We introduce an idea of producing an optical lattice relied on the Talbot effect. Our alternative scheme is based on the interference of light behind a diffraction grating in the near-field regime. We demonstrate 1D and 2D optical lattices with the simulations and experiments. This Talbot optical lattice can be broadly used from quantum simulations to quantum information. The Talbot effect is usually used in lensless optical systems, therefore it provides small aberrations.

The development and implementation of sustainable and environmentally friendly agricultural practices are indispensable as alternatives to pesticide use and to keep populations of soil-borne plant pathogens at levels that do not affect crop *** present research evaluates the incidence of soil-borne phytopathogens on the pineapple variety MD-2,which was subjected to different treatments:Incorporation of Crotalaria juncea into the soil(organic amendment),application of dolomitic lime to soil(inorganic amendment),and the use of plastic mulch covering the *** the crop cycle(15 months),the following variables were evaluated:plant height(cm),fruit weight(kg·plant^(−1)),crop yield(ton·ha^(−1)),the bud root disease incidence caused by Phytophthora nicotianae,number of soil phytoparasitic nematodes and colony-forming-units(CFUs)of soil fungi and *** results indicate that Crotalaria juncea treatment reduced the pathogen population(nematode and oomycetes)at levels that did not affect crop development,so that yield increased(18–20%).The incorporation of *** into the soil as an organic amendment favors the populations of fungi disease suppressors(Trichoderma-Aspergillus).The phytoparasitic nematodes(Meloidogyne sp.,Pratylenchus sp.,and Mesocriconema sp.)and oomycetes(Phytophthora spp.,and Pythium spp.)showed a reduction of their population levels by effects of organic amendment(***).The plastic mulch was also effective,probably due to the maintenance of optimal condition to crop growth and weed ***,the dolomitic lime application had the poorest effect under the conditions of the study area on the variables *** described observations are characteristics of a system-based approach for the potential management of soil-borne pathogens of pineapple MD-2 in Veracruz,México.

Thermoluminescence studies were performed of Znse：Tb and Znse：（Mn, Tb） phosphors. A method of preparation for Znse phosphors doped with Tb and（Mn, Tb） has been discussed. The thermoluminescence（TL）properties of these phosphors have been studied from 100 to 370 K temperature after exciting by UV radiation（365 nm）at three uniform heating rates 0.4, 0.6 and 0.9 K/s. The trapping parameters like trap depth, lifetime of electrons and capture cross-section have also been determined using various methods.

statistical manipulation of material data was conducted for probabilistic life assessment or risk-based design and maintenance for high temperature components of power plants. To obtain the statistical distribution of material properties, dominant parameters affecting material properties are introduced into normalization of statistical variables. Those parameters are hardness, chemical composition, characteristic micro structural features and so on. Creep and fatigue properties are expressed by normalized parameters and the unified statistical distributions are obtained. These probability distribution functions show good coincidence statistically with the field database of steam turbine components. It was concluded that the unified statistical baseline approach is useful for the risk management of components in power plants.

soil samples were collected and analyzed from 25 sites of three hilly regions （Rangamati, Banderban and Khagrachari） for an understanding of the impact of denudation and land use on soils in Chittagong Hill Tracts, Bangladesh. There were natural forests, bushy land, slashed sites, slashed and burnt sites, and the sites prepared for shifting cultivation, one year after shifting cultivation and two years after shifting cultivation. The soils were generally yellowish brown to reddish brown, sandy to sandy clay loam, strongly acid, and well to excessively drained on steep slopes with considerable variation among the sites and land use categories. Bulk density was the highest in sites of one year after shifting cultivation （1.52 g·cm^-3） and the lowest in forested sites （1.38 g·cm^-3）. Water holding capacities were, however, statistically similar in all sites. Organic carbon varied from 0.54% （slashed and burnt sites） to 1.55% （forested sites） and total N ranged from 0.05% （shifting cultivation for one year） to 0.13% （forested sites）. Available phosphorus （Bray ＆ Kurtz-2 P） was the maximum in forested sites （12.32 mg·kg^-l）, and it did not differ significantly in other sites. Contents of available Ca, Mg and K were also higher in the bushy lands and forested sites than cleared and shifting cultivated sites.

In this article,I examine Martin Heidegger’s 1950 lecture/essay“The Thing”(Das Ding)in two ***,as a piece influenced by chapter 11 of the *** second,as a postwar writing which can be interpreted vis-a-vis the Black Notebooks and his other *** are instances in“The Thing”which are analogous to his statements found in the Black Notebooks and his other writings which describe and clarify his controversial political *** brief,I suggest here that Heidegger’s articulation of the concept of wu 無 of chapter 11 of the Daodejing as the void of the jug in“The Thing”may potentially describe his controversial engagement with German National socialism as part of his response to the call for German ***,the fundamentality of the void of the jug is comparable to the exclusivity and exceptionality of the Germans in their mission;and the use of the void of the jug as outpouring is an interesting way to emphasize his disagreement with the regime by pointing out that his support to German National socialism is not to the extent of brutally annihilating the Jews.
