Covalent adaptable networks(CANs),comprising polymer networks crosslinked by dynamic covalent bonds(DCBs),have garnered considerable attention as sustainable *** the stress relaxation of CANs is essential for controlling their viscoelastic *** unexpected acceleration of stress relaxation has been observed in CANs containing dual dynamic *** dynamic behavior of the second dynamic bonds can accelerate stress relaxation and lower the relaxation activation energy of dual dynamic CANs compared to analogous CANs that rely on only one type of *** findings complement current approaches that utilize catalysts or adjust network *** this minireview,we summarize the synergistic acceleration effects in various CANs containing dual dynamic *** classify these effects based on the second dynamic bonds,including noncovalent bonds,mechanical bonds,and the second *** also discuss the mechanisms behind this ***,we highlight the challenges and offer perspectives on harnessing the synergistic effects of these dual dynamic systems to expand the chemistry and applications of CANs.

Yolk-shell SiO2 particles(YP)with center-radial meso-channels were fabricated through a simple and effective ***-containing YP-supported NiMo catalysts with different Al amounts(NiMo/AYP-x,x=Si/Al molar proportion)were prepared and dibenzothiophene(DBT)and 4,6-dimethyl-dibenzothiophene(4,6-DMDBT)were employed as the probes to evaluate the hydrodesulfurization(HDS)catalytic *** as-prepared AYP-x carriers and corresponding catalysts were characterized by some advanced characterizations to obtain deeper correlations between physicochemical properties and the HDS *** average pore sizes of series AYP-x supports are above 6.0 nm,which favors the mass transfer of organic *** cavity between the yolk and the shell is beneficial for the enrichment of S-containing compounds and the accessibility between reactants and active *** embedded into the silica framework could facilitate the formation of Lewis(L)and Brønsted(B)acid sites and adjust the metal-support interaction(MSI).Among all the as-synthesized catalysts,NiMo/AYP-20 catalyst shows the highest HDS *** improved HDS activity of NiMo/AYP-20 catalyst is attributed to the perfect combination of excellent structural properties of the yolk-shell mesoporous silica,enhanced acidity,moderate MSI,and good accessibility/dispersion of active components.

The reaction kinetics of alloys based on magnesium are known to be greatly improved by the partial substitution of Mg with rare earths and transition metals,particularly *** enhanced superficial hydrogen dissociation rate,the weakened Mg-H bond and the lower activation energy following element replacement are thought to be related to the better *** experimental alloys Ce5Mg_(95-x)Ni_(x)(x=5,10,15)were smelted by the vacuum induction *** phase transformation and structural evolution of experimental alloys before and after reaction with hydrogen were char-acterized by X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron *** cast specimens contain CeMg_(12),Mg and Mg_(2)Ni phases,and the increase in Ni content results in an obvious growth of Mg_(2)Ni *** isothermal and non-isothermal hydrogenation and dehydrogenation kinetics of the experimental specimens were investi-gated using the Sievert apparatus,differential scanning calorimetry and thermal gravimetric *** activation energy may be calculated using the Arrhenius and Kissinger *** experimental alloys have been shown to have good activation properties,with a reversible hydriding and dehydriding capacities of around 5.0 wt.%in the first *** initial dehydrogenation temperature of MgH_(2) decreases from 557.5 to 537.7 K with changing Ni content from 5 to 15 at.%.The dehydrogenation activation energy also reduces from 77.09 to 62.96 kJ/mol,which explains the improved hydrogen storage performance caused by Ni *** can be shown that the impact of Ni on the decomposition enthalpy of MgH_(2) is quite modest,with the absolute enthalpy(ΔHr)only decreasing from 78.48 to 76.15 kJ/mol.

Four-birds-with-one-stone:A multifunctional Ti-based material for solar-driven water evaporation

Sustainable,environmentally friendly and low-energy desalination materials have important research value for the increasing demand of freshwater year by ***,it is a huge challenge to maintain high heat energy transfer efficiency without reducing the heat conversion capacity of specific solar photothermal conversion ***,their efficiency and durability are greatly limited by the problems of seawater corrosion,oil,and bacteria *** now,no related work has been reported to solve all the aforementioned problems via a simple four-birds-with-one-stone ***,a class of multifunctional porous photothermal silver(Ag)modified Ti foams(Tf-TA/Ag series materials)is prepared for the development of advanced solar water evaporation devices,and provides alternative materials for alleviating freshwater crisis and treating *** oil contact angle(OCA)changes from 41°to 180°,which significantly reduces the adhesion of *** addition,Tf-TA2/Ag sample also shows an excellent and sustained antibacterial effect,which maintains above 99.9%of antibacterial rate after repeated 5 *** surface temperature of the Tf-TA2/Ag sample reaches 52.5℃ after simulated sun irradiation for 20 min,which is significantly higher than that of the contact groups(water:36.4℃,Ti foam:38.2℃ and Tf-TA2:40.9℃).The capacity of seawater evaporation and salt removal is enhanced due to the excellent photothermal properties,low reflectance,and uniform heat dissipation *** water production efficiency of Tf-TA2/Ag sample is 1.41 kg·m^(-2)·h^(-1) in artificial seawater and 0.76 kg·m^(-2)·h^(-1) in oily sewage under simulated sun ***,the hydrophilic and oleophobic properties of Tf-TA2/Ag are critical to extracting water from oil/water mixture in diverse water ***,this four-birds-with-one-stone approach provides a new perspective for the improvement of solar seawater desalination performance.

