Background:Pancreatic solid pseudopapillary tumors(SPTs)are rare clinical entity,with low malignancy and still unclear *** account for less than 2%of exocrine pancreatic *** study aimed to perform a systematic review of the main clinical,surgical and oncological characteristics of pancreatic *** sources:MEDLINE/PubMed,Web of Science and Scopus databases were systematically searched for the main clinical,surgical and oncological characteristics of pancreatic SPTs up to April 2021,in accordance with the preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses(PRISMA)*** endpoints were to analyze treatments and oncological ***:A total of 823 studies were recorded,86 studies underwent full-text reviews and 28 met inclusion ***,1384 patients underwent pancreatic *** age was 30 years and 1181 patients(85.3%)were *** most common clinical presentation was non-specific abdominal pain(52.6%of cases).Mean overall survival was 98.1%.Mean recurrence rate was 2.8%.Mean follow-up was 4.2 ***:Pancreatic SPTs are rare,and predominantly affect young women with unclear *** resection is the gold standard of treatment achieving good oncological impact and a favorable prognosis in a yearly life-long follow-up.

Management of chronic heart failure:Role of home echocardiography in monitoring care programs

AIM:To identify a possible role of home echocardiography for monitoring chronic heart failure(CHF)***:We prospectively investigated 118 patients hospitalized during the last year for CHF who could not easily reach the pertaining District Healthcare *** patients were followed up with 2 home management programs:one including clinical and electrocardiographic evaluations and also periodic home echocardiographic examinations(group A),the other including clinical and electrocardiographic evaluations only(group B).RESULTS:At the end of the 18-mo follow-up no significant differences were observed between the 2 groups as regards the primary endpoint:rehospitalization occurred in 4 patients of the group A and in 6 patients of the group B;major cardiovascular events occurred in 2 and in 3 patients,*** significant differences were observed with respect to the secondary endpoints:one vascular event appeared in both the groups,3 cardiovascular deaths occurred in group A and 2 in group *** significant differences were observed between the 2 groups as regards the composite endpoint of death plus ***:Home echocardiography for monitoring of CHF patients does not improve the cardiovascular *** our CHF patients,a low incidence of vascular events was observed.

Statistical Analysis of Abilities to Give Consent to Health Data Processing

The recent pandemic crisis has highlighted the importance of the availability and management of health data to respond quickly and effectively to health emergencies, while respecting the fundamental rights of every individual. In this context, it is essential to find a balance between the protection of privacy and the safeguarding of public health, using tools that guarantee transparency and consent to the processing of data by the population. This work, starting from a pilot investigation conducted in the Polyclinic of Bari as part of the Horizon Europe Seeds project entitled “Multidisciplinary analysis of technological tracing models of contagion: the protection of rights in the management of health data”, has the objective of promoting greater patient awareness regarding the processing of their health data and the protection of privacy. The methodology used the PHICAT (Personal Health Information Competence Assessment Tool) as a tool and, through the administration of a questionnaire, the aim was to evaluate the patients’ ability to express their consent to the release and processing of health data. The results that emerged were analyzed in relation to the 4 domains in which the process is divided which allows evaluating the patients’ ability to express a conscious choice and, also, in relation to the socio-demographic and clinical characteristics of the patients themselves. This study can contribute to understanding patients’ ability to give their consent and improve information regarding the management of health data by increasing confidence in granting the use of their data for research and clinical management.

Waste heat recovery is one of the possible solutions to improve the efficiency of internal combustion *** of wasting the exhaust stream of an energy conversion system into the environment,its residual energy content can be usefully recovered,for example in Organic Rankine Cycles(ORC).This technology has been largely consolidated in stationary power plants but not yet for mobile applications,such as road transport,due to the limitations in the layout and to the constraints on the size and weight of the ORC *** ORC system installed on the exhaust line of a bus powered by a natural gas spark ignition engine has been *** thermal power available at engine exhaust has been evaluated by measuring gas temperature and mass flow rate during real driving *** waste thermal power has been considered as heat input for the ORC plant simulation.A detailed heat exchanger model has been developed because it is a crucial component for the ORC *** exergy analysis of the ORC was performed comparing different working fluids:R601,R1233zd(E)and two zeotropic blends of the two organic pure *** model allowed the evaluation of the ORC produced energy over the driving cycle and the potential benefit on the engine efficiency.

1 BACKGROUND The cryosphere covers a relevant portion of the Earth’s surface,playing a major role for terrestrial and marine biomes(Bosson et al.,2023;Sands et al.,2023;Anesio et al.,2017).Glacierets,glaciers and ice sheets represent together 10%of the global land surface,while the annual average maximum of snow cover during the winter accounts for up to 49%of the Northern Hemisphere’s surface (Qin,2017).Aerosols are another major component of the Earth system,playing pivotal roles in the biogeochemical cycles and in the Earth radiative mass balance (Bellouin et al.,2020;Carslaw et al.,2010).A complex network of interactions links aerosols and glaciers.

BACKGROUND The management of idiopathic scoliosis(IS)in skeletally immature patients should aim at three-dimensional deformity correction,without compromising spinal and chest *** 2019,the US Food and Drug Administration approved the first instrumentation system for anterior vertebral body tethering(AVBT),under a Humanitarian Device Exception,for skeletally immature patients with curves having a Cobb angle between 35°and 65°.AIM To summarize current evidence about the efficacy and safety of AVBT in the management of IS in skeletally immature *** From January 2014 to January 2021,Ovid Medline,Embase,Cochrane Library,Scopus,Web of Science,Google Scholar and PubMed were searched to identify relevant *** methodological quality of the studies was evaluated and relevant data were *** Seven clinical trials recruiting 163 patients were included in the present *** studies out of seven were classified as high quality,whereas the remaining two studies were classified as moderate quality.A total of 151 of 163 AVBT procedures were performed in the thoracic spine,and the remaining 12 tethering in the lumbar *** 117 of 163(71.8%)patients had a nonprogressive curve at skeletal ***-three of 163(14.11%)patients required unplanned revision surgery within the follow-up *** to posterior spinal fusion(PSF)was performed in 18 of 163(11%)*** AVBT is a promising growth-friendly technique for treatment of IS in growing ***,it has moderate success and perioperative complications,revision and conversion to PSF.

Total hip arthroplasty following the failure of intertrochanteric nailing:First implant or salvage surgery?
