The Shenhu gas hydrate drilling area is located in the central Baiyun sag, Zhu I! depression, Pearl River Mouth basin, northern South China Sea. The gas compositions contained in the hydrate-bearing zones is dominated by methane with content up to 99.89% and 99.91%. The carbon isotope of the methane （δ^13C1） are -56.7%0. and -60.9%0, and its hydrogen isotope （δD） are -199%0 and -180%0, respectively, indicating the methane from the microbial reduction of CO2. Based on the data of measured seafloor temperature and geothermal gradient, the gas formed hydrate reservoirs are from depths 24-1699 m below the seafloor, and main gas-generation zone is present at the depth interval of 416-1165 m. Gas-bearing zones include the Hanjiang Formation, Yuehai Formation, Wanshan Formation and Quaternary sediments. We infer that the microbial gas migrated laterally or vertically along faults （especially interlayer faults）, slump structures, small-scale diapiric structures, regional sand beds and sedimentary boundaries to the hydrate stability zone, and formed natural gas hydrates in the upper Yuehai Formation and lower Wanshan Formation, probably with contribution of a little thermogenic gas from the deep sedments during this process.

The potential association between colorectal cancer(CRC)and environmental pollutants is *** studies have found that some perfluoroalkyl acids,including perfluorooctane sulfonate(PFOS),induced colorectal tumors in experimental animals and promoted the migration of and invasion by CRC cells in vitro,but the underlying mechanism is ***,we investigated the effects of PFOS on the proliferation and migration of CRC cells and the potentialmechanisms involving activating the PI3K/Akt-NF-κB signal pathway and epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT).It was found that PFOS promoted the growth andmigration of HCT116 cells at non-cytotoxic concentrations and increased the mRNA expression of the migration-related angiogenic cytokines vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)and interleukin-8(IL-8).In a mechanistic investigation,the up-stream signal pathway PI3K/Akt-NF-κB was activated by PFOS,and the process was suppressed by LY294002(PI3K/Akt inhibitor)and BAY11-7082(NF-κB inhibitor)respectively,leading to less proliferation of HCT116 ***,matrix metalloproteinases(MMP)and EMT-related markers were up-regulated after PFOS exposure,and were also suppressed respectively by LY294002 and ***,the up-regulation of EMT markers was suppressed by a MMP inhibitor *** together,our results indicated that PFOS promotes colorectal cancer cell migration and proliferation by activating the PI3K/Akt-NF-κB signal pathway and epithelial-mesenchymal *** could be a potential toxicological mechanism of PFOS-induced malignant development of colorectal cancer.

To model the strain-inducedγ→α′phase transformation for the Cr-Mn metastable austenitic stainless steel,the 201Cu steel was chosen as the analytical material and the cylindrical samples of this steel with size ofϕ5 mm×10 mm were compressed at strains of 0.2–0.6 in the temperature range of 25–150℃ and in the strain rate range of 0.1–5.0 s^(−1).The flaky samples were prepared by wire cutting from the cylindrical samples and the volume fraction of the strain-inducedα′phase was detected in the test point of the flaky *** volume fraction changing with the process parameters was modeled,and the critical temperatures and the critical strains to preventγ→α′phase transformation were calculated as other different process parameters *** linear fitting goodness of the model between the calculated volume fraction values and the tested ones is 0.986 and the validity of the model was verified by application in cold and warm rolling experiments.

BACKGROUND Epilepsy is a nervous system disease characterized by recurrent attacks,a long disease course,and an unfavorable *** is associated with an enduring therapeutic process,and finding a cure has been *** with epilepsy are predisposed to adverse moods,such as resistance,anxiety,nervousness,and anxiety,which compromise treatment compliance and overall *** To explored the influence of intensive psychological intervention on treatment compliance,psychological status,and quality of life(QOL)of patients with *** The clinical data of 105 patients with epilepsy admitted between December 2019 and July 2023 were retrospectively analyzed,including those of 50 patients who underwent routine intervention(control group)and 55 who underwent intensive psychological intervention(research group).Treatment compliance,psychological status based on the Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS)and Depression Scale Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS)scores,hope level assessed using the Herth Hope Scale(HHS),psychological resilience evaluated using the Psychological Resilience Scale,and QOL determined using the QOL in Epilepsy-31 Inventory(QOLIE-31)were comparatively *** Treatment compliance in the research group was 85.5%,which is significantly better than the 68.0%of the control *** notable intergroup differences in preinterventional SAS and SDS scores were identified(P>0.05);however,after the intervention,the SAS and SDS scores decreased significantly in the two groups,especially in the research group(Pbited no significant differences in preinterventional HHS,Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale(CD-RISC),and QOLIE-31 scores(P>0.05).After 6 months of intervention,the research group showed evidently higher HHS,CD-RISC,tenacity,optimism,strength,and QOLIE-31 scores(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Intensive psychological intervention enhances treatment compliance,psychological status,and QOL of patients with epilepsy.

We explored the appropriate inducing conditions needed to facilitate the differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells（BMSCs） into retinal ganglion cells（RGCs）.Math5,a pro-neural basic helixloop-helix（bHLH） gene,was constructed in an adenoviral vector and then infected into the 3rd passage *** inverted fluorescence microscope was used to observe the morphological changes of the infected *** expressions of Math5,the neuromarkers neuron-specific enolase（NSE）,neurofilament（NF）,Thy1.1,and the RGC-related genes GAP-43 and Brn3b were examined by Western blot and reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction（RT-PCR）.The results show that cells infected with Math5 adenoviral vector were able to stably express Math5 and presented with a typical morphology of ***,these cells expressed NSE,NF,Thy1.1,and *** the synergistic induction conditions of retinal conditioned differentiation medium in combination with epidermal growth factor（EGF） and basic fibroblast growth factor（BFGF）,BMSCs infected with Math5 adenoviral vector had a more typical morphology of RGCs,with a greater number of longer axons that connected with each other and formed a *** addition,the number of NF positive cells was higher,the expression of Brn3b was detected,and the expressions of NSE,NF,and GAP-43 were significantly up-regulated compared to those of them in the *** results indicate that BMSCs infected with Math5 are able to differentiate into retinal ganglion-like ***,Math5 is a stronger activator of the downstream gene Brn3b than the cytokine,which suggests that it is possible to regulate the survival and axon path determination of these differentiated cells.

Modified Method for Estimating Organic Carbon Density in Discontinuous Karst Soil Using Ground-Penetrating Radar and Geostatistics

The conventional method which assumes the soil distribution is continuous was unsuitable for estimating soil organic carbon density(SOCD) in Karst areas because of its discontinuous soil distribution. The accurate estimation of SOCD in Karst areas is essential for carbon sequestration assessment in China. In this study, a modified method,which considers the vertical proportion of soil area in the profile when calculating the SOCD, was developed to estimate the SOCD in a typical Karst peak-cluster depression area in southwest China. In the modified method, ground-penetrating radar(GPR) technology was used to detect the distribution and thickness of soil. The accuracy of the method was confirmed through comparison with the data obtained using a validation method, in which the soil thickness was measured by excavation. In comparison with the conventional method and average-soil-depth method,the SOCD estimated using the GPR method showed the minimum relative error with respect to that obtained using the validation method. At a regional scale, the average SOCDs at depths of 0-20 cm and 0-100 cm, which were interpolated by ordinary kriging,were 1.49(ranging from 0.03-5.65) and 2.26(0.09-11.60) kgm-2based on GPR method in our study area(covering 393.6 hm2), respectively. Therefore, the modified method can be applied on the accurate estimation of SOCD in discontinuous soil areas such as Karst regions.