Deep engineering disasters,such as rockbursts and collapses,are more related to the shear slip of rock joints.A novel multifunctional device was developed to study the shear failure mechanism in *** this device,the complete shearedeformation process and long-term shear creep tests could be performed on rocks under constant normal stiffness(CNS)or constant normal loading(CNL)conditions in real-time at high temperature and true-triaxial *** the research and development process,five key technologies were successfully broken through:(1)the ability to perform true-triaxial compressioneshear loading tests on rock samples with high stiffness;(2)a shear box with ultra-low friction throughout the entire stress space of the rock sample during loading;(3)a control system capable of maintaining high stress for a long time and responding rapidly to the brittle fracture of a rock sample as well;(4)a refined ability to measure the volumetric deformation of rock samples subjected to true triaxial shearing;and(5)a heating system capable of maintaining uniform heating of the rock sample over a long *** developing these technologies,loading under high true triaxial stress conditions was *** apparatus has a maximum normal stiffness of 1000 GPa/m and a maximum operating temperature of 300*** differences in the surface temperature of the sample are constant to within5*** types of true triaxial shear tests were conducted on homogeneous sandstone to verify that the apparatus has good performance and *** results show that temperature,lateral stress,normal stress and time influence the shear deformation,failure mode and strength of the *** novel apparatus can be reliably used to conduct true-triaxial shear tests on rocks subjected to high temperatures and stress.

Photoresponsive materials are considered as promising systems for intelligent technology applications owing to the contactless spatial and temporal ***,controllable multi-photoresponsive behaviors are realized in benzo[b]thiophene derivatives(o-DMP-S,o-DMP-SO,and o-DMP-SO_(2))by modulating the sulfur oxidation *** them,o-DMP-S is photo-unreactive but possesses denser molecular packing upon ultraviolet(UV)light irradiation,exhibiting photoenhanced room-temperature phosphorescence *** stoichiometric oxidation of the sulfur atom in o-DMP-S,the resulting sulfoxide compound o-DMP-SO undergoes a radical photolysis reaction involving photodeoxygenation and photochemical rearrangement,thereby leading to the photomechanical *** sulfone compound o-DMP-SO_(2)displays prominent reversible photochromism,resulting from the radical photocyclization under 365 nm UV light *** on comprehensive experimental and computational investigations,the diverse photoresponsive behaviors of these benzo[b]thiophene derivatives are demonstrated to depend on the intersystem crossing efficiency and radical-mediated photochemical reaction activity in excited states due to the different sulfur oxidation *** work provides an insightful understanding of the relationship between molecular structure and photoresponsive behavior and opens up the opportunity for the development of photoresponsive materials with potential applications.

Rational design of unrestricted pRN1 derivatives and their application in the construction of a dual plasmid vector system for Saccharolobus islandicus

Saccharolobus islandicus REY15A represents one of the very few archaeal models with versatile genetic tools,which include efficient genome editing,gene silencing,and robust protein expression ***,plasmid vectors constructed for this crenarchaeon thus far are based solely on the pRN2 cryptic *** this plasmid coexists with pRN1 in its original host,early attempts to test pRN1-based vectors consistently failed to yield any stable host-vector system for *** hypothesized that this failure could be due to the occurrence of CRISPR immunity against pRN1 in this *** identified a putative target sequence in orf904 encoding a putative replicase on pRN1(target N1).Mutated targets(N1a,N1b,and N1c)were then designed and tested for their capability to escape the host CRISPR immunity by using a plasmid inter-ference *** results revealed that the original target triggered CRISPR immunity in this archaeon,whereas all three mutated targets did not,indicating that all the designed target mutations evaded host *** mutated targets were then incorporated into orf904 individually,yielding corresponding mutated pRN1 backbones with which shuttle plasmids were constructed(pN1aSD,pN1bSD,and pN1cSD).*** transformation revealed that pN1aSD and pN1bSD were functional shuttle vectors,but pN1cSD lost the capability for *** results indicate that the missense mutations in the conserved helicase domain in pN1c inactivated the *** further showed that pRN1-based and pRN2-based vectors were stably maintained in the archaeal cells either alone or in combination,and this yielded a dual plasmid system for genetic study with this important archaeal model.

BACKGROUND Electroconvulsive therapy(ECT)is both an effective treatment for patients with major depressive disorder(MDD)and a noxious *** some studies have explored the effect of sedation depth on seizure parameters in ECT,there is little research on the noxious stimulation response to *** this study,we used two electroencephalography(EEG)-derived indices,the quantitative consci-ousness(qCON)index and quantitative nociceptive(qNOX)index,to monitor sedation,hypnosis,and noxious stimulation response in patients with MDD undergoing acute *** Patients with MDD(n=24)underwent acute bilateral temporal ECT under propofol *** ECT,the patients were randomly divided into three groups according to qCON scores(qCON60-70,qCON50-60,and qCON40-50).Continuous qCON monitoring was performed 3 minutes before and during ECT,and the qCON,qNOX,vital signs,EEG seizure parameters,and complications during the recovery period were *** 24-item Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression,Zung’s Self-rating Depression Scale,and Montreal Cognitive Asse-ssment scores were evaluated before the first ECT session,after the fourth ECT session,and after the full course of *** A total of 193 ECT sessions were performed on 24 *** qCON index significantly affected the EEG seizure duration,peak mid-ictal amplitude,and maximum heart rate during ECT(P0.05).CONCLUSION Electrical stimulation at a qCON index of 60-70 resulted in better EEG seizure parameters without increasing complications in patients with MDD undergoing b
