving the capital market with the help of analysts.

Global Dynamics of a Kawasaki Disease Vascular Endothelial Cell Injury Model with Backward Bifurcation and Hopf Bifurcation

Kawasaki disease（KD） is an acute, febrile, systemic vasculitis that mainly affects children under five years of age. In this paper, we propose and study a class of 5-dimensional ordinary differential equation model describing the vascular endothelial cell injury in the lesion area of KD. This model exhibits forward/backward bifurcation. It is shown that the vascular injury-free equilibrium is locally asymptotically stable if the basic reproduction number R0manent if the basic reproduction number R0> 1, and some explicit analytic expressions of ultimate lower bounds of the solutions of the model are given.Our results suggest that the control of vascular injury in the lesion area of KD is not only correlated with the basic reproduction number R0, but also with the growth rate of normal vascular endothelial cells promoted by the vascular endothelial growth factor.

The stress hormone ethylene plays a key role in plant adaptation to adverse environmental conditions.Nitrogen(N)is the most quantitatively required mineral nutrient for plants,and its availability is a major determinant for crop production.Changes in N availability or N forms can alter ethylene biosynthesis and/or signaling.Ethylene serves as an important cellular signal to mediate root system architecture adaptation,N uptake and translocation,ammonium toxicity,anthocyanin accumulation,and premature senescence,thereby adapting plant growth and development to external N status.Here,we review the ethylenemediated morphological and physiological responses and highlight how ethylene transduces the N signals to the adaptive responses.We specifically discuss the N-ethylene relations in rice,an important cereal crop in which ethylene is essential for its hypoxia survival.

Hemispherical resonator with low subsurface damage machined by small ball-end fine diamond grinding wheel:A novel grinding technique

As for the ultra-precision grinding of the hemispherical fused silica resonator,due to the hard and brittle nature of fused silica,subsurface damage(SSD)is easily generated,which enormously influences the performance of such components.Hence,ultra-precision grinding experiments are carried out to investigate the surface/subsurface quality of the hemispherical resonator machined by the small ball-end fine diamond grinding wheel.The influence of grinding parameters on the surface roughness(SR)and SSD depth of fused silica samples is then analyzed.The experimental results indicate that the SR and SSD depth decreased with the increase of grinding speed and the decrease of feed rate and grinding depth.In addition,based on the material strain rate and the maximum undeformed chip thickness,the effect of grinding parameters on the subsurface damage mechanism of fused silica samples is analyzed.Furthermore,a multi-step ultra-precision grinding technique of the hemispherical resonator is proposed based on the interaction influence between grinding depth and feed rate.Finally,the hemispherical resonator is processed by the proposed grinding technique,and the SR is improved from 454.328 nm to 110.449 nm while the SSD depth is reduced by 94%from 40μm to 2.379μm.The multi-step grinding technique proposed in this paper can guide the fabrication of the hemispherical resonator.

作为一位自1747年起从事哲学思考与著述近60年的哲学家,康德一生历经了许多重要的思想转捩点,除却休谟对其教条主义之迷梦的唤醒等这些广为人知的文化事件之外,1755年11月1日万圣节当天发生在里斯本的大地震对康德的震撼亦不容小觑。这一重大的自然事件,对康德的影响主要体现在两个方面:首先,就自然世界的认知而言,里斯本的这次灾难使得康德对自然现象的理解从侧重抽象思辨的面向转为了科学经验的维度;其次,就神义论的理解来说,康德显然不再满足于先前蒲柏式的乐观主义,而是在融合克鲁修斯思想的基础上,走向了温和的莱布尼茨式的“理智论”这一立场。在刚刚经历过“新冠”疫情的当前时代,回顾和反思自然灾难与康德思想转向之间的深层关系,无论对个人还是社会而言,均不无裨益。

宇宙论学说是康德一贯关注的哲学论题。18世纪50年代,这一论题是以宇宙起源论的面目呈现于世人面前的,康德此时重点研究的是宇宙生成、演化,以及地球是否衰老等议题。70年代以后,康德才第一次以形上学一个分支学科的名义,将宇宙论置于形上学体系中加以研究。康德之所以如此处理这一问题,无疑与沃尔夫、鲍姆嘉登等德国理性主义思想家对他的深刻影响密不可分,尤其是他们关于形上学及其支脉的划分与辨析直接决定了他对这一问题的认知,这一点在康德前批判与批判哲学时期的著作中都留下了鲜明的思想印迹。显然,揭示并表彰康德宇宙论的这一不太为人所熟知的向度,对我们全面理解康德哲学具有重要价值。

