Optimal design of hybrid renewable-energy microgrid system:a techno-economic-environment-social-reliability perspective

The main objective of this paper is to select the optimal model of a hybrid renewable-energy microgrid(MG)system for a village in *** MG comprises solar photovoltaic(PV)modules,a wind turbine generator,a biomass generator,a battery bank,a diesel generator and an electric *** optimal model selection is based on technical,economic,environmental,social and reliability parameters.A novel spoonbill swarm optimization algorithm is proposed to select the best hybrid MG *** optimization results are compared with particle swarm optimization,the genetic algorithm and the grasshopper optimization *** number or size of components of the optimized MG system is 215 PV modules,92 kW of wind turbine generation,25 kW of biomass generation,267 batteries,22 kW of electric vehicles and 30 kW of diesel *** optimized system was selected based on technical factors such as renewable dispersion(93.5%),the duty factor(5.85)and excess energy(15975 kWh/year)as well as eco-nomic considerations including the net present cost(Rs.34686622)and the cost of energy(9.3 Rs./kWh).Furthermore,environ-mental factors such as carbon emissions(396348 kg/year)and atmospheric particulate matter(22.686 kg/year);social factors such as the human progress index(0.68411),the employment generation factor(0.0389)and local employment generation(15.64643);and reliability parameters including loss of power supply probability(0.01%)and availability index(99.99%)were considered during the selection *** spoonbill swarm optimization algorithm has reduced the convergence time by 1.2 times and decreased the number of iterations by 0.83 times compared with other *** performance of the MG system is validated in the MATLAB®*** results show that the MG system is the optimal system considering technical,economic,environmental,social and reliability ***,the spoonbill swarm optimization algorithm is found to be more efficient than the other

Super alloys are intensively used in various industries, especially in the aerospace industry, because of their special characteristics. A number of holes are sometimes required to be drilled into super alloys for aircraft at their final stage assembly. In the present study, a hybrid ultrasonic machining method, called rotary ultrasonic machining （RUM）, was successfully used in super alloy drilling. The empirical modeling of the process parameters of RUM was performed for the super alloy （Inconel 718） using an experimental design approach, called response surface methodology （RSM）. Parameters, namely tool rotation, feed rate, ultrasonic power, and abrasive grit size, were selected as input variables. The others were kept constant. The performance was measured in terms of the machining rate and the surface roughness. The developed models were found to be reliable representatives of the experimental results with prediction errors less than 4-5%. Moreover, the feed rate for the quality and productivity aspect was found to be the most critical factor. The optimized values of the machining rate and the surface roughness achieved through a multi-response optimization were 0.9 825 mm3/s and 0.951 ***, respectively.

Nicotinamide (NA), a relatively nontoxic compound, has been shown to inhibit tumor development, induce differentiation, increase the sensitization of the anticancer drug resistant cancer cells and is being used in different skin ailments. But there are not many reports on its mechanism of action. Here we report that NA induced endonuclease activity. This endonuclease induction by NA appeared to be dose dependent and a function of time. As evident by the use of modifiers of DNase I, this endonuclease appeared to be like DNase type I. Increased [3H] thymidine incorporation in DNA in the presence of NA is possibly a consequence of increased 3_OH'nicks due to increased DNA fragmentation by increased endonuclease activity. The present results would be of help in the better understanding of the mechanism of NA action and its improved use in cancer control.

Objective Calcium Glucarate (Cag), Ca salt of D-glucaric acid is a naturally occurring non-toxic compound present in fruits, vegetables and seeds of some plants, and suppress tumor growth in different models. Due to lack of knowledge about its mode of action its uses are limited in cancer chemotherapy thus the objective of the study was to study the mechanism of action of Cag on mouse skin tumorigenesis. Methods We have estimated effect of Cag on DMBA induced mouse skin tumor development following complete carcinogenesis protocol. We measured, epidermal transglutaminase activity (TG), a marker of cell differentiation after DMBA and/or Cag treatment and [3H] thymidine incorporation into DNA as a marker for cell proliferation. Results Topical application of Cag suppressed the DMBA induced mouse skin tumor development. Task scheduling in highly elastic and dynamic processing environments such as cloud computing have become the most discussed problem among *** scheduling algorithms are responsible for the allocation of the tasks among the computing resources for their execution,and an inefficient task scheduling algorithm results in under-or over-utilization of the resources,which in turn leads to degradation of the ***,in the proposed work,load balancing is considered as an important criterion for task scheduling in a cloud computing environment as it can help in reducing the overhead in the critical decision-oriented *** this paper,we propose an adaptive genetic algorithm-based load balancing(GALB)-aware task scheduling technique that not only results in better utilization of resources but also helps in optimizing the values of key performance indicators such as makespan,performance improvement ratio,and degree of *** concept of adaptive crossover and mutation is used in this work which results in better adaptation for the fittest individual of the current generation and prevents them from the *** simulator has been used to carry out the simulations and obtained results establish that the proposed GALB algorithm performs better for all the key indicators and outperforms its peers which are taken into the consideration.

The breakage of brittle particulate materials into smaller particles under compressive or impact loads can be modelled as an instantiation of the population balance integro-differential *** this paper,the emerging computational science paradigm of physics-informed neural networks is studied for the first time for solving both linear and nonlinear variants of the governing *** conventional methods,the proposed neural network provides rapid simulations of arbitrarily high resolution in particle size,predicting values on arbitrarily fine grids without the need for model *** network is assigned a simple multi-head architecture tailored to uphold monotonicity of the modelled cumulative distribution function over particle *** method is theoretically analyzed and validated against analytical results before being applied to real-world data of a batch grinding *** agreement between laboratory data and numerical simulation encourages the use of physics-informed neural nets for optimal planning and control of industrial comminution processes.