Introduction:A retrospective study based on sentinel surveillance was conducted in 10 provinciallevel administrative divisions(PLADs)in China to enhance the understanding of the epidemiological characteristics of human parainfluenza viruses(HPIVs).Methods:From January 2019 to June 2023,respiratory specimens were collected from individuals with acute respiratory infections(ARIs)and screened for four HPIVs serotypes and other common respiratory viruses using multiplex real-time polymerase chain reaction(PCR).This study analyzed the association of HPIVs infections with seasonal patterns,geographical distribution,demographic profiles,clinical features,and co-infection status.Results:During the study period,a total of 12,866 ARIs were included.The overall detection rate of HPIVs was 6.15%,varying from 5.04%in 2022 to 9.70%in 2020.The median age of HPIVs-infected patients was 3 years.HPIV2 was more prevalent among individuals aged 5–17 years(42.57%),while HPIV4 was more common in those over 65 years(12.24%).HPIV3(54.16%)and HPIV1(27.18%)were the predominant serotypes,and their prevalence exhibited significant seasonal fluctuations postcoronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic.The peak of HPIV3 shifted three months later in 2020 compared to 2019 and returned to a summer peak thereafter.Two peaks of HPIV1 were observed in 2021 following the peak of HPIV3.Additionally,coinfections were frequent in HPIVs cases(overall rate:22.12%),with human rhinovirus being the most common co-infecting virus.Conclusions:The prevalence of HPIVs in China was predominantly due to HPIV3 and HPIV1,and their seasonal patterns were altered by pandemic restrictions.Hence,continuous surveillance of HPIVs is essential.

Garnet and Zircon U-Pb Geochronology and Geochemistry Reveal Genesis of the Dafang Au-Pb-Zn-Ag Deposit,Southern Hunan

Garnet is a primary mineral in skarn deposits and plays a significant role in recording copious mineralization and metallogenic information.This study systematically investigates the geochemistry and geochronology of garnet and zircon in the Dafang Au-Pb-Zn-Ag deposit,which represents prominent gold mineralization in southern Hunan,*** samples with distinct zoning patterns and compositional variations were identified using various analytical techniques,including Backscattered Electron(BSE)imaging,Cathodoluminescence(CL)response,textural characterization,and analysis of rare-earth elements(REE),major contents,and trace element compositions.The garnet was dated U-Pb dating,which yielded a lower intercept age of 161.06±1.93 ma.This age is older than the underlying granodiorite porphyry,which has a concordia age of 155.13±0.95 ma determined by zircon U-Pb dating.These results suggest that the gold mineralization may be related to the concealed granite.Two groups of garnet changed from depleted Al garnet to enriched Al garnet,and the rare earth element(REE)patterns of these groups were converted from light REE(LREE)-enriched and heavy REE(HREE)-depleted with positive europium(Eu)anomalies to medium REE(MREE)-enriched from core to rim zoning.The different REE patterns of garnet in various zones may be attributed to changes in the fluid environment and late superposition alteration.The development of distal skarn in the southern Hunan could be a significant indicator for identifying gold mineralization.

Investigation of distribution uniformity of distributor for biogas slurry application based on CFD analysis

A horizontal distributor for biogas slurry application was proposed to explore the distribution performance through CFD analysis and verified by field test.The rheological properties of biogas slurry were analyzed at first,and key parameters were obtained for the next simulation.The effects of distribution modes,inlet direction,and outlets number on the velocity distribution of flow field and mass flow rate of the horizonal distributor were investigated by CFD simulations.Results of rheological properties indicated that biogas slurry was a non-Newtonian fluid and exhibited shear-thinning behavior.It can be well described by power-law model.The simulation results showed that the geometry of rotor,especially the block numbers was the main factor that determining the fluid movement and trajectory of distribution and output.The mode rotor 1 with two blocks reached the lowest variable coefficient of mass flow rate(4.49%),indicating a higher degree of uniformity.The upward inlet direction would obtain less dead zone,and the distributor with an even outlets number would possess more uniform distribution and less dead zone.The field test of the distributor with rotor 1,upward inlet direction,and 24 outlets has been carried on to verify the simulation results,the variable coefficient of mass flow was 13.06%,which was slightly higher than the simulation(9.23%),but it still within the range of requirement(<15%).The proposed model and the findings of this work are of guiding significance for the study of the utilization technology and equipment of liquid biogas residue.
